"Take me home Country roads…read moreTo the place I belong" -John Denver Camp Weona is the place I belong. I went to this camp for 7 years as a child and worked there for 2 summers. This summer, I volunteered for one week. If you are looking for a camp for your child, please consider Weona. Weona boasts beautiful views and a wide range of activities, including archery, horses, canoeing and kayaking, arts and crafts, and a brand new high ropes course including a zip line. I just tried it this summer and it's a blast. The food is average, but it is improving every year. Cabins are rustic and you will get the outdoor experience. I've listed many amenities, but please know that the best part of this place is the wonderful people who work here. The staff care about the children and the experience, as well as this beautiful place. It also should be noted that Weona isn't all for kids... Weona hosts schools and other organizations, family weekends, etc. If you don't believe anything about my review, know that the motto of Weona is "where only good prevails." The workers were great with the kids and they took care of everything. It was a very easy place to have a party. We just had to bring cake and they did everything else! I rode horses here for years and even adopted my own through Manitou. They don't clean their…read morepastures and it shows in the feet problems they don't treat in their horses. The pastures are full of mud and feces that is never cleaned at at one point instead of fixing the roof that leaked in the stalls they decided to add a party room. This party room project involved a board with nails in it to be at the door to the pasture that you had to move to get your horse outside. If you didn't move it back, the owners got furious. My horse I adopted from here was put out to pasture after they found out he couldn't be used to make a profit due to feet and ankle issues. They didn't take care of him and he gained weight so much so that it hurt his feet even more. Would not recommend this place where there are so many better horse farms!

Days of shooting , trouble shooting and a no BS approach to this historic process. John has a plethora of original lenses, images and cameras- and let you use them - during the workshop. There's evidence of a new frog pond under construction, which appeals to my young grandsons. We always take time to go through the visitor center and enjoy the aquariums filled with reptiles and amphibians. The staff is so very helpful and understanding, answering the million questions that my boys often post to them.
