You never know who you're going to get when breaking down in rural areas, but I won the mechanic lottery with Otto Clinic. Chris was able to identify the failure quickly, and unfortunately for me, it required a new engine. Chris's explanation was clear, competent, and accurate. Nobody wants to hear they need a new engine, but I ran everything by my usual mechanic, and he agreed with everything Chris said. Not your everyday repair, and not the type of thing you want to leave to just anyone. But this isn't just anyone- Chris is an ASE certified, AAA recommended Master Mechanic. He knows his stuff. Chris and Alyssia (who runs the shop) really helped me out in a major bind, and had a ton of patience with me while my warranty company dragged their feet getting a new engine shipped out. Highly recommend, and it feels good to know there's a A+ mechanic on the long stretch of highway between Reno and SLC. I hope to never HAVE to be back, but if something goes wrong on I-80, I know where I'm being towed. They had to order the part so we ended up leaving the van with them for a few days to get it fixed. They had it repaired by Tuesday. I thought being towed on a Saturday would cost over 500.00 but it was only 265.00 The entire repair including diagnosis and towing was only 1056.12 after tax. I thought that was very inexpensive for the quality of the service. If we are ever in trouble in that part of the world again, I will definitely be calling them! The only hard part was we were travelling with a German Shepherd. That makes it hard to be broken down but it was a nice day so we were ok.

We paid him for the parts he would need. He ordered the parts for my uncle's 1994 vehicle right there in front of him. He texted me to keep me aware of the status of the parts delivery. When the parts arrived, Joe came out the same day and fixed my uncle's vehicle right there in his driveway. Baja Motors had destroyed the car's parts (while doing a TUNE UP!), then couldn't fix it. Joe got the car running in less than 90 minutes from start to finish. He also installed all new parts and reran wires that they had cut off (?) near the distributor. If you have a car that is stalled on the roadway somewhere or that you can't get into a shop because it won't start, CALL JOE at 775-600-7746! He is also the nicest guy you will meet. I have babied my Subaru Outback and was a little reluctant when I found out AJ works from his mobile mechanics van, but after we spoke, I trusted he would do a great job, and he did! He was very fair and trustworthy through the whole process. He met us at our hotel, and did the job right there. He communicated very well with us every step of the way. Our "AT OIL TEMP" light came on in my 2013 Subaru Outback. Which basically meant my transmission fluid was old or low. I didn't realize with Subaru, that you can't even check the transmission fluid, nor does the dealership check your transmission fluid for you unless you ask. Apparently you should flush and fill with new transmission fluid every 30-40k miles. This had NEVER been done on my 115,000 mile outback. The fluid that came out was black, and smelled really bad. I was actually pissed that the dealership had never told me this. I assumed they always checked transmission fluid with oil changes and servicing. AJ did his research and brought the correct transmission fluid for my fancy-ass subaru (ugh @ $13/qt). Basically AJ saved me from having major transmission damage, which would have cost huge amounts to get fixed. AJ and his wife Lisa are awesome. You are in good hands with them!
