They've answered and helped me quickly. While I was getting pierced they were respectful, kind, and made sure I was well prepared. Mean Street is amazing. I remember finding them years ago when I was still in high school. I got 2 lip piercings here and they were fantastic. Their place is clean, aesthetic, and such a comfortable safe space. All of the artists and people who work here are so very kind, helpful and talented. They are relatable, make you feel at ease and are very chill. It is such a safe space for everyone. I love how cozy the lobby area is, and I enjoy how every person has their own room decorated with their own vibes. I think their prices are very reasonable and they are also willing to work with you in regards to your budget and finding something that works. I don't remember who did my piercings, but I remember the experience being very pleasant and educational. Those piercings healed nicely and I still use the jewelry I bought from there to this day. I got 2 tattoos recently by Zoe - a text one and a custom piece and I love them both so much. She made the process so easy and comfortable, and even let me make some last minute additions to one of them as well. Her artwork and tattoo skills are fantastic and she is so pleasant to work with. I had a great experience at Mean Street. CJ was super knowledgeable and helpful. I came in to have my nose pierced and my navel stretched (it was pierced before but tightened due to pregnancy so I needed it restretched for rings) and he gave me all the info I needed and answered all of my questions (I always have many)! Because he was reassuring and explained the process thoroughly and accurately, I felt comfortable letting him go ahead and pierce me and it looks great. He placed it perfectly for my face and I love it!!!!! I def plan to return and I def recommend this place. Excellent service. I would highly recommend Mean Street to anyone looking for a piercing. We took our 9 year old daughter, and she was a little uneasy going in, but her piercer Isabelle eased her tension. She was very gentle and kind. She explained everything she was doing to outlr daughter before she did it and our girl became much more relaxed. Stopped by to get some new earrings after the pair I got from another tattoo/piercing shop unexpectedly broke on me and the earrings that I had at home were irritating my new piercings. They have a nice large selection of titanium and gold pieces for your new piercings. Izzy was super nice and changed my earrings out for me. Such a great piercing shop. Very clean, like a doctor's office. The receptionist helped me choose a piece of gold jewelry that would best fit the shape of my helix and Isabella made the procedure virtually painless. (This helix was exponentially LESS painful than my previous mall kiosk lobe piercings, which always throbbed for hours.) I will definitely be back for more. They all made me feel so at home and mike, the one who did my tattoo was awesome! He had a comforting appearance and he was very gentle and was very patient with me while I was panicky since it was my first tattoo. JR from Mean Street did my dermals during the Philly tattoo convention. I could immediately tell why he had the longest wait out of all the piercers there. He was kind and friendly and thoroughly explained everything. Yet when he did the actual piercings, he was super quick! He told me when to breathe in then breathe out and explained I would feel a "pop" while he inserted the jewelry. He also guided my friend every step of the way as she got her septum pierced. If you were to ask me where Bensalem is, I probably couldn't tell you. But that's what Google Maps is for! I would definitely make the trip just to have JR do another piercing or replace my dermals (should that time come). read more

Great tattoo shop. I have numerous tattoos and this is one of the cleanest shops I've seen. The staff are really cool, and their prices are significantly cheaper than Street Road Tattooz. Reid did one of my tats and did a great job. I've since come back for a coverup by Mike Madison and it was great! My hubs also had his two tattoos done here. I've been pierced by JR, too. He was able to repierce my daith through scar tissue without any issues, into a successful, clean and pain free piercing. Highly recommended!!! read more

Booked an appointment and waited an 1hr 15min with a young child. Another person in the waiting area said she's was waiting for over two hours. When the piercer brought us back she said someone wanted 4 piercings (instead of 1) during a 30min appointment which is why it took so long. So tell them you can do one and that they have to rebook because you have other appointments.... During the wait no one came out to update on status. I got 90% of the work I have done here! Sadly, I've moved 3,000 miles away and miss my Mean Street! The last time I was there was on 3/31/2011. If your question is tattoos and you're in the Tri-state area the answer is Mean Street. I have a lot of ink, and I've had my share of Sh**ty artists. Reed saved me. He is professional and does outstanding work. The studio is super CLEAN, the rooms are very private and comfortable. You will sit and watch a good movie (They stream HBO and other movie stations) while you get inked. They are by appointment only (from what I've seen) and this is a good thing! They're busy! I have been working with Mike the owner of the shop to get a cover up done that has been taking more than a month to complete. I had our first appointment for 12:00 and he shows up around 2:15 and does 45 minutes of work with no genuine attempt to acknowledge his 2 hour lateness. I understand tattoo artists/parlors aren't known for there promptness or their outstanding business etiquette but common courtesy could be the minimum. I continued for 2 more sessions and each session he wouldn't go past an hour and half. I have sat for 3+ hours for all my tattoos. This is more of a milking strategy than anything else. The straw that broke the camels back was me showing up after using pto time at work for him to not be at the shop. They told me they called and left a voicemail and I showed the clerk there was no recent call or voicemail and all I got was a "I'm sorry". The facility is nice but the level of professionalism and milking a tattoo that could have been done in 2 to 3 sessions into more than 4 is just wrong. Make your decision to go or not but do your research first to avoid being toyed with. read more
