What a great experience all the way around from the office to the field. My garage came down sideways and me being Mr. Fix thinking I could do it just to realize I messed it up even more than it was. The garage doors were badly neglected and improperly serviced at some stage with the wrong fittings ... the door had to be lifted manually, weighing literally a ton. I spoke with Dave about replacing my garage door opener. Mine wasn't working from the remote - only from the in-garage button. He quoted me a price of about $750 for a model that I liked. When he arrived to replace the broken unit, he told me that he had researched my existing model further and wanted to try what could be an easy fix. He did and IT WORKED. The fact is that he could have sold me the new unit and I wouldn't have known any better, but instead he led with honesty. It doesn't get any better than this! POOR COMMUNICATIONS Dave the Owner of Business Very Friendly He came to inspect our broken Genie garage opener on a Friday afternoon, he stated it's simply to install another , though he uses a different brand "Lift Master", he also stated his wife handles the scheduling and she would contact me. The following Tuesday afternoon I called office since I had not received any calls, the woman "wife I guess" stated she needed to talk with Dave and would call me back. Then on Friday of same week I called again, and again the woman stated to me she still has to talk with Dave Sorry Dave do to her Poor Customer Service Communications I stated Cancel Service. Horrible Customer Service & Repair Experience If I could get them a zero, I would. They were great at picking up the call when they wanted to initiate their first consultation and repair for a fee, and there after it was horrible experience. They never answer their phone. They never repaired my garage. They never refunded me my money. I had to call and pay for another shop to fix my garage door, and their one year warranty is crap if they never answer their phone or return voicemails, when they say they will. Absolutely horrible, I paid $350 for someone to hustle me in the hardest time of my life as a new home owner, a single female, power outages, snow storms, and the loss of my dad. I absolutely blows my mind the service was appalling! See notes below: 1st repair, 10/28 $350, garage door worked for one week. 2nd repair - same problem, they came out, and said this was definitely the problem, did similar repair as previous, and as I was reluctant they mentioned it's under a 1 year warranty for service if any issues occur. - I asked for weather stripping around garage door for $55, and they said they'd come following week, when they were at another colfax job, they never called, I called them, voicemail never returned call -I mentioned I had homeowners insurance, and if I could get it refunded, so they could go through them instead of me paying out of pocket, they said yes, and I never heard back. 3rd repair needed calling for service, under 1 year warranty for service for the same issue - 1/10, called left voicemail - no returned call - 1/17, called spoke to lady; she got our two voicemails, and didn't know what to do about the problem, and she hasn't had time to talk with her husband and would call us back. I mentioned the reimbursement for services and to go through fidelity insurance. She never returned call after saying she would after husband clarified. - 1/26, called left voicemail no returned call - 1/28, called leaving a voicemail, told them to call within 2 business days, or i will be going through my bank to dispute any charges for their service that was not provided, and because I wrote a check, I couldn't. They never returned call. -I ended up going through my fidelity insurance paying $75 out of pocket additionally with a new vender. They fixed it on the spot, and showed me exactly what to do if the issue ever persisted. It took 5 minutes to fix, and I never had an issue again. This company has no morals, character or ethics. read more

Dave came within 2 days had correct spring already in the truck, gave a senior discount and was in and out in less than an hour. He also showed me a pic of a client's broken hand that tried to DIY, it was ugly. He also suggested I return the spring I bought and that went well also. Simply excellent response, knowledge, workmanship, materials, pricing. Think twice before you try this task. As a lifelong DIY er I will perform repairs on many things. The mainspring tensioning task alone has an element of risk that is well above what most inexperienced people should attempt. Then throw in which type/color of spring, what direction it is wound in(left or right), how the pull cables attach, final adjustment and lubrication of rollers, you will find very quickly this repair is better left to those who know. 49er 's professionalism in the one hour repair saved me 8 hrs of amateur learning curve with a lesser outcome. Have an old garage, mamma bear came through and could smell trash. The bear ripped 2 holes in the sliding doors. Contacted 49er and Dave came out and walked us through the whole procedure, said he could replace them with a single door in 5-6 hours. Took a couple weeks to get the door we wanted, Dave showed up with his helper James, all parts and materials in hand, 5 hours later he was giving us operational instructions. I can't say enough positive things about this company! I live in a rental home and my landlord had an electric opener put in 5 years ago by Dave. A couple of weeks ago, my door stopped working. I called my landlord and had my hubby look at it and we were clueless. I called BobbiJo on Thursday afternoon to have someone come out. She was so apologetic as she told me that Dave was backed up and the soonest he could get to me was Monday afternoon. I am so used to typical Grass Valley businesses who take a week or more to get out to the house! Lol. I told BobbiJo that Monday was great. She did say that if my car was stuck in the garage or if I needed them sooner, they would come out. But, Monday was more than reasonable. Dave was scheduled to be at my home between 2-3 today. He called me at 12:30 and said that he had just finished a job and could he come by in 10 minutes. I was so excited! He got here before 12:45, introduced himself & his brother in law and immediately got to work diagnosing my door. Within minutes he knew what was wrong. He explained everything to me and got my door back to work. He checked everything over after making the repair and even performed some maintenance on the door that we never thought to do.
