We went in the mid afternoon. We had a creme brulee and a country open face sandwich and Amarula coffee. It was a touch long before someone came to take our orders but once ordered it was fast enough. Food is not bad and it's nice to get some variety from the endless Royal Oaks in the town, and nice to eat at a place that offers some sunlight for once. Another time I went at 5 on a weekday for beer and French onion soup and was served pretty quick. I am no beer expert but I thought the beer was fine, same goes for the soup. I was having a Saturday night trip down Sparks St. and had 2 bad experiences with restaurants already. I got the Poutine Philly and it was delicious and a large helping, i couldn't finish it all. It was crowded and the service showed as such. I wanted the check, and it took about 10 minutes to even get someone's attention. I paid in cash (is that a rarity in this town?), and was waiting for my change... for another 10 minutes!!! I got a $5, 2 $2's, 2 $1's and the change. they got the change for the tip. Great service and great beer! To those who want to get to know craft beer better this is the place! They have all the basic styles and they're all well-executed brews. I have been to their brazilian's pub in São Paulo, and the quality also perceives there. I was starving when I arrived, which is usually a rooky mistake LOL but I got amazed by the food as well. Went in last night with a party of five. The were pretty packed so we sat at the bar to start. The bartender, Alex was quick to greet us and ask if we had any questions. I started with an IPA and man was it good. My fiancee and her aunt had a summer selection that featured raspberries and they both loved their beers. After about 10 minutes at the bar we were moved to a nearby table and Alex continued to wait on us. We all lovedmour meals which included the pulled pork sandwich, a couple of steaks and some chicken skewers. The pulled pork was awesome and everyone else loved their meals. I worked my way thru 3 other beers and loved each. I will be back soon and cant wait to try the Meter of Beer. My fiancee is not a very big beer drinker and she cant wait to go back either. Let me start out this review by noting that the service was fantastic. Sat at the bar for a football game in January and the bartender (Alex) made me feel right at home. Very attentive and personable. Big plus for the 3 Brewers. Also, the server (Tiff) was amazing as well. Very friendly and prompt with her service. The food itself was so so. Steak was decent but not very flavorful. Beer also was decent, but wouldn't give it above 3/5. Great setup for watching a game. Big screen right behind the bar. Only bathrooms are upstairs which is a little inconvenient, but nothing major. Odd behavior by the manager that night with criticizing his staff. Seemed oblivious that any perceived small errors would be massively overshadowed by his boorish criticism in the middle of the restaurant. Very unprofessional. Would go back because of the staff and atmosphere. Hopefully next time the food will be improved, but would be more impressed by a change in the attitude of the management. read more

We had to wait to get a tiny table in a cold, crowded room when there were many free tables on the cozy and warm 2d floor (as I noticed too late, on my way to the washroom). The beer was good but the description by the waitress very misleading. The dessert flammekueche (banana chocolate) was good but the choucroute was very disappointing. Two tiny canned potatoes, the thiniest pieces of grilled ham, very dry sauerkraut and a chewy and tasteless pig leg. The sausage was not bad but was not at all the Francfort sausage indicated on the menu. The only good thing was the couple of broccoli heads and green beans, although there are not supposed to be found in a choucroute. I was very disappointed. The restaurant was huge and very open. We sat upstairs in a booth, and they had several rows of long tables set up for the Sens/Habs game. Despite having TVs everywhere, it didn't feel like a sports bar - people were excited and cheering, but it never got so loud during the game, that you couldn't hear the person across the booth from you. None of us were Sens or Habs fans, so this was perfect. We decided to try out the "Metre of Beer" (I appreciated the Canadian spelling), assuming that they would be sample sized. Nope. Not full pints, but probably 3/4 pints...10 of them. I didn't have any food (altho it looked good), but as far as the beer went... Brown - My favourite. Smooth, hard and full of flavour. Like a delicate slap in the face. White - Almost as good as a Shocktop or a Hoeg. Very refreshing. IPA - We had a Pale Ale and an India Pale Ale. The IPA was fantastic. Had a real bite to it, but still flavourful. The PA exceeded even my IBU limits, with very little substance to back it up. Blonde - Nothing to write home about. Void of any of the hints of fruit I would have expected. But not a bad beer. Amber - I was not a fan. It bordered on bitter to me, without anything to balance it out. Being a fan of 60% of a bar's beers is doing pretty well anywhere. And having the option to try all of them (for cheap! My buddy and I split it under $20/each, for 50oz of beer), was awesome. read more

Had reason to visit twice in the past 2 weeks. Excellent menu and staff but the building itself is noisy and very hard to hold a conversation in. Mainly due to large glass surface area and no noise dampening materials (bad acoustic design). If eating by yourself no complaints whatsoever -- staff takes good care of it's customers. A reliable chain.. The Montreal outlets offer free peanuts in the shell which is a nice touch. Beer is very good, service always (I've been here a half-dozen times) always good. Food... Depends on your taste. Just had the tuna sliders, they were excellent! The pizza (flammekueches) could use a little more punch but are pretty good. Can't complain about the burgers at all. It's a fun crazy busy place if there a hockey game on... Go Habs or Senators! It's one of those 'make it like you need it places'. I have eaten and drank here multiple times and each time is worse than the last. How this establishment stays in business is beyond me, as their food, beverage, and service are all of extremely poor quality (consistently) Last time I was there was especially atrocious, but the manager Perry was boorish and seemingly incompetent in dealing with both customers and staff. I over heard him using profanity in reference to customers and staff alike which I found very shocking. Some research has indicated that this is a professional trend of his. He previously ran a very successful small bakery completely into the ground. This business had been in operation for almost 100 years, until Perry came along, ran it out of business, and then skipped down to avoid his many creditors. I would strongly encourage anyone who appreciates quality and professionalism to avoid 3 brewers and go to one of the hundreds of better options located downtown that seem to be not only better managed, but also serve food and drink that is actually palatable. read more

I know this place is newly opened but considering its a corporate chain with over 35 locations they should be up and running better. Its great to see any kind of addition to the Sparks St. restaurant/bar scene since it is fairly lacking right now. I was excited to give this a try but unfortunately they have fallen quite short. The one positive about the place is the beer, they have a great selection of their in house brews, most of them quite good. They have also done a fairly good job with the space and making it feel like a place you want to hang out. Unfortunately things fell off pretty quick from there. Our server was basically absent the whole time, if we didn't constantly flag down a passing staff member we would have never have gotten out of there. Its always a bad sign when you get seated and jus sit there watching staff go by while you feel invisible and then you sit with an empty pint glass in front of you hoping you will get the chance to order another. The experience of a pub/brewery was lacking as well. We ordered the beer flight ( six of their beers ) which the waiter dropped off without even slowing down on his way by. If you go to Brothers Beer Bistro in the market they will take the time to explain each beer and engage you in a chat about them. Isn't that the point of a brewery experience? We didn't order any food, ended up leaving and going to eat elsewhere. The other annoyances, while I am on a rant here, were the small bright pot lights that lit up our table like a corporate board room. We asked if they could be dimmed but apparently super bright or off is the only option. Why spend hundreds of thousands on the place but them fall short on one of the most important aspects of the experience? Also, the bar itself would be great but they have inexplicably put a 15ft server station right smack in the middle of it directly in front of the TV, wouldn't you want to have clients sitting there? This really breaks it up so once you get about 10-11 people sitting around the bar it is basically full, no great for a Friday night after work crowd. Anyway, this place has a long way to go but is already better than most of the tired spots along Sparks ( Yesterdays, Centretown, Brixtons etc... ) so hopefully they step up their game and can make it a place I will want to return to. read more

Came in to watch a bit of the Ottawa Montreal game. There is a big wall of tv behind the main bar 8-10 ft high broken into 9 panels. Not in high def and badly distorted by the ld stretching. The tv is mounted way too low and much of the viewing area is blocked by the servers who are happy to park right in front of you while they turn and watch. I quickly realize that I won't be able to watch the game from the bar and ask the server if I can move to a table with a better view of one of the other tvs -she says no problem and very nicely let's me pick a better spot. I inform the bartender I'd like to move and ask if he can transfer my bill - 1 Beer poured less that 3 minutes ago - he explains that this would be very inconvenient and he'd prefer to settle the bill. I Agee and express to him how this inconveniences me. He explains he'd have to call over a manager to transfer and this is very time consuming. Still don't care and am not sure why I he insists on telling me about his internal process inefficiencies. So I pay and move. I order a poutine and one more beer. The server then inform me she is off now and would like me to settle the bill (or I can transfer but ...) So far I have been here less that 40 minutes and have paid my bill twice. The high tables are very uncomfortable as the table facia cuts into your legs. The stools are too high for the tables. The music is distorted and way too loud - the songs are indistinguishable and all I hear is base over the people nearly yelling to talk to each other. I ask the serve if she can turn the volume down and she does. read more

Went with a group of friends, had a reservation, and our experience started with a lukewarm reception at the front door followed by a haughty/less than friendly bartender. Moving on to our reservation - the food was not good. By comparison of all of our orders I would say if you have to go here stick with the flatbread pizza dishes. Stay away from the burgers, wraps and open faced sandwiches as they will disappoint you. Our waitress was nice but the service was so slow. By the time we got to the bills they seemingly forgot about us and finally had to flag someone down. Overall disappointing experience and not worth it. We won't go back. read more

The only beers I find worth drinking are the blonde, amber and winter seasonal (strong). Standard pub choices are safe (burgers, nachos[cheese not layered though], etc). I went to the 3 Brewers (I prefer Les Trois Brasseurs as a name because it sounds somehow more sophisticated in French) a few days after it opened. It was packed. We waited a while for a table and had beers in the front part. This was fine. I love packed bars and Sparks Street definitely needs more life. Beers: I ordered the winter special beer, which was quite good. Rather than be adventurous I ordered a couple more rather than try other beers. But on the whole everyone liked their drinks. Food: I was really disappointed with the food. I order a wrap (California Wrap I think), which was lifeless and boring. The wrap and a few fries were on the plate and nothing else. I was still hungry when I was done and none too happy about it. I saw better things coming out of the kitchen (the pizzas they don't call pizzas looked ok), but overall none of us were enamoured with the food. For a chain, they should know more about bar food. Ambiance: I like the bar. It is big, bright and has a good feel about it. I wasn't overly enthused about the TVs showing R&B videos though. I wondered if this was just because of the NHL lockout or a regular thing. Overall I'd go back. It probably won't replace any of my favourite bars (the Manx, Brixton's etc) but sometimes after work you want a bustling bar packed with people, and Les Trois Brasseurs definitely provides that. read more

Came here on a Friday night and it was pretty busy on their outdoor patio. The service was pretty terrible, but our waitress did try her best as it was overwhelmed. It took almost 20 minutes to get our order in after sitting down. Even after the wait, we were told twice after ordering that they had run out of a particular item. Some warning would have been nice.. Finally when our food came out, our friend's dish was missing and we had to wait another 15 mins for his. Nice, right? We ended up with the beer-braised pork shank, the classic burger and California chicken sandwich. We were pretty hungry by this point so the food tasted pretty decent. We found the pork shank to be over cooked and required a lot of chewing. The fries were definitely the best part, evenly salted and light. All of us had their White/Blanc beer which at first was delicious but as you kept drinking felt too acidic. Not the best experience here but I'd like to try it again. read more

We were a birthday party & waited a good 10min for anyone to even acknowledge that we had come into the restaurant, does this restaurant not have a hostess? The service we received was good, our waitress was friendly. However, the food was AWFUL! Cold fries, cold burger, some very greasy disgusting pizza. The bacon on my burger resembled the bacon you would get at tim hortons or macdonalds. It doesn't surprise me at all to read that the food is shipped in & frozen. Not impressed at all. Well, to begin with, I was there for an event and there were a lot of people. For that reason I could over look the slow service, it honestly wasn't their fault. Harder to overlook was the food when it finally arrived being cold and in several cases inedible. The part that really got me, and why I am writing this review, is that there was a special menu for the event and each person was supposed to get appetizers. We were not even offered the appetizers but we were certainly charged for them (5 of us!). I didn't realize this until after we left so it was a bit late to complain about it. I did leave a message on the website (expecting no more than a sorry about that) but got no response at all. A follow up message got the same response. For all of this they get 1 star. If some event is happening there in the future I will probably still go, but I'll get a coke and then had dinner elsewhere afterwards. If you have a choice go somewhere else. read more

This is the first time I have eaten here. Me and some coworkers went for lunch. I had read all the reviews about service lacking and subpar food. I did not find that there was any issue with either. We were seated right away... Less then 5mins later we had a server at out table taking our order. Our food arrived in a timely manor and was delicious. We had the Moulin Rouge Flammekueche. It was really good with a nice flavor, a good amount of cheese and was really big, It's a lot of food for one person and even split in two we didn't finish it. Beers were tasty and brewed on site according to legend (and the menu). Lots of choices, I tried the blonde and the amber and both were good but I preferred the blonde. The staff was friendly enough, didn't impress me too much but did everything right. The decor was nice and it was a pretty pleasant place the have a few beers and a decent meal. I would eat here again but am not going to start planning my next visit right away. read more
