Come here if you want to treat yourself to something luxurious without breaking the bank. Wear House includes designers of haute couture. Angela has a keen eye for style. Boutique style dressing rooms with flowy high curtains and brick walls with recessed lighting. Fair prices and some major designers in this thrift shop. We came across a pair of Loubitains as well as two pairs of hunter boots. They didn't have the largest selection to choose from but the pared down selection did make it feel more like a boutique and not overwhelming. They have a fitting room which is great to see, but curtains instead of doors if that is important to you. We would love to return to browse again. Portsmouth is a favorite seasonal shopping spot of mine. Over the years, Wear House has been a top destination. This year, the shop changed location, the selection was noticeably limited and the clothes were a bit over priced. All this was okay. What was not okay was the rude reception by the sales associate. The woman was miserable and intentionally rude. Wear House should consider monitoring associates for toxic personalities. It's the weekend, cheer up! Perhaps consider changing professions; your attitude is bad for business. read more

My all time favorite consignment store - I will never take my clothes anywhere else! I moved to Boston and make sure to save clothes to bring when I visit home. Besides that, Angela has a great sense of style and the store is carefully curated to create a unique aesthetic. Cute store! I'm a little disappointed that the vast majority of the clothing is for women, but that's how it always is with consignment shops. My impression was that the clothing might have been made for younger people than the stuff at Second Time Around, Upscale Resale, or Esta but that's not based on actually counting or anything. Everything I own is from Wearhouse. Angela, the owner, has an amazing eye. The denim selection is awesome- lucky, Hudson, j brand- you name it. Also fabulous accessories too- great handbags, and some local artisan jewelry too. The store is so appealing and well organized- cool, friendly staff and ambiance. My wife got some items she absolutely loves and the total price she paid for all of it was less than she would've paid for one of the items anywhere else. She really liked this store. I've shopped here many times and have always liked the selection and mix of high-end and more affordable in-style items. So I decided I try to consign some of my things. I am beyond disappointed with the way they consign and run their business. I will not go back now. The first time I dropped off items for consignment was in the fall. They took two things, but with my 'no thank yous' there was a separate bag with a note saying to bring them back in the spring. So that's what I did. I dropped off a bag of only the things they noted (Express silk shirt, club Monaco lace dress, Loft blouses and two never worn dresses with the tags still on them). They called the next day saying my 'no thanks yous' were ready for pick up. When I went to pick them up the bag looked as though they didn't even go through it. It was in the same order and I had folded one of the shirts it an odd way and it was folded that exact same way. They didn't take anything and there was no receipt or anything. It was a huge waste of my time. I understand consignment is fickle and can be feast or famine with what comes in. But I don't understand how they take a H&M top but pass on wool banana republic work pants, a Kenneth Cole sport coat, and a JCrew spring dress. I felt like it was handled poorly. read more

This is one of the best thrift shops I have ever been in - small, well-curated and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and helpful. I found three J. Crew sweaters - two Merino wool at $28 each and a beautiful winter white V-neck cashmere with tags for $58. The cashmere sweater retails for at least $250. I passed on a red Gucci tote for $128.
