My appointment was scheduled for 5 pm on a Saturday. About 45 minutes before my appointment, Eric emailed me and informed me that he had a walk-in who wanted a tattoo. Eric asked me if I could come closer to 5:30. I agreed. When I went in later, Eric apologized for delaying the appointment, and that he explained firmly to the walk-in that he had a scheduled appointment and would need to work quickly to respect my appointment. I really appreciated that. Eric asked me if I could describe or show him what I wanted. I showed him a couple of pics I found on the web. He said no problem, would probably take about 15 minutes. He sketched it by hand first, then transferred to a computer, and then got to work. It took about 15 minutes like he said and I love it! Eric explained the tattoo after care that I should follow, as well as providing me with printed instructions. If I decide to get another tattoo, I will definitely patronize this studio again! I gave him my idea on a Monday and he told me to come back the next day and I could get it done if I liked it. I came in and saw the stencil, and his idea, and went with it. Matt's black work and shading are on point. Matt is also very personable and even put the Sixers playoff game on for my whole 3 hours! I highly recommend Matt for any kind of tattoo, as I saw many different tats he had done other than black work, but his black work and shading are his favorite and I can see why!!!

She charges by the hour and we agreed to get this piece done in the same day, and it took her 2 full hours just to do this outline on my thigh. We then agreed to add another hour to start and finish the shading, but after that full hour passed, she had barely even touched it. At 6:45 PM on the dot, she abruptly stopped working and told me I'd need to book another 2-hour session in a few weeks to finish the shading. That means she is dragging out a tattoo of this size into a 5-hour, multi-session project. Stopping mid-session right on the clock just to force a client to book a whole separate appointment feels like an incredibly unfair business practice.

I went to Gemini (I wish I could remember who recommended the place, because I am glad they did) and told the guy what I wanted. I basically said I wanted the Star of David with flames behind it. I put $50 down and was told to come back in two weeks and they'd have something for me. I go back 2 weeks later and talked to Keir (I may be spelling his name wrong, sorry!) and he said he thought about it and he didn't think a Star of David on fire was the best way to go. I could have asked for my $50 back, said see ya and walked out. But I didn't. I saw this guys work and I wanted to get inked there. So we came up with a plan. Star of David with a chai (symbol of life) in the middle and he said I could have floating stars around it or some sort of a tribal thing going on around it. I went with the floating stars (glad I did). I did want fire/flames incorporated in the tattoo somewhere, so I asked that he fill in the tattoo with colors that made it sort of look like fire. Keir took really good care of me. I even got a little butterfly tattoo on my inner left wrist. I'm telling you, the butterfly hurt a hell of a lot more than the Star of David tattoo (see pics). The price was outstanding and reasonable. They were my 3rd and 4th tattoos and I was pleased. Even my mother was proud. And you know it's all about pleasing your Jewish mother! I do plan on getting back there, just to get it touched up a bit (it has faded and Kier did state I have lifetime maintenance!). I would highly recommend Gemini. They're clean, reasonable and friendly! Even after my tat was done, I was informed by a religious co-worker that one of the 'legs' of the chai was to be connected to the top of it.
