We saw one chair we liked. It would fit our needs, was the acceptable color, material and size...a la my wife's seeking standards. Did we buy it? Of course not. Hickory is loaded with furniture outlets, so off we went a exploring. A couple of more locations and them the big kaboom: the Hickory Furniture Mart. Another review coming on this enormous, four level block-filling edifice containing just about any manufacturer and style of furniture one could imagine. We did not find anything that was better than the one at The Hickory Tree, so after some coffee and lunch at the Olde Hickory Station (see that review), we returned to the Hickory Tree. Since this was a consignment store, all items had a sales price tag with the prices listed over time. What I mean is that a price of $175 was scheduled to cost $150 on the first of the next month, then it would cost $135 the next month, and so on. This being the middle of the month, and not wanting to risk the desire chair being sold while we waited, we bought it...right then. They accepted credit cards. With the help of a young man we loaded this chair into our SUV and were off for home. An excellent, but exhausting furniture shopping experience that I survived. Before you blow your mind out looking for furniture all over, start here at the Hickory Tree. Prices reasonable and mark-downs abound. And nice people.

You can find pretty good deals on some items. For these reasons, whether you are a serious antiqu-er or just looking for casual exploration of an interesting new place, I'd say that Vintage Memories has something for you! P.S. The owner is friendly, conversational, and knowledgeable about the antiques. I arrived around 3:30, knowing they close at 5:00. However, by 4:35, the employees were practically shoving customers out the door. Each employee told us a different amount of time left before closing despite still having plenty of time to spare before 5:00. At 4:40, the lights in the second building were being shut off, and by 4:50, the open sign was off. This may be a controversial opinion, but I feel that if your sign says you're open until 5:00, you should be fully operational until that time. I was extremely disappointed with the staff today, and it was a very odd and uncomfortable experience.

In specific, there is a booth inside towards the right that has a lot of amazing toys for super cheap, and even little goody bags for kids for under a dollar! We ALWAYS purchase from them because there's always something to find! I also seen Hallmark cards 5 for a dollar, and plenty are left! I highly recommend this flea market, especially for a rainy day when you can't head to Hickory or Jamestown for the outdoor ones. We love it!

Talked to Patrick who worked here and he said each booth is required to have 75% of their booth to be over 50 years old. I found myself a couple old radios. Patrick was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and super helpful. For the quality of items this shop has, it will be hard to find another place like this. It is a must stop for people who love going antiquing.
