The spare key I have for my old Explorer worked in the ignition, but would not unlock the door, so I wanted a second main key that could do everything, but even after making a new key, the door still would not open using the key . . . after some thinking outside of the box, Bart Luvisi wondered if there was debris in the lock and sprayed some lubricant into the lock, now all of my keys both unlock the door as well as turn on the ignition. Bart is the best!! He came and rekeyed our locks when we bought our house, for a very reasonable price. And today he came out to look at five different issues we are having with doors/locks inside and outside. Four of the five problems have to be referred to the door manufacturer because they are complex (Anderson), and he lubed the lock on the front door to help there. What a horrible experience. I called them in the morning because my electronic key would not open my car. I explained that the manual key lock doesn't work so I needed the 3 button fob like the one my Honda came with. They said they could do it and quoted me 150 dollars. I agreed and after a couple hours they arrived at my house. My car ended up needing a jump because the battery had died (and they need the car running to sync the key with the computer). So it turns out that all I really needed was a jump, my battery was dead so the electronic doorlocks would not open. I still agreed to buy the new key from him since he had already come out to my house, etc. Once he was finished programming the key he handed it to me, and to my surprise it was a standard key with no buttons for lock/unlocking on it whatsover. He then said the total was 196 dollars! I said, you quoted me 150 on the phone, and he said yeah but I also had to break into your car and give a jump. Of course I told them on the phone that I was locked out of the car, so why that was not included in the original quote is beyond me. Also, I could have easily had my neighbor or housemate jump me for free. And with the virus lockdown that was literally my last 200 dollars. But the real icing on the cake is, he overcharged me for a key that is not even what I asked for? What good is a key that wont unlock my door? All of this was explained clearly on the phone, and when I expressed my dissatisfaction via text message afterwards, he got back to me he said and I quote: "Sorry u feel that way but that are reg charge for a key We pay 10 for a chip key & pay $50 for the key code plus $20 to company when we plug into your port to use the programer. So before we start the job were already $80 out of are pocket. Plus we jump your baterie twice i think that a fair price. You door lock is miss up because someone screw around with it at one time." Okay you're a locksmith not an English major, I get it. But what the hell does any of that have to do with me? I don't care what your costs are. You gave me a quote on the phone knowing the circumstances and then changed it when you finished the job. I'm pretty sure that is illegal. And then you try to blame the customer? Man, that is low. There aren't enough anger emojis to express how I'm feeling right now. Edit: No you were not wearing a mask. And no, you never mentioned 195 for what I asked for until after you performed the "service". Why would I need that key when I told you my lock was busted and I needed a remote? You're now just heaping lies on top of lies. What great customer service, I'll be telling all my friends about you, including the BBB. read more

Highly recommend. Bart came out to help me after I got all the keys to my recreational property stolen. He was able to rekey my car, remove 2 clubs, rekey my trailer and remove locks from our shipping container. A little snafu got his van stuck on my very undeveloped and rugged land but he was ready to jump into action. We had some good laughs getting the van off a stump hidden in the grass. I found it very caring him not wanting me to cause damage to my car when I offered to push the van with my car. I know some would be annoyed that that happened but it was fun to try to troubleshoot and getting to know him though out misadventure. I paid and we hugged it out! I was impressed with Mr. Luvisi's expertise, and his calm, good natured manner in dealing with my challenging custom door, and the complexities of the Mul-t-lock. The first lock (an electronic one) turned out to be a dud. Not his fault, however, Mr. Luvisi volunteered to install the replacement for free! How great is that!! Mr. Luvisi now plans to offer the Mul-t-Lock to his customers. It took more time than usual to deal with these challenges, but he didn't charge me extra.
