PROFIT-DRIVEN! In my three to four years with 32 Dental, I went through fluoride, filling, and toothpaste detal products I hadn't experienced elsewhere. What pushed me to switch was another toothpaste sale. When I discovered it was cheaper on Amazon with insurance, I asked for a prescription and was declined. That made it feel too profit-driven, so I switched dentists and wish I had done so sooner. Exceptional dentist!!! I was referred by my kids dentist when we moved to the area and I've been very impressed. I had an inlay done by a prior dentist that broke. She redesigned it to be much stronger and more secure. I have trouble getting numb and I get very anxious about dental work. This dentist is magic, she got me totally numb and worked very quickly. So I was quite sad when Dr. Chenoweth left the practice as she was fantastic. Low and behold, lightning struck twice. Dr. Barakat is awesome! She is an honest dentist, very patient, hard working, thorough and very caring. She doesn't rush and takes the time to explain everything. You don't get the feeling of being pressured or being sold snake oil whatsoever. You can tell her technique and experience is excellent. It's like an honest mechanic, very few and far in between. Great experience! I have always hated going to the dentist. I've been to a few in the area who have all made me cry (embarrassing to admit, but true). Dr. Cheneweth is the first dentist I've seen who didn't try to upsell me on fancy procedures and try to scare me that all my teeth would fall out if I didn't do it! The technology make accurate diagnosing and treatment faster and less painful. I'd vote 6 stars if I could! My first appointment with Dr. Zeynep Barakat was terrific! After several years not seeing a dentist, I was more than a little concerned. I shouldn't have been. Alena the do-everything assistant took xrays, explained everything she was doing and pointed out the images on screen, explaining all along the way. This made me relax right away. Dr. Barakat then took over, again explaining the entire exam procedure as she worked (gently and with humor too!), making sure I was comfortable and telling me what she was seeing and how each thing might affect my oral health now and in the future. As she described my prior dentistry history, it was easy to see that she valued the artistry she found there - a good sign of what is important to her in her own work. She took photos of my teeth with some cool technology, setting me up for reliable tracking of future wear patterns. My brother was experiencing bad pain in his mouth for a few days. Today, he finally had enough but didn't seem to have many options since he does not have insurance and we had a feeling, this pain would cost a pretty penny. We called around 2 and they gave us some offers over the phone which were great and very reasonable. They saw us at 3pm and treated us very nicely. The place is immaculate by the way. They have the most comfortable waiting chairs. Unfortunately, I didn't get anyone's name. However, every single person from the receptionist, dental hygienist who used to work on injured military, to my dental hygienist who talked me through my cleaning while watching Avatar for the 2nd time in a row, were ALL amazing. So turns out, my brother had an infected wisdom tooth that needed to be extracted ASAP. It was a crazy, difficult extraction. The root of his teeth curled which also made it more difficult. Another dentist came all the way from El Cajon to help with it because she has 41 years of experience. My brother said it was a good experience even if he had been in the office for several hours. They were so kind to us and casually talked us through. I decided to get my teeth cleaned while I was waiting anyway. 2 customers gained- thank you!!! read more

I went to 32 Dental Arts after finding an offer for a FREE consultation and treatment plan price comparison, as well as an ad for Dental Implants, including implant, abutment and crown. I admit that I was filled with apprehension and a general distrust, based on past experience. My initial reaction to the treatment plan I received, based mostly on my ignorance, was shock and dismay. Over the next 2 weeks, I visited other dental offices to get comparative evaluations. In the process I acquired more knowledge and valuable perspective. I wish I had been prepared to respond immediately and more appropriately to the thoroughness of Dr. Cheneweth's evaluation and the generous discounts she offered. Dr. Cheneweth's evaluation and treatment plan were the most complete and comprehensive of the 6 that I received, all from successful and highly rated dental practices that are located much closer to where I live. Her pricing was not the lowest, but very competitive, and most importantly, I had the confidence that she would do a great job, with no surprises. We have been going to Dr Chenworth for about 6 years and she retired a little over a year ago. We are not impressed with Dr B at all. She was extremely late to mine and my husbands first appointment during COVID. We were the first appointments of the day so it's not like she was busy it seems because they are a staff that walks in at the very last minute. I usually wouldn't care but I have a newborn and am breastfeeding so being on time is important for my plans. She seemed to me to be a new dentist who lacks experience and tried to sell us all kinds of things. Then as leaving most dental offices will provide a toothbrush and floss in a bag. Dr. B was very snarky and was like explaining how these bags are so expensive and if I "really needed one?," I felt uncomfortable of a dentist saying that and if she's struggling that bad I can afford my own toothbrush and floss. I have had many dental procedures and dentists throughout the last 30 years! Implants, crowns, bridges, root canals, you name it! I don't hardly have one tooth in my mouth untouched! I have had many procedures redone and redone again because of bad/incorrect dental work and a lot of pain to go with it! I don't know how long I've been a patient here but long enough to have plenty of dental cleanings, fillings, and a root canal and more. The staff is all very kind. Melinda along with all the front "First Impression Specialists" are sweet and eager to help. But since most are not coming to chat with pretty and handsome staff I'll get to the point: I had throbbing pain "inside" my tooth and swollen gums. Turned out to be an abscess or some type of infection under my crown or something..who knows exactly..actually I know who knows, Dr. Cheneweth! She and an amazing surgeon (I wish I remembered his name because he was AWESOME!) took care of me. No pain. It went better and quicker than expected. I had gingivitis when I first started coming here (Geeze, this review really makes my teeth & mouth sound horrible)..anyway, teeth, breath and gums are white, clean and healthy. I moved and needed a new dentist. My family found this dental office and we all went together. The staff is awesome, the location is great and the doc is really nice. The only concern I had was that for my family, she recommended fillings because all of us have cavities, but none of my family members have had cavities our entire lives and the weird part was that the cavities were on the sides of our teeth. Also she had mentioned that out oral hygiene was great and we needed no work. Weird. Of course the bill was a couple hundred each. Just wondering if anyone else had same experience. I will, and have been, travelling from San Bernardino to see Dr. Cheneweth and associates in San Diego. It is well worth the drive to know I will receive high quality patient care. The examination and cleaning is very thorough; thus, knowing in the long term, there will be less probability for needed treatment. More often than not, the needed treatment we need are caused by our own poor oral hygiene, so Dr. Cheneweth and staff will give you personalized advice on how to take care of your mouth based on what they see (a rarity). If they need to work in your mouth, as they did with mine, I feel comfortable with the treatment plan they build and seems appropriate and trustworthy. We all know those dentists that don't communicate clearly, are rough and clumsy but also just seem not to have that "Passion" or the Expertise to give their patients the best care.
