Koebel Brothers Cabinetry

My wife and I are building a new barndominium for us as our retirement home. We wanted some very…read morenice cabinetry with lots of storage space. We checked on the local cabinet makers around the Wichita Falls area and read all of the reviews. I had a few of the cabinet makers come out and quote the job. Dave with Koebel Brothers was my first contact with Koebel Brothers cabinetry. Dave is a very personable and very knowledgeable person. When talking with Dave, it is very apparent that he believes in their product. We chose to use Koebel Brother's cabinets. We met with Dave several times to come up with a custom design that would fit our needs for usability along with the design for aesthetics. Once we settled on the final design we were kept in the loop as far as the delivery and installation date. Dave and his brother Danny were the ones who installed our cabinets. They were very professional and very meticulous about their work. We did choose for them to build paint ready cabinets. In the design of the cabinets we were given the choice of stain grade or paint grade. With the price of wood being what it is now, it was better on our pocketbook to go with the paint grade. It was offered for them to do the painting of the cabinets and we did decline that particular process. I'm very familiar with painting so I opted to paint the cabinets myself. My wife and I feel that we absolutely made the best choice in using Koebel Brothers for our cabinets. Thank you Dave and Danny for building us cabinets that we are proud to have in our home. For anybody reading this review, have no doubt that Danny and Dave will help design what you want and build exactly what you want and need. They will build it to a very high standard that will make you proud of your choice.

I hired Bob Kitchell construction to complete and repair a front door installation that another…read morecompany just plain failed to finish even after a scathing review on bbb. Anyway Bob did a great job. He literally had to remove the door and reframe and shim in the door. It now closes properly with no gaps or rubbing and my new keyless entry locks perfectly. I'm very pleased with the quality of work. He communicated well and was pleasant to work with. His pricing was good and he stuck to his estimate as best he could considering what he was getting into. We changed the exterior trim around the door due to the other contractor cutting out a large notch on the siding. Bob was able to cut to fit the trim and butted it up against the edge of the siding and was able to cover their mistake. Also he had to rebuild the threshold to properly support the door frame. Caulked inside and out. New molding on the inside as well which was a plea

Unfortunately, Mr Kitchell turned out to be completely unreliable and untrustworthy. The work was substandard and in some cases had to be redone. He hires only unskilled labirers and apparently does not supervise their work. He double billed numerous times for materials. He ordered incorrect unusable materials numerous times. He billed excessive hours and billed for mistakes he made that had to be redone. He tried "bait and switch" on our agreement. He is unreliable, incompetent and untrustworthy.

I would like to be able to leave a good review for Nathan Moore and his company, Advocate…read moreFoundation Repair, but I just cannot see how I could. The actual work performed was done very well and to my satisfaction, but Nathan's reliability is severely lacking. He schedules work, or times that he will come to the residence, and then fails to show up or call. I have messaged him repeatedly requesting information related to prior work, in the event that I should ever need warranty work, and quotes for new work, and he doesn't respond. Based on other reviews, and my own experiences, I believe that my lifetime warranty is worthless, leaving me to contact another company. So if you are considering a company to perform foundation work, which can be very expensive, don't contact Advocate.

At that point, we had to do some of the work ourselves to save money. We painted, installed flooring, and ordered pre-fab cabinets. When we received Advocates final bill, they had added a 10% General Contractor fee of $3000 for the work that WE did. They claimed it was for project management. Overall, the work was mediocre. Multiple items that were written in the scope of work were not accomplished. The job site was a complete mess the entire time. When we complained, they promised it would be cleaned up and just like new. That didn't happen. Our children can't walk around outside barefoot, for fear of glass or a nail. They didn't even bother to vacuum up all the dust before turning on the brand new HVAC or before the carpet was installed (stellar project management, right?). Bottom line, save yourself the heartache and don't hire Advocate.
