Cery honest mechanics! They were able to find the problem. Very trustworthy! We'll be going back with them again.

Complete Fail!!  Valvoline, specifically the one at 2417 S Broadway Ave, Tyler TX, is horrible!  I…read moretook my car in for an oil change and the tech suggested it was time to do a radiator fluid flush.  I agreed and had them perform the extra service.  I did not even make it a half block from valvoline before my car started coding, warning engine temp too high; stop at a safe place.  Immediately I turned around and drove back to valvoline, where they had me wait for another 30-40 minutes for the car to cool down.  When asked, the technician said he did not know why the car was coding but that his manager advised for me to drive the car around for the rest of the afternoon and see if the error message resolved itself and to report back the next day.  I knew better than to "drive my car around" and went straight home. Next morning I called Toyota and asked their advice, which I ended up taking it to them.  At the same time I put in a claim with Valvoline. David, manager of the store -- who refuses to give his last name -- said he himself needed to perform an investigation on my car, and I told him it was at physically located at Toyota; he could go there if he needed.  The technician at Toyota is initially reporting that it could be the thermostat; they've ordered a replacement which may take a few days.  Further testing cannot be conducted until the thermostat is replaced as testing w/o thermostat may cause further damage.   The car is still at Toyota, still in the process of being "fixed."  Technician says thermostat damage is consistent w/t machines used at valvoline but can't be 100 percent certain; further investigation needs to occur.   Okay so far.  BUT now Valvoline has called to tell me they've denied my claim; case closed.  I requested they keep the claim open until we know more information, to which I was told, basically, no, we've denied the claim.    I will follow up on this if Toyota or I believe Valvoline is at fault -- which currently I 100 percent do.  In the meantime please share this story and give David a call at 903-592-5695 and request that they please open this claim back up, p&ty!!

Instead of repairing their…read moremistake they told my wife to just drive the car even though the overheating warning light was on. Luckily my wife called me and we got it to a dealership right away. They now claim no responsibility and wouldn't give us the money back for the crappy service. If my wife hadn't called me their recommendation to keep driving would've seized the engine. Also the manager there is a p o s.
