Ludwing is one of the best painters I've ever hired. He's professional, honest and does high quality work. The first time I used 2L2A Painting was a year ago when I had to decide between replacing my French doors which lead to the backyard or repairing and repainting the extensive wood damage caused by my 2 bulldog pups. I text the photo to many contractors and Ludwing was the only one who decided he would take on the challenge. He was able to repair the doors and paint them like new! At that time we also decided to paint our staircase banister and it also turned out beautifully. He took great care in protecting our new carpet on the staircase and furniture. I recently hired Ludwig to do some drywall and paint my downstairs bedroom that had recently had some water damage. His work was spot on. He is very meticulous and I love that!! Especially when you need to match texture. What was even better is how clean his work area is. My daughter has asthma and we were concerned with all the dust and smell. It was such a pleasure doing business with Ludwig and his two man crew @ 2L 2A. He is so very easy to work with, he listens & does not forget what you spoke about, when he goes in to do the job. He also has wonderful ideas of his own and had better knowledge & changed my mind on a few. Never pushy! First of all, he actually called me back and kept my appointment, punctually. I have had a lot of problems with companies not answering, not calling back, or keeping their appointments, lately. I really got my money's worth. I tried painting my rental by myself and with the help of my son and daughter and two friends. Painting was a little harder than we anticipated as we had high, awkward to reach, with accompanying acoustic on the ceiling and the paint was not coming out smooth and taking more than two coats. Ludwig knew I was frantic and had new renters coming in. He made time for me, on the weekend, to ensure I wouldn't lose my renter's. He is very creative and logical at the same time about painting, masking off, fixing our mess when we cut in at the top & getting paint off our acoustic ceiling. He cleaned that up for us. He does Popcorn (accoustic) removal. Wish I would have found him earlier. I can't wait to use him to get rid of that outdated material. He is meticulous. The way he did things and spoke to me was as if my apartment was his own; he takes that much care in what he does and listens to you at the same time. What a relief. Before reading any further, please note that I never actually hired Ludwing from 2L 2A Painting. This review is solely based on my attempts (plural) at hiring him and it's entirely possible that this business does excellent work. That being said, Ludwing is deserving of two stars for the simple fact that he is not reliable and -- at least in my case -- brushes aside little jobs for bigger jobs despite previously scheduled appointments (again, plural) for said little jobs. After having some bathroom fans installed we needed a little bit of drywall repair and painting done. After sending pictures and details of the job, Ludwing replied promptly with what was the best price quote for the work. We quickly scheduled a day for him to come by, but a day or two before that scheduled day he told me he couldn't come after all (something about having a test he forgot about). No worries, I said, we can reschedule. And reschedule we did for more than a week later because of my work schedule limiting my availability, but unfortunately Ludwing wouldn't hold that appointment either. Having a bit of a feeling that he might flake on me again, I reached out to Ludwing and texted him two days before the second scheduled appointment asking if he could confirm he'd come. He called me several hours later and cancelled for the second time. This time, the excuse was a little more unacceptable (and that's giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming the first excuse was true): he was working on a bigger job and wasn't sure when he would be able to drop that for a few hours to do my job. Again, this second appointment was scheduled more than a week in advance, so don't you think Ludwing could've planned accordingly? Or if my job simply wasn't worth Ludwing's time, why not politely decline it to begin with? As I was talking to him it became pretty obvious to me that he simply didn't want to waste his time with my meager $150, three-hour job, so I told him thanks for letting me know and moved on. Fortunately, I was able to do another search a find a more reliable business with a similar price that is coming on a Sunday no less to do the job. The only reason I didn't give Ludwing and 2L 2A Painting one star is because he did communicate with me and he was very friendly on the phone and quick with his reply to my initial quote request. But at the end of the day, if you tell a customer you'll be there then you need to be there, especially if it's a second chance -- doing otherwise is simply bad business. Doing my job may have slightly postponed the completion his bigger job but it's actually smart business on his end to still take my smaller job because it would've surely earned a future customer (me) when it comes to bigger jobs, i.e. the painting of our garage that is probably going to happen soon. Instead, I found a more reliable local business that will most likely suit my painting needs for years to come. Sad to say it, but Ludwing and 2L 2A Painting really dropped the ball here. read more

Ludwig came to the house on 11/11/2017 to inspect my home so he could provide a quote for fascia board repair and paint. After 16 days, I still didn't receive a quote and I texted him for an update. 24 hours later, still no response. Only after I told him I was going write a negative review, he text me that he would call me back. 24 hours later, still no response.
