The employees were all so friendly - the lady who scanned my ticket was full of smiles, and the man who brought me to my seat took the time to explain how food/drink orders work, and where the restrooms are located. My seat was right next to the stage and I loved being so close. I ordered popcorn which was fresh and buttery (yum!), beigneits which were stuffed with Yuzo fruit and served with Yuzo curd (these were hot and so delicious!), and a very refreshing spritzer. Prices were fair and I was very satisfied with my food/drink. I will definitely return to this venue again and have signed up on their email lidt so I won't miss any announcements. Love that they are bringing in authors and other interesting people in to this lovely Portsmouth venue.

The staff was really busy, as you'd expect, but they were cheerful and quick to help patrons. While we didn't eat, the menu looked perfect for small plates and the drink menu was more than ample. The new employees were constantly hovering and checking in on me while I was trying to focus, which felt unnecessary and stressful. They were also extremely pushy around closing time and kept reminding me starting about 30 minutes before even though I was already aware and planning to finish on time, which I did. Took a drive up this past weekend for the Disney After Dark Burlesque show. It's a classic old…read moreschool theatre tucked in the downtown area of Dover. The facility and property has been well maintained. The new ownership and staff working were very outgoing and kind and helpful. I think the lady serving the liquor was part of the ownership or management. Very nice and welcoming. They are going to be showing Hocus Pocus, classic 90s Halloween film this season. Along w Rocky Horror Picture show and other classics from the golden era of film. Horror movies like Halloween or Friday the 13th would be great as well. It's a great and perfect throwback to yesteryear with the layout and how they do things. The owner said they do trivia and Cuban dance lessons among other fun events there. It's really a great find and I wish more towns had these small local joints where it's intimate and fun and a great experience. The burlesque show was awesome. All the woman were attractive and the show was great. My first ever. Looking forward to my next visit at the Strand. A great spot when in Dover to visit.

It's a great spot that has a good amount of books including highly anticipated releases and classics. They were also running a deal if you spent enough you could choose a book from their slightly used books which my wife got to grab a book from and it had some high quality barely used looking books on it! Was a great deal and the staff were all so friendly too. The big plus as you could guess from their name is besides being just a bookstore they also had a bar with a good craft beer tap list. Was a perfect stop for us to grab a beer before continuing our bookstore crawl! We are big fans of the bookstores who integrate of combine other businesses together. Who wouldn't love to grab their next book to read then without needing to leave can sit down and enjoy a beer while starting to read. A spot we will definitely return back to when we find ourselves in Portsmouth!

There were many baby animals for the children to look at and pet. We really enjoyed our morning there and would recommend visiting without hesitation.
