Like many men in their 40's starting to lose their hair, I panicked & went on an internet research…read morespree to explore what my options were. I knew that just shaving my head & "dealing with it" was never a viable choice.  We can put astronauts into space, splice atoms, & send funny cat videos around the world in seconds... surely we have figured out something for balding men right?  Well the answer is "sorta".   While it appears the advancements in hair transplants are really gaining ground & new procedures such as "PRP" are becoming popular, there is no "sure thing" with hair loss/ replacement procedures.  What I found was that many of these procedures cost upwards of $10,000 & don't fully show results until a year later. There's also no shortage of magic elixirs & snake oil companies pumping out ads on social media for their pills, creams, & gimmicks.  You're smarter than that which is why you're reading this review right now.      I started looking at Scalp Micro Pigmentation after a discussion with my wife who's a nurse.  She explained you can't change your genetics, only delay the inevitable.  You see, every man in my family is cursed & went bald by their late 30's to early 40's.  In my case, it was highly unlikely a transplant "would take" (be accepted by my body) at all.  I didn't want to spend all that time & money to probably be right back at square one.  Instead, I shifted from trying to save a sinking ship to making the best of the cards I've been dealt.  The SMP procedure is much quicker & more affordable with a higher probability of results I'd be happy with.    The analogy that really hit home was thinking of your head like a garden.  If the soil is tainted & nothing is growing in that dirt now, planting some new stuff in that same soil with a little fertilizer isn't likely to start growing plentiful crops again.  While technically it's *possible* to get a transplant & have a full head of hair, you're still fighting a losing battle before that gives way eventually as well.   I visited a few SMP offices locally & spoke with their artists but I wasn't overly impressed.  I then began researching artists in LA, NY, & Miami.  I was about to hop on a plane when I found Scalp Technique in Broomfield.  They have a great location in a trendy, hip & thriving retail community.  The office is new, clean & comfortable.  I was impressed with how JT answered my questions & became clear he had significant experience.  I was comfortable with his process & felt confident he could accomplish the look I was seeking.  It doesn't hurt his prices were very reasonable & competitive too.     While I'm not blessed to have a full head of luscious hair like some into their 40's & 50's, I'm not self-conscience about my head anymore.  I don't stress going out in public or try to hide behind a hat & neither should you.  My wife actually loves my new "bad boy" buzzed look so we'll call that a bonus.  I'm incredibly impressed with the results & couldn't be happier.  Don't hesitate to let Scalp Technique work their magic to have you feeling younger & confident again.

Micropigmentation creates the appearance of tiny hair follicles to restore the look of a fuller head of hair for those with thinning hair, and to provide a full, close-cut "hairstyle" for those suffering from complete hair loss. Essentially, the procedure replicates your natural hair follicles while strengthening and adding density to thinning areas.

I really liked my provider and the medical staff member that checked me in. I have two small stipulations. The ipad that is needed to complete the check-in process errored out on me, so I had to answer questions after my checkup. And the checkup itself was not as thorough as I've had in the past by other providers, but I'm going to take that as it being very clear to my that I don't have issues due to what she saw in my exam/my medical history. I will very likely return to this location in the future. I had a very good experience.

DO NOT use this place- when you rely on a health provider you want then to care about your health,…read moreyour time or at least their own business, but none of that seemed to be the case. They should probably rename the place from Cara Mia to "we don't Cara about You-a". The short version is I had an appointment, they sent me a reminder text at 3:38 the day before the appointment, and I showed up and they tell me my appointment was canceled the day before...yeah, the day they sent the reminder text. THEY NEVER NOTIFIED ME THEY CANCELLED- I learned that at the counter. At first they just said I wasn't in their system. When i showed them the confirmation text that had their businesses name, their address, the appointment time and date, along with the providers name and credentials, they then said it had been cancelled. Now, I don't know (yes I do!!), shouldn't one expect a profuse apology for canceling your needed healthcare and wasting your time, and not notifying you of the cancellation? And then, I don't know, try to reschedule with you or potentially call to see if other clinics in their network (they are in a wider network) could get you in especially given there was a serious health concern? NOPE! The staff chose to argue with me about whether I had an appointment. So now we know the management either never trained their staff on appropriate responses or the staff were insolent and refused orders...yeah, basically it's on the management. There is much more to the story (continued below) but you get the gist. For entertainment purposes you can keep reading this if you want. The reason given for the (un-notified) cancellation ended up being that they didn't take my insurance. But wait! - the plot thickens. I wanted to do a full body scan for skin cancer and had been to this place before so called and they scheduled me. As you may know it can take weeks or months to get an appointment. I get a call as the appointment was approaching that it was canceled because they didn't take my insurance (yeah, it gets SO much worse for Mia No Cara about You-a). I had an app scan of a mole that indicated it should be looked at as soon as possible (it said moles like that may develop into melanoma). So I had a call from THEM saying that they NOW ACCEPTED my insurance! Because of the urgency I accepted their first available workable date. Consider this businesses level of incompetence: they CONFIRMED they took my insurance, they sent me reminder texts and I confirmed my appointment, they CANCELLED with NO notice because they said they DIDN'T take my insurance, and they offered ZERO assistance to help the customer with a serious health concern. Ask yourself would you ever use them? No? Good, spare yourself heartache.
