Renewed my BLS this weekend and it went well. My instructor Marie Pauyo was great. She had great energy & kept the class very interesting. Loved how she explained the different concepts and that the mannequins were able to give visual feedback on our compressions. Will continue to come to CPR123 for all my renewals. I just completed my BLS Healthcare Provider recertification course with CPR123 about an hour ago. I've been a Licensed Athletic Trainer since 2014 and have to keep all of my certifications up to date every year or two. So as you can imagine, I've taken my share of CPR/AED classes. With that being said, our BLS instructor today was perhaps the best I've ever had the privilege of learning from. Her name is Marie Pauyo and she is super engaging, charismatic, funny, patient, and experienced. You can immediately tell that she is a wealth of knowledge and has an unbridled passion for people, healthcare and teaching. There was a blend of people in the class, ranging from fellow Licensed Professionals to lay folks and she did a great job adjusting and providing individualized attention accordingly. I was curious a moment ago and did a search for her name within their reviews (https://www.yelp.com/biz/cpr123-inc-manhattan-new-york?q=marie) and there are 10 other folks who wrote 5 stars about her. They all echo similar sentiments, so you know today is no fluke! I wish I had more teachers like her throughout my academic career and highly encourage anyone who is looking to take a CPR/AED or Heartsaver course to sign up with her. Also, shoutout to the front desk and their phone receptionist (I believe it's a national phone line) as they also rock. Scheduled a 12:30 to 4:30 class with instructor Andrew Roa, was 20 minutes late due to traffic and thankfully he let me in. Class was super easy, the instructions were very simple and start forward which made the test easy as well. Was officially certified within a week. Recommending site to all my friends. What a fantastic experience! The establishment is nicely located in Midtown on Madison btw 39th & 40th. Easy access to public transportation & lots of food options for when its lunch time. The office itself is neat and clean. The room temp is great b/c the Forest Hills office is freezing! (Still nice people but freezing) Upon entry you get registered at the front desk and then the instructor tells you to go into the designated classroom. ACLS with Mr. Mike Russo was great! He knows his sh*t! He was such a pleasure! He made ACLS fun & easy to understand. He kindly gave wonderful examples, stories, and answered everyones questions fully all pertaining to the content. There are videos to watch, mock codes, and of course you need the proper book. (They sell it if you don't have it.) There is a bathroom on the floor (ask for the key.) Ps. This is my second time completing a CPR BLS Recertification with CPR123, and the experience was just as smooth and enjoyable. I purchased the class online through their website and called for the affiliate discount code of 10% (they offer this for anyone employed at one of the major hospitals, so be sure to call and check!). They have many available class times, including weekends. It is advertised as a 5 hour class, but we finished an hour early. Our instructor Moe was friendly, energetic, and made the class engaging by giving us many scenarios to practice with. Each section began with watching some short videos, followed by a recap and demo by Moe, and a hands-on practice session with the mannequins and breathing equipment. We went through 1 person and 2 person CPR, rescue breathing, use of the bag valve mask, use of an AED, and choking support for infants, kids, and adults. At the conclusion of the class, there is a 25 question multiple choice test which is fairly easy. You can use the class manual that you are required to purchase for the course, and you are given the results immediately upon completion. The e-card is usually emailed to you within 1 business day. I would definitely recommend purchasing the hard copy of the manual instead of the e-book, unless you are prepared to bring a laptop or tablet to class. You are not allowed to access the ebook on a cellphone. Overall, this was a great experience and I will be returning for future recertifications! read more

I needed to renew my ACLS/BLS. Typically there are courses through whichever institution I'm at that offer it for free but I was unable to attend this year. CPR123 in Manhattan was pretty fluid. The BLS renewal was mainly online; there are videos and then mock scenarios that are timed which at first took me by surprise but you the hang of it pretty quickly. Ben was our instructor for ACLS and he made the course as painless as possible; he was entertaining and efficient. I got my BLS/ACLS cards via email by the time I got back home. This review is for the in-person BLS class with COVID updates. Instructor Mo (full name Modesto, if you are registering online) at the Manhattan location was great. He was engaging, followed safety protocols, and made sure to provide relevant examples. I did not feel like anything valuable was lost with the social distancing and we still got hands-on experience to practice the skills. I recommend this course over the BLS one with the American Red Cross that I have previously taken. I had to get recertified for Basic Life Support and a colleague introduced me to this company. The office is in a central location and very close to Grand Central, so easy for everyone to get to. The office is clean with helpful staff. The instructor was very good, spoke clearly, was able to answer all my questions and ran good simulations. I have to say they improved so much in supplying information to students over 2 years. I learned so much from them and feel so confident now to deliver my skills at work. I only come for the skills testing as I prefer to do the online courses (part 1) at home so I can't comment on the quality of their in-person classes, but I'm sure they're great. I usually renew my bls at my hospital but because of covid , our classes were very limited and always full. I first heard of this through my colleagues and they said it was very fast and efficient. The company's website was a bit hard to navigate and I booked an in person bls renewal course instead of an online renewal with a quick in person skills review. I called to inquire about the difference between the online course and in person bls renewal course and also if I could enroll into the online course and pay the difference for the online. Since the online costs more, I don't see why not. My interaction with the receptionist Tiffany wasn't pleasant. She was short with her explanations and pretty much told me no refunds , no exchanges and if I want the online course, I could cancel the in person renewal bls and enroll into the online one but I will not get any refund. I felt I was put into blame for not reading between the fine lines and I should suck it up and deal with it which I did. The renewal bls course is the same as a newbie bls course. We were placed with brand new students and seasoned ones. Although the course indicated 4 hours , we completed the entire course in 2 hours which includes a 20 min break and paper test. My instructor was very fast and efficient. We each had our own adult and baby mannequins to practice. I would definitely recommend cpr123 to my colleagues. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars was my bad interaction with Tiffany. She really needs to improve on her customer service with her tone and delivery... read more

Decided to go here for BLS certification and this place offered the cheapest price out of the rest. I was also impressed by how easy the whole process is. You sign up and pay online after choosing your preferred time. You show up, check in, finish the course, and they then send you an e-certificate via email. The instructor was very concise, with a great sense of humor. I learned a great deal. There were plenty of hands on learning along with some video clips. After a 2-3 hour lecture session, you take an exam at the end which should be very easy if you paid attention. Definitely recommend! I have taken a CPR class before and it was so dry and not that much hands on practice, but CPR123 definitely gives more than enough!! I have yet to receive my e-certificate though... hmmm. I do not remember if they said it will be sent within 2 days. If I do not update, you can just assume that I got my certificate lol. read more

I had to find a place quickly to take CPR/BLS as I am an RN and I had let my card lapse (oops). It is super easy to sign up for the class on line. The communication from CPR 123 was excellent and I got a reminder the day before. I was greeted warmly and informed I was the only one in the class. Marie was my instructor. She is an excellent teacher. She covers the material thoroughly and concisely and is an excellent teacher. I would highly recommend this place. My experience the last many years being employed in a hospital was the misery I went through of doing the on line classes and on line simulations which are horrible. Best ACLS CLASS EVER taken in my last 20+ years of nursing. He doesn't teach you the test or shortcuts. I took my BLS, PALS and ACLS here and it was worth every penny. You can sign up for courses (online or in class) as needed or for package deals. I personally like hands on classes because I feel I retain more. My instructors (Marie, Mike and Stacey respectively) were very knowledgeable and used their real life experiences in addition to course material to get the information across. They kept the classes engaging, fun and done in a timely fashion. The class sizes allowed time for everyone's questions to be answered and for instructors to focus on students who need help. Will definitely continue to go back to them as long as they're around and encourage everyone else to try them as well. Whether it's your first time or you need to recertify you can't go wrong. Referred by peers who took the course before me and raved about it, I went into the ACLS class with high expectations... ... expectations that were easily met and exceeded by instructor, Nemo (yes, like the ----). Taught with humor and intelligence supported by real world experience, it was easy to stay involved. Nemo cared enough to learn our names, our background, and tie it all in with his teaching. He prefaced his class with something along the lines of: "it's your time, it's your phone, do what you need to do" attitude, but if people were dying to text and Instagram, I would've never known-- that's how engaging this class was. By aiming for ME to succeed and be a better HCP, Nemo made the class extremely positive experience that I would recommend to everyone.
