I love the uniqueness of this place, the history, the stories people tell, and the fans! Tonight we cheered the gophers on against the badgers and it was a sold out crowd. A huge, overflowing student section and fans from ages 1 to 101. They have great concessions, including chickfila this year! And you can't miss the giant bowl of peppermint bon bon ice cream. Love popcorn? They have some of the best.

We sat in the first row of the upper section (207) and they were amazing seats. Mid-court and high enough to see the plays develop but not too high so that the basketball does not look like a marble. We have been parking in the Washington Avenue Ramp of late and it's been a great place to easily get in and out from I94. I always enjoy watching games here. Fans are a bit rowdy. The atmosphere is full of energy. Plus the women won on a buzzer beater which was so exciting.

The venue is a bit older which adds charm to the venue. The entrance is a little hidden and hard to find if you are not familiar to it, but it is right off University, just not very well called out. The lobby does house a lot of athletes who have done significant things (championships, olympics, ect...). The main part of the venue has a nice sizeable track. There are stands for spectators which is not large but not tiny. For the event we were at it was definitely sufficient.

This ice arena was the first, and remains one of only a few, ice arena's dedicated to woman's hockey. The arena features seating for 3,400. Ridder Arena features and NHL sized ice surface and is next door to Mariucci Arena (home of the men's Gopher hockey team). The two buildings are connected via an underground access tunnel, which allows them to share ice resurfacing. The arrangement also allows the two Gopher hockey teams easy access to both NHL (Ridder Arena) and Olympic ice (Mariucci Arena), depending on their weekly opponent. Ridder Arena has concessions, merchandise, trophies and memorabilia areas. This arena is a gem.

Seeing the remodel, knowing all the secret hallways and backstages crevices, I really got to understand all components of the space. Helping guests navigate ramps A and B were a daily occurrence for me along with entertaining fans on camera. Flash forward to today's world, I feel a little out of sync not being there 24/7 yet there is still so much familiarity. I attended the Cardi B concert in the suite level and as I remember, every staff member was extremely helpful and the suite level was decked out with balloons and was extremely clean. I still get chills thinking about the stage managers who can transform a basketball court into a concert stage and then into an ice arena and back again. The level of detail is always mind blowing. Bravo!!! I look forward to my return to TC in whatever capacity that is. Thank you!

Pure Disney magic... with a side of numb legs…read more The skaters were phenomenal. Truly Olympic-level spins while dressed as your child's entire Disney+ watchlist. Hearing a full arena of kids passionately belting every lyric was its own heart-melting soundtrack. Snacks and light-up toys were priced somewhere between "theme park" and "second mortgage," but honestly, that's part of the Disney contract we all silently agree to. Seats were impressively close... and uncomfortable. By intermission, I understood what Elsa meant about letting it go. Feeling in my lower back, specifically. Magical nonetheless- creating memories with your child and feeling the whimsical vibes. Would absolutely go again.

It was easy to park on the streets for free, and many others did as well to avoid the parking lot fee at the stadium. They had a pre-game party on the lawn which was so fun! There were samples of beverages, games, and plenty of information booths. There are multiple entrances to head into the stadium. The stadium was epic! There is a huge Brewhall on one end of it, which was incredible, and they had lots of other food stations as well to choose from. We enjoyed the cheese curds! Lots of shops as well to get some gear. Evening games are gorgeous as the sun is setting just past the stadium. There is truly not a bad seat in the stadium! We were high up, but it was good so we were able to see the whole field. Staff were friendly and helpful too. Lots of fun chants to yell during the game, and of course waving your towel! Quite a crowd getting out of there but many traffic guards to help. Definitely worth a try!

I grabbed a free clear bag from Hyundai. We also checked out the kids playground area on the east side of the stadium. Loved it. Great for kids to get the wiggles out before heading into the stadium. The game was full of excitement. We sat behind the north side goal tender area. I did a nice lap around the stadium, grabbed drinks, ice cream and a souvenir for the kiddo. The only negative for me was one of the refs that had some very bad calls and the bugs. It was very buggy, I felt itchy quite often and maybe because they are constantly watering the grass so it's the only place the bugs are attracted to in the area since it's been so dry.

This is such an amazing and beautiful upgrade!! My review is based on a concert experience, but I hope to come back for a game someday! I visited from out of state for the Noah Kahan concert and everything was very well organized. I arrived during the opening acts and there was no line at all to get in. There were plenty of staff in place to keep crowds under control and ensure that people got to the correct section. My seat was on the field and I loved that there were bathrooms and concessions available in this area so that I didn't have to leave the field while I was there. My only complaint is that it was extremely difficult to get phone reception, and others around me had the same issue. I really liked the area surrounding this park as well. Lots of hotels, restaurants, etc in walking distance, and so many parking lots and garages that were very reasonably priced.

A NORTHERN PASTIME…read more The Minnesota Twins' home ballpark is a great venue to watch a game. I took my family on vacation to Minneapolis in early June, and in doing so I was able to check off Target Field from my list of MLB stadiums (7th in the AL, 12th overall).  Tickets on a weekday afternoon to see the Twins play the Chicago White Sox were pretty cheap, far less than what I expected. Security was friendly and we got our stroller + stuff in easily.  We sat in section 133, an area in right-center field that always has shade thanks to a large upper deck directly above it.  In front of us were some planted flowers, props to the Twins landscaping crew for keeping things green and colorful. In several spots at Target Field, you can find grab-and-go kiosks stocked with a number of classic ballpark snacks at reduced prices: $4 hot dogs, $3 peanuts, $3 popcorn, $4 pretzel w/cheese, and $5 cans of light beer. These no-frills offerings were PERFECT for me and the fam, plus it saved us a bunch of money. When we stopped at guest services to get a "my 1st Twins game" certificate for the kids, the guy behind the window tossed a couple of dog-eared papers our way and said nothing.  No midwestern warmth for visiting fans as my Sox proceeded to paddle the Twinkies 8-0. Once the game ended, we hit a massive traffic logjam trying to leave the top deck of the parking garage.  Since there was only 1 way out--the bottom floor--we had no choice but to wait for all the lower levels to clear in turn.  A full hour and a half later, I was able to drive everyone (now fast asleep) back to the hotel.  Ooof. When a Twins player hits a home run, a large neon sign in center field features "Minnie and Paul" shaking hands, a nod to Minnesota's former minor league teams the Minneapolis Millers and the St Paul Saints.  This sign also flashes 'Twins Win' anytime the home team secures a victory. * TL;DR * Target Field is one of the nicest stadiums I've experienced in the big leagues--Truist Park (Atlanta) and Nationals Park (D.C.) also fit this mold. Being able to get ballpark snacks for cheap was absolutely clutch, as my kids weren't interested in a $12 Kramarczuk's sausage and I was thankful to not shell out $14/beer.  We dug the open-air vibes of the right field concourse and overall facilities were nice. I still gotta dock a star because leaving the game was absolutely brutal.  No stadium is perfect and exiting traffic can often be a hassle, but 90 minutes of not moving isn't fun for anyone.  A different parking scenario for us and it's a 5* experience for sure. If you find yourself in the Twin Cities between April and October, check the Twins schedule and try to catch a game here.
