I had a butler for land and a butler for the beach. I had my own cabana that I did not have to fight for, it was assigned to my room. It would be prepared for me every morning. I was able to pick the firmness of my pillow. I picked the fragrance I wanted pumped into the room at night. I received turn down service every evening with chocolate left on my pillow. He told me there weren't any on site, to instruct the drivers were to stage, so I returned to the end of the line of the staging area on my bus, and watched people just walk right past the buses in front. Being a former metro bus operator, I took it upon myself to meet the needs of the people who were walking past our buses, and I began directing people onto my bus to give them a ride to the main entrance. Being that this was a referral, I was excited to work with them and plan my upcoming Hawaiian vacation. I called Tracey and had to leave a message. It took her 2 business days to return my call. I did not let that deter me, as I assumed she must be really busy. She advised that I come in and pick up some brochures, which I did a few days later. I sat down with her and she pointed out some hotels that she highly recommended. Being that I always do my due diligence, I researched reviews of the main hotels she suggested and found numerous complaints against those hotels, and a lot of them were from within the last 6 months. Not once during the 3 weeks it took me to choose a hotel did Tracey follow up with a phone call to see if I had questions or how things were coming along. After further research, I was now ready to choose my hotel on Kauai and my condo on Maui, so I called Tracey and let her know which ones we were going with. She acknowledged how "excellent" my Kauai hotel choice was, but didn't say anything about the condo that I had chosen on Maui, which has all positive reviews, but was not in her travel brochures (do they get a kickback for sending people to these particular properties that are in the brochures?). She confirmed my cell phone number and said she would get back to me. Now, it is April and I am planning my vacay for August, so to me we are running short on time and I am a planner, so waiting until the last minute to plan things does not work for me. So today, exactly 2 weeks after I gave Tracey my hotel choices, I called her again to follow up. She immediately said "I'm sorry, I have someone at my desk ... can you call me back in 30 minutes?" Correct me if I'm wrong, but, she confirmed my number 2 weeks ago so that she could call me with pricing, yet I never heard from her. This is a huge red flag for me and tells me that the reason I was just asked to call her back is because she hasn't done ANYTHING to plan my vacation, because if she had, she would have already called me, right?? I work in an industry where customer/client service is top priority and if I say I'm going to do something, I do it ... so I guess I expect the same regardless of what industry we are dealing with. So, rather than call Tracey back and interrupt her day, I opted to call Travel Leaders in Webster. I spoke with Jamie and as promised, she had quotes for airfare, hotel on both islands, and a jeep rental WITHIN 2 HOURS OF MY CALL. Now that is how I do business and she will be getting a 5 star review from me shortly. As for League City Travel, if zero stars was an option, that would be what they would get.
