She takes pride in introducing herself as well as laying out the plan for the appointment (X-ray, cleaning followed by Dr. Cho evaluation). Throughout the cleaning, she is very gentle and tells you what she is going to do next. She is the first hygienist who can memorize all the numbers for the gum assessment by herself! It's a smaller office, but everything runs very efficiently, which was really impressive. I filled out the forms ahead of time, so there was almost no wait before being seen. One of the biggest advantages is that they have X-rays, CT, and 3D scanning all in-house, so you don't need to go elsewhere for additional imaging -- everything can be done in one place. The exam itself was very calm and straightforward, but thorough. He made sure to go over everything I needed to know without being overwhelming. And the highlight for me was definitely the cleaning. They removed years of buildup and stains, and my teeth even look noticeably brighter. The touch was very gentle, and I felt no discomfort at all. This office was very clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful! I have not been able to afford the dentist, but recently got Denti-cal and this place not only accepts Medi-cal & Denti-cal, but they referred me to an Orthodontist who accepts it as well. Which is really hard to find! The hygienist Bemy was so nice, I have some dental anxiety but she was so reassuring, and we made some nice small talk during the x-rays :) Doctor Cho told me I did not have any cavities (I was shocked) and noted that my pain may be from grinding and pressure from my misaligned bite. He could have very easily pushed me into more procedures and more appointments but he simply did a quick cleaning and sent me home with some Sensodyne. Firstly, when you walk in, you're greeted by Lorena who is very friendly and sweet in the front desk. If you need someone who can speak Spanish, she's very helpful. "Small talk" with her while waiting in the lobby is always a pleasant experience. Secondly, the whole staff is super professional and courteous, so you feel like you're being cared for. Bemi has a very kind and caring personality to make sure you're not uncomfortable while getting work done. She's skilled and has "soft hands" that you can tell she's not just "doing her job". She genuinely cares for her patients. Stephannie is very nice (although I think she went back to school for now) and is very skilled at what she does. Thirdly, the dentist Dr. JinHyun is a straightforward and good man. He can speak Korean as well so don't worry if you can only speak Korean. He details his work thoroughly so you can get an understanding as well as good results. I've had a few fillings, couple root canals, and crown work done, and he made sure I comprehended what he was going to do. It made me feel better that he cared to show and tell me things, rather than to "just get down to business". You can tell he has great dexterity in his hands and works well with instruments. He makes sure you're not in pain, lest it be a painful procedure, by asking you during the process and comforting you. Ask him to shoot you up if it hurts! Hahah. He's clean when he works, always switching out gloves for new ones often. As a germaphobe, this is reassuring to me. All in all, for a dentist office, this place feels good to be at. I would always get jitterbugs at clinics and hospitals, etc, but I can truly say this place is pretty comfortable for me! read more
