This is indeed a Mid restaurant. Small town opinion is that it's a great addition to a dwindling selection of variety. Big city folk opinion is that it's trash. Over all? 4/10. The fries were good, the reviews with 3 stars are pretty spot on. I came in on a Wednesday night, the restaurant was reasonably busy, I asked for the Birria nachos, and a side of fries. The nachos were ironically dry, the cheese hardened in seconds to the construction paper under, there was no flavor which I tried to help with more cheese dip (didn't work). The server came over and asked how I was enjoying it, (I'd eaten less than 6 nachos at this point) I said "it's unappetizing, I can't eat this, I'm sorry, it's just not very good" She took the plate, but made me pay for a terrible dish. That was hardly eaten. I tried to make it appetizing in order to eat it and not waste it, but 2 chips from there I was done. I finished the fries and left hungry. You have A LOT OF INEXPERIENCED SERVICE PEOPLE HERE. I did not see a single adult in the restaurant. No one of age to run the staff, check on food, check on customers, run plates, or help with the over all atmosphere. This is why the customer service is suspect, they don't want to pay to have a competent adult running the place. Came in late on a Monday and they were busy and seemed short handed. Still, we were seated, quickly and the food came out quickly. Everyone enjoyed their meals, including a burger, fish and chips, a chicken dish with bacon jam, and a couple of pasta dishes. Everything tasted fresh and was well prepared. Tonight was super busy but, our waitress Kari K did an excellent job bringing everything very timely. I had sweet Asian salmon. The sauce was sweet & a little spicy. Garden salad was fresh & cold with tasty French dressing & a good blue cheese dressing. Also had a cup of French onion soup. Really hit the spot on this cold winter night. Husband had steak & mushroom fettuccine. And a cup of French onion soup also. We each ate half of our entree, then switched plates. I have tried several times this winter to give this restaurant "another chance"! They have run some good radio ads that make me think that maybe they have upped their game. So again I go with friends on 2/27 and again very very disappointed. Service just so so ( except for the young man who greeted us and went out of his way to say goodbye) ! Food was just not good. I had a chef salad that looked like it came from a convenient store, onion rings that were obviously frozen, pre breaded and over cooked, chicken strips that were also frozen and pre breaded, presentation that makes you think you are in a cafeteria and a confusing stack of menus that half of the items are either out of date or not available at that time I feel that your restaurant is beautiful and deserves to be seriously revamped. read more

The food is amazing!!! I spent the summer in Le Mars because of an internship at Wells/Blue Bunny. I usually spent the summer cooking my own food but the only place I actually enjoyed going out to for a restaurant dinner was 4 Brothers. When my dad & I first came in we went to 4 Brothers because it was a nice looking restaurant. The pork chop my dad had was absolutely amazing. The Reuben I had was massive, especially for the price too. Much better food than P's Pizza down the road. There aren't many places in Le Mars for restaurant atmosphere, so I stuck with 4 Brothers if I did go out to eat which was probably just 4 out of 6 times all summer. The place is very nice inside. My wife and I got here on Friday at 5. I didn't ask if they were any happy hour specials but I just assumed we were going to get a little break on the beer. It turns out that the beers were seven dollars and they don't have a happy hour. I was told the fish and chips were good and they used cod. What I got ended up to be pretty tasty but it was actually just an entire fillet of cod not the little logs of cod. The fish and chips were also listed under a section that said that you get a side salad and vegetables but the bartender said that was a miss print so I ended up paying $15 for a fillet of fish and some french fries. They need to fix that misprint because it was very misleading. The french fries were OK. My wife really liked the French onion soup. read more

I had the pulled pork sandwich minus the bun and Mac-n-cheese. It was also delicious great prices. For Mother's Day - my family decided to go here instead of our normal place in Le Mars due to an hour+ wait. We walked in and were immediately seated. For a Saturday night, it wasn't overly busy. After we got seated - it took about five minutes for someone to get our drink order. Once we got our drinks, we had a different waitress to take our orders. I had the ribeye with green beans, fries, and Caesar salad. Others in my party had the deep fried shrimp, potato soup, carrots, and fries. The ribeye was cooked and seasoned correctly! The sides were just average. Nothing special or memorable about them. Our server was alright - she tried her best considering she didn't have hardly a voice. Overall, it's not a bad second choice when other restaurants have a long wait; this place does have the potential to be the "go-to" in Le Mars if they can make adjustments to the food/service. read more

When I searched for restaurants, according to Yelp nothing was open at 8:15 pm on a Monday night. While I figured this was not true and most probably didn't have the hours entered I was unwilling to risk driving around to find closed restaurants considering the hour and walked over to four brothers. When I entered the restaurant the hostess said hi and stared at me for a few seconds until I said just one. At that point they asked where I wanted to be seated and since I said it didn't matter I ended up in the bar. The bar is a bit large and this was probably a poor choice on my part, but I can see why they put me here. It's better to put one extra customer in the mostly gull bar than in a sparsely populated section and keep a server later. After a few minutes the server.came by and.said she would be.with me in a.few.minutes. sure enough, a few minutes later she came back and took my order of French.onion soup and a.kids burger. About 10 min later the soup came out. The soup was hot but exceptionally salty and tasted like something made from a mix. About 25-30 min after my order the burger came out. The waitress was good, she checked on me a few times even though she was busy. Net, it is an acceptable option, but I wouldn't go out of my way. read more

Just a really good all-around bar and grill. The service is usually very good and the food well above average. I don't think there is one item on the menu I haven't enjoyed. Some of my favorites are the Twisted Sister, Turkey Club, Bacon Jam Smothered Chicken and the French fries are ADDICTIVE. I also like that they do innovative lunch specials so you get to try new things once in awhile. I like to eat on the bar side, but they also have a regular dining area, as well as a private dining room for parties. All in all, 4 Brothers is my go to restaurant in Le Mars. I have also tried the one in Sioux Center and it is equally as good and has a beautiful interior. read more

Everyone has an off night but this has been too often. The restaurant has always been our go to spot for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and date night. But lately the atmosphere has changed along with the food. On a recent visit, I ordered grilled salmon that was fishy and past it's prime. On our latest visit I ordered battered shrimp that was undercooked with a soggy coating. My husband ordered a steak that was beyond tough. Food is amazing, I've had half the menu while I've been here for work, for 8 weeks now. Mojo Shrimp, is amazing. Twisted sisters sandwich, phenomenal. Their Filet Mignon, TOO DIE FOR! Scott is an amazing bartender. Considering I went there every night for dinner 8 weeks straight, I never had to ask for a beer. I visited this restaurant twice during a 3 night stay in Le Mars. It was conveniently located steps away from the Holiday Inn Express that I was staying at. On the first night, I dined with four others. We sat in the back dining room where they were also set up for a couple of large groups, possibly holiday parties. We shared the calamari and onion rings and they brought out a basket of bread and butter. The paid appetizers were forgettable. I wasn't expecting great seafood being that we were several hundred miles away from any ocean. The bread on the other hand, was amazing. It was maybe some kind of foccacia with some tasty herb notes. I had a piece before and with dinner. I ordered the Peach-Mustard pork Chop for dinner - 12oz. Charbroiled Iowa Chop basted with a whole grain mustard and peach sauce. My sides were asparagus and mashed potatoes. I was told if there is any place to get pork, it's Iowa. The mustard/peach combo that dressed the top of the pork chop was really tasty but couldn't disguise the fact that the pork chop was overcooked and consequently dry. It wasn't terrible but even I can grill a juicier pork chop at home. 2 nights later I came back with a larger group of coworkers. It was a bit less formal and we sat in the bar with a few tables pushed together. There was a pretty large selection of beers on tap and they let my sample one before getting a full pint of it. We ordered several appetizers to pass around included the jumbo wings (bone in) without sauce and one with a mild sauce and the lavosh. We had been told the lavosh was good but pretty big, so this was a great opportunity to try it. The wings came out first and made their way around the table. Most people were in agreement that they tasted like old oil. I saved room for the Lavosh with came out shortly after the wings. It was definitely great for sharing and was cut into squares. The Lavosh redeemed the nights food experience. It was delicious! Can't remember what toppings we got but we ended up ordering a second one. I have been to 4 Brothers numerous times and decided it's time to post a review. We went there tonight with our boys. There was a 10 minute wait to be seated. They accurately estimated the wait time. The restaurant itself has a very pleasant atmosphere and we were seated in a booth. The place was busy, but was staffed appropriately for a holiday weekend. Our server was pleasant and attentive. We ordered the potato skins appetizer which was good. My two sons ordered burgers on pretzel buns which they enjoyed. My wife ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and she was disappointed with it. She said it tasted like it might have been grilled next to a piece of fish. Tasted fishy. I had a chicken bacon ranch wrap. It tasted fine but it was little light on the chicken. When I walked into the restaurant I was sat right away but was quickly approached by a worker and was asked for the identification/certification of my service dog. I told her I was not required to provide this, as most organizations don't even give them when the dogs are placed. They are basically a myth. She told me that her boss told her to get it from me. I then explained that it is actually illegal for anyone to ask for a service dog's ID or certification. With a blank stare, she said, I'll go ask my boss about that. If that wasn't bad enough, she then proceeded to pet my service dog. Yet another no-no! I stayed only because my co-workers were meeting me there for lunch. The food was decent, but expensive. The waitress had no manners at all, when she brought our food out, she reached in My husbands plate, lifted up his bun and said oh they forgot your pepper jack cheese. That I find rude, you do not touch someone's food that you just placed in front of him. So she brings out a cold slice of cheese, that he should place on his melted burger. I had the fish sandwich and it was dripping with oil, the fries were limp. You can make a fish sandwich that isn't dripping but my guess is they fry in oil that isn't hot enough. My bread should have been toasted and it wasn't. You receive better food at Bob's...which is pretty sad cause its the same owner. We no longer eat there, but its cause we choose not to eat fast food. Our salad was ordered with dressing on the side, we had to send that back cause dressing was smothered all over. The only time they really served good food and had descent service was the first couple weeks they were open. Le Mars Iowa, somewhere around 10,000 residents, probably not the best place to get a great selection of restaurants (especially considering like 3/4 of them are pizza joints). Keeping that in mind, they have earned four stars (I gave it 5 because I don't think they are getting a fair shake). Beautiful building, good variety of menu options, good service for the most part (those that give a poor review simply on how good the waiter/waitress are being unfair and unreasonable, good help is hard to find) and...easily the best place in Le Mars for dinner if you aren't in the mood for Jim's Burgers or Mexican. read more

I meant to leave this review ages ago, but better late than never! My fianceé and I came in for Valentine's Day, with no reservation, and the place was pretty much packed. There were some people waiting to be seated and we were told it would be about a 40 minute wait. We were seated in about 20 minutes. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I decided to order (with much trepidation) the pork chop. Now, I used to work at a steakhouse, and we had a very good pork chop, but no one bought it. It is really hard to sell pork in restaurants, because not many people like it, and it's easier to screw up than a lot of people think. The pork chop I had at Four Brothers was the best pork chop I have had in my entire life. It was juicy, well-seasoned, and presented beautifully. I literally sucked on the bone after I was done. I had a picture of the chop and the empty plate, but that phone bit the dust. This was my second time at Four Brothers, while the first time was good, the second time will stick with me until and if I ever get a better restaurant pork chop. read more
