First of all , Joe wants you to succeed , and the way you will succeed is if you have proper form . Joe is continuously correcting you on your form . When you have improper form and inattentive trainers , you hurt yourself and you give up on yourself . There are some exercises I don't feel comfortable with , but Joe will give you modifications until you feel comfortable to come out of your comfort zone :) His gym is clean, spacious and non intimidating . Leave your ego at the door , come in and enjoy the fun of getting stronger and healthier at the Studio ! You will not regret it

I am a happy repeat customer of Sportsmen's for summer camp for my kids. The team there, headed by…read morean amazing and humble Ms. Nadine Houston, runs a tight ship and I am always amazed and impressed at how they set high expectations of the kids (behaviorally) and have the kids actually listen. The summer camp schedule is pretty suitably structured for kids, comprised roughly of 65% tennis, 25% other sport activities (ball games, swimming daily, rock climbing field trip, MFA field trip) and 10% reading and board game time (these are just my estimates, check with the instructors to get exact info of course). There is time set aside for AM and PM snack as well as lunch. There is a water fountain for kids to fill up on water, as it gets hot. Sportsmen's is being considered to be the host of tennis games for the Boston 2024 Olympics, and the executive director Ms. Toni Wiley delivered a great interview on local TV recently about their involvement in the community, and partnerships with schools etc.; a lot of which I was not aware of. Their down-to-earth but realistic and professional attitude made me feel proud of them which is what prompted me to write this review. The organization added a new health and wellness wing in collaboration with BWH in July 2015 and they will start having exercise classes there in the fall. I think this is an important addition to the neighborhood and a valuable example to follow. (Took one little star away as it could use a more air conditioning, although to be fair they do have a large indoor space to cool off so it could be hard)

And also, after you expressed these two wrong statements, you tried to justify that your program and staff were not prepared to handle a kid with disabilities. I can't imagine what would happen if a family with a kid with a severe condition arrived at Olympia Fencing Center in Cambridge, MA. And Julia is there! For the rest, the coaches of your center are great. Yes, I behaved incorrectly to interact with a respectful person, but I was in front of a discriminative person; that cataloged my kid without knowing him as someone who cannot be part of a fencing program. That was the trigger point, Julia. Julia, thank you for the lollipops you gave to my kids. A lollipop doesn't make you good or bad, but your expressed words reflect your beliefs and values. You are a discriminative person! And you are correct in your reply; that is something I will legally check if the City of Cambridge and the State of Massachusetts will support that a seven years old kid is not allowed to be part of a program, as you said, "for his disability."

Not only did he have a wonderful experience with his young team but the coaches really focused on healthy player development, teamwork and the importance of a "team" and fixed the bad habits learned young. My son has also been to many of the vacation camps that they offer and has a BLAST. These guys all focus on cultivating the player's strengths, working on the player's weaknesses in a calm manner, cultivating the love of baseball, while raising the bar and transforming these young players into competitive athletes! Additionally, the communication between management, coaches and parents completely open and transparent.

They took the old defunct Extra Innings Woburn and renovated the space with new cages, indoor turf and lighting. The facility is extremely well lit, which is a major plus, as many of the indoor baseball businesses in the area have poor lighting. It is easy to book tunnel time online and their rates are competitive. The owners take a no frills approach to the business. There is no pro shop or vending machines to speak of. The owners love of the game is apparent in everything they do, from running the center to coaching kids in their AAU program. They also feature many quality instructors with impressive credentials. The A's proprietors, Brian and Scott Blumsack also run an AAU program out of the Woburn location. There are 7 teams from 10u to 18u. The program started 2 years ago in this location. They play in highly competitive tournaments throughout the summer and are very involved in the development of their players. If your child has the talent, they can help them get to the next level.
