Geoff was excellent at explaining what he would do, how he would do it, and what it would be mean for us. He was on-time for our meeting and inspection and maintained a good line of communication during the process. Once he was done he took the time to not only explain the findings but the report and how we could use it to its fullest. The report is provided as a website, which allows it to be very thorough and easy to navigate once you get a guided tour. He helped us understand what we needed to take the builders, provide detailed documentation of issues that need to be addressed, and afterward checked in to see how it all went. Our home is in a New Construction development as such all of our neighbors are in new homes built by the same builder. While few have had any serious issues come up we have heard them gripe about small things that were not noticed or taken care of before moving in. The resulting work to correct the problem has created headaches for our them. When they do gripe I can't help but think of how we've had very few issues (knock on wood) and feel like Geoff had something to do with that. This guy didn't check all outdoor light operation. Nothing was on the report regarding the outdoor scones working. I later found out that two of the outdoor lights were not even wired, they were just screwed into the wall. Garage lights were not installed correctly, having visible exposed wires that needed junction boxes. These were only a few items that were missed. Do yourself a favor and find a home inspector who is experienced in construction and is out there to work for you and not the realtor trying to make the sale.
