My teenage son has spent two summers in the 343 Labs summer program (in person last year and online this year) and absolutely loved it. He's an advanced student for his age and he's learned so much in the program. The instructors are all experienced professionals who are equally gifted teachers. We've found 343 Labs to be a nurturing, educational and fun environment that has had extremely positive influence on his development and joy of making music. Everyone at 343 Labs has been incredibly supportive of my son and gone out of their way to stay connected, continually encouraging his development in the most generous and sincere way. I should also mention that the facilities are very nice if you plan to attend in person, but they also do a magnificent job teaching their courses online. Music production is well suited to teaching remotely and with so many activities cancelled now due to COVID its wonderful to have an activity that my son can participate in remotely. I just completed the month long Ableton Live Summer Immersive (Online) and it was an absolutely incredible experience! As someone who has performed and taught music professionally for over 20 years myself I have very high standards when it comes to music education. The teacher (Abe) absolutely blew me away with his expertise and his ability to give the class all of the info we needed AND also go deeper into so many subjects when students asked questions. I didn't really know what to expect when I signed up for this course but it completely exceeded all of my expectations! Not only can I now get around Ableton with ease but I also learned so much about gear, recording audio, creating synths, sound design, sampling, mixing and mastering, midi mapping my controllers for live performance and so much more! I enrolled in an online Summer Immersive course after years of trying to learn Ableton Live on my own and acquired the tools to make projects on my own. I'm a veteran educator and having a live instructor can't help but make a difference in a students understanding, recall and application. My Instructor (Abe Duque) taught at a level that was appropriate for my group, going further than the basics because the class wanted to go there. He always made sure everyone in the class understood the topic and inquired more than once to be sure we did.. I would highly recommend anyone with an interest in music production enroll in a class at 343 Labs. There is simply no substitute for live instruction, Ableton Live is a massive program, the manual is over 700 pages long but with guidance you will be proficient before you know it. read more

343 Labs has immensely helped me make progress in my music since I started attending events there about a year ago. The variety and quality of events they have is excellent. Aside from classes, there are lectures, Ableton User Groups, open mic showcases and track feedback sessions where producers can get notes on tracks they're working on. 343 has also gone above and beyond by fostering a musician community. Having a nurturing group of others also developing their craft is incredibly important for anyone who is a bedroom producer. I have taken 2 courses at 343 Labs and I am definitely happy I did. I've been wanting to make a career as a producer/dj for the past two years now, and 343 has helped me bring my production skills to the next level. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my experience at 343 labs. Instructors are incredibly talented and knowledgeable. Class sizes are small enough that you get a ton of personalized attention and you can learn from the other student's work as well. No matter what kind of music you want to make, instructors and classmates offer super valuable feedback. I started taking attending 343 Labs April 2020 around the time that quarantine started and I can honestly say that it's been absolutely pivotal in my growth as an independent musician. The instructors are all extremely knowledgeable and helpful with several years of experience to back it up. I know that for some people that cost can be deterrent but in comparison to traditional college tuition, it is unbelievably much more affordable and accessible; and payment plans are available. If you want to learn about electronic music production this is the place to be. My first choice would always be to go their NYC location but obviously given the times this has been challenging. They have nimbly adapted and offer top flight on line courses using Zoom. I have enjoyed the Ableton 1 12 session course and a mixing and mastering workshop. The bonus to all of this is the high quality free content they offer on their youtube channel 343TV and other events. It helps to crystallize what I have learned in the class and has me on my way. read more

Max demystified Ableton which seemed so intimidating when I first downloaded it.
