The location has two massive stories of wall-to-wall geeky joy. Books, action figures, art, video gaming goodness; it's got it all. I appreciated how everything was very well organized (largely by pop culture features/brands). It was so well organized that I didn't need to actually ask for any directions or help finding stuff.

The employees are not stuffy and they don't bother you at all. There is a wide array of new and old stuff here. I found a lot of Adventure Time and Bravest Warriors, to my delight. There's three things I've come to expect at comic shops, and that is the wall of new comics, longboxes of older comics and those rarer comics hung up higher. That said A Place In Space is primarily an online operation and the walk in traffic is probably a bound to them so they don't go overboard no the way the shop looks. They have a large variety of comic books form Marvel & DC. They have the current stuff you may like A vs X, current X-men and Spiderman books to name a few. They have an extensive stock of older comic books and the larger graphic novels which have become popular. Every time I go in they seems to have a discount on the price of both the comic books and graphic novels, which I am not going to complain about!! Where other shops of this nature also have a variety of models of comic book heroes this one does not have that many, but as I said the main focus of the shop is the comic book. They have a multitude of comics of which the staff know where they all are. The staff are knowledgable and will let you know they are always getting deliveries and it is possible that the comic you are after may come in soon you just have to check back to see. The big plus for me is that I don't have to go into town if I wish to look for a comic book which is a huge bonus to me. So if you are in the area and just want to peruse some comics this is as good a sang without the fancy displays, just comic books.

Mega City Comics is straight out of a movie. Wall to wall comics, musty smell, long haired rock dude working the counter and a young rock chic sorting out the volumes on the shop floor. The obligatory rock tunes playing over the sound system completes the scene. Black Panther, X-Men, Watchmen, Dark Wolverine, the list is truly endless on what this store has to offer. In hindsight I cannot believe I have missed out on the adolescent comic book phase. The dark energy contained within some of the editions is certainly not for kids, but I'm a big boy now and ready to embrace my sinister side. With comics starting from 99p to limited, hard to find £30+ editions, Mega City Comics is one of my favourite finds.

I always leave wishing I had more time to browse and talk shop. I was able to set up my pull list ahead of traveling and I have bothered Chris and Richard dozens of time with special requests or recommendations. They've come through every time. I also love the classic name and the nostalgic aesthetic. It looks and feels like a perfect comic shop. Their prices are friendly and I could not recommend this shop any higher. I love this shop!

I felt completely reassured. When I received my order, I was delighted to find that they had included complimentary items. Touches on behalf of the team there that were massively appreciated - more so because they, quite simply, didn't have to. I don't frequent it as much as I previously did, but I came back here as it was free comic book day (who can turn down free comics?). Because of those free comics, it was fairly busy today, but it was still tidy and well stocked despite this. The chaps behind the counter are always friendly and eager to help - and this was the same as always as even though someone couldn't find the Flash comics on display, one of them took the customer to the comics (rather than just point him at the "F"'s on display). It seemed a little emptier in the middle than I remember, but that might just be because they were expecting a crowd and cleared out some display tables to make it easier to move around. Credit to them if they thought of that. Calamity and Forbidden Planet are the only two comic shops in London as far as I'm concerned.

Well my nephew is already bored with four weeks of his summer holidays left to go. He asked me to take him somewhere 'interesting', so we headed to Gosh Comics on Berwick Street. Gosh is a candy store for comic book lovers. It has a great mix of graphic novels and comics from the Watchmen to classics like Conrad's Heart of Darkness. It also has a wide selection of art books, runs events and sells limited edition bookplate prints designed and signed by their authors. Instead of ushering you out of shop, this place has been smart enough to include canteen style seating, so you can look through your potential buys at your leisure and this is complimented by friendly staff who don't bug you. My nephew was officially 'unbored' for about an hour and I got brownie points from my sister for keeping him entertained - good times all round !
