I called for an appointment at Byrd and brought my truck in this morning. I ask for a front and rear brake job, to rotate my tires and perform an all wheel alignment and to check the rear tire for a slow leak. These folks are true professionals. They informed me that I had 40% and 60% of my front and rear brakes pads remaining, (the truck has 82K mikes on it) and therefore I did not need brakes at this time. They rotated the tires and put the truck on the alignment machine. They told me no alignment adjustment was required. I expected to pay for the hours of work that was done to check my vehicle. I got the bill and was surprised that $0.00 amount was due. I actually challenged Tim and said i needed to pay something. He said no all they had done was a complimentary inspection. I appreciate honesty. when they could have followed my directions and replaced all the brakes and on top of that charged me for an alignment. Wow ...they are some honest folks. I won't go into why I didn't have the original mechanic that diagnosed to issue do the repair. I had some bad experiences with two different shops local to me, so I looked a little further afield for a new shop. I took my Yukon the Rusty's about a 35 minute drive from my home and explained the situations and symptoms. They took my car into their shop and in about 15 minutes came back, said the problem was fixed. It was a simple "reset" of the positions on the blend doors accomplished with a scan tool. I tried to settle up, and was told there was no charge. Very happy with Rusty's and I will come back if I need anything and I will also refer anyone else I know to them.

They charged me $315 for a diagnosis and told me the steel fuel tank had rusted through and was leaking fuel into the cargo area. They recommended replacing the fuel tank, hoses and lines, fuel filter, and sending unit at an estimated cost of approximately $7,000. I was skeptical because the fuel pump had recently been replaced, so I took the car to another garage for a second opinion. They found that the leak was coming from the fuel-tank sending-unit gasket...a $10 part. They replaced the gasket, and the leak stopped. They also determined that the fuel tank was not rusted out and the fuel pump was fine. I returned to Rusty's and requested a refund of the $315 diagnostic charge because their diagnosis was incorrect and could have led me to spend thousands of dollars on unnecessary repairs. They refused. I have taken other vehicles to Rusty's in the past. Their customer service has always been very good, but I have previously questioned some of the work they recommended and the prices they charged. After this experience, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving any major repair here.

Not even to mention the realizing that they said they didn't include in the quote. When I went to a dealership to get this all checked, the only thing is I was wrong was that my battery was a little bit slow, which is something they didn't even find. TLDR: they will up charge you to hell and back and not even spot the things are actually wrong with your car.
