Much larger this year. Lots of new vendors. Great food vendors! This is our 15th year attending this event! 2 mile up and back walk. Great place to spend an Afternoon. This year it appeared the attendance was larger. We enjoyed visiting with The Parrot Rescue tent. Great group of people who care for the rescued birds. Love what the due! What used to be a fun street fair venue filled with real street artists and musicians has now turned into an event where cell phone companies, window installers, Sam's Club, and many other big named vendors have overwhelmed this fair. Plus it's now time to move the street fair away from the slums of 4th Avenue to a more modern and safer area. How sad to see many businesses on 4th Avenue that have gone out of business or look extremely worn and filthy. As a local resident I won't be attending any more of these street fairs. I highly recommend tourists/snowbirds avoid the fair event as well. There are far better Tucson art and craft shows. read more

I navigate crowds well, but this was more than just a crowd. Some already drank too much. Some were slow. Some were fast. Some were rude. The variety. We did stop and grab a quick bite. Not enough vendors and no parking unless you pay one of the stores. It's not cheap. No food or drinks. Won't go again.

I love the Streetfair it's great that it happens twice a year once in the winter and also in the spring the spring is always the best because the weather always cooperates it's warm and not too hot. Lots of variety of vendors to choose from with different trinkets and clothing items things that you see at a fair, from grown organic salsa is to paintings that are absolutely marvelous; some items you see look like they should be on shark Tank it's really great I had a great time and I always do. Now you can't forget about the food with the smells oh my goodness it's delicious we just want to walk around and eat all day, from roasted corn to turkey legs Chinese food Greek food American food you'll have your great pick even pizza and ice cream. There is something here for everyone, you can definitely spend an entire day. There is so much to see! It happens in the spring and the fall. The artisans are always changing, and there are some staples too. You also have the opportunity to stop along any of the permanent shops along Fourth Ave. and restaurants. The are tons of food vendors there as part of the fair too! You can find anything from Gyros, funnel cakes, turkey on a stick, bar-b-que, corn on a stick, gelato, fish and chips, alcohol, and much, much more! There are stages with live music, and smaller individual street bands everywhere. There are fortune tellers, you can watch people paining and crafting, and just plain people watch! You will definitely take something unique home with you! read more

It's really hard for me to review such an institution as the 4th Avenue Street Fair. On one level, it is a lot of fun. There are a ton of vendors, many whom sell the same overpriced stuff. You will find almost anything that you can imagine here. Great food, live bands, weird stuff to buy. It's a festive atmosphere. I really enjoy attending it. However, for an event that claims to bring the community together, it woefully falls short. Because the reality of this fair is that it's only designed for able bodied people. If you have a mobility impairment, you are not welcome. The proof is in the design. Forget about navigating through it. The vendor layout is a poorly designed mess. You can also forget about handicapped parking spots. Nobody polices them. In fact, I saw three vehicles parked in handicapped spots near the intersection of 4th and Congress, which the public had access to, and they were all taken up by vehicles without placards or handicap signs on their plate. Standing only a few blocks away were the police. I apologize for the rant, but I really like this event, and hate the fact that is and continues to be inaccessible for certain groups of people. To call it a community event is laughable, when it is not designed for the whole community to enjoy. You can do better than this Tucson! read more

I enjoy the street fair anytime its around... Sure there is a ton of people, that why i park like a mile away, learn to walk.... Its crazy drinks, weird food, most of the stuff there is too expensive and often ridiculous... but I like to hang out and look at all the wears that people have taken the time to do, and some of it is really cool... I really don't know why I am even writing this review. My ambivalence comes from a mix of really believing the 4th Ave Merchants Association knows about managing the street for an inviting place to come to on a reoccurring basis (rather than Tucson's total neglect of figuring out what people want), and the fact that most of the booths are filled with thing I would never buy in a million years. It is crafty mix down there, but I guess it appeals to the masses, I still personally don't get it. I hit it fro about an hour every other time or so, and it's not a bad place to people watch. It is one place I know I can go and come back with the same amount of money in my wallet that I arrived with. I do not want to be known as a hater, it is what it is, a crafty street fair. read more

You can spend hours here going to all the different tents and looking around. There are a lot of food options too, the smells are great. I tried a truck that had homemade chips and corn dogs it was soooooo good. The breading on the corn dog was too notch! They hold this event twice a year definitely a must do in Tucson. read more

When I moved to Tucson a couple of years ago, I really loved all of the events that made the Tucson community come together. The street fair is an iconic example of this. The first time I went, I thought what some of the other reviewers thought... overpriced, nothing worth buying, fun to walk through but generally over-hyped. But last winter, thinking maybe I would try to get some Christmas presents, and went back with a different, more open mentality. I attempted to take a closer look at some of the items in the tents, and had great conversations with artisans who had traveled from all parts of AZ, CA, and CO to sell their crafts. A bonus was there are so many stands that give free tastings (flavor tour of hot sauces, salsas, dips, corn nuts, you name it!) and they don't pressure you one bit to buy their product, they're just happy to be there. I loved having conversations with the street fair artisans to learn what made them come to Tucson for the fair. I ended up putting down ~$50 to buy Christmas gifts for my family but it was well worth it. We also met the maker of our favorite local salsa, Mouth of the South Salsa, and were so happy to make that local connection. This past spring, we went again and saw many of the same artisans, got full off of samples and even went into a tiny house that was on display (my HGTV dreams come true!) We didn't buy anything except lunch this time (which, yes, as in all street fairs, is a little over-priced) and it was still very enjoyable. So, if you're looking to buy stuff on the cheap, don't come here. If you're looking for an experience and are willing to spend some money to support smaller artisans, definitely go for it. It's one of Tucson's highlights. read more

If you ever get the chance GO! There were a ton of face painters, booths with littel things for kids, and plenty of actual ART! Not a ton of add to mayo to make dip stuff like the ones i am used to. Many food booths, with a variety of options, not a ton of seating, but there was so much to see it didn't matter. We spent a good 6 hours there, and still had to hustle at the end to see it all. I had been told how cool it was, but until i experience it I just didn't get it. It was a full day thing, not a thing to do before lunch. LOL Polite vendors, and a lot of very upscale items. The lady who makes sinks.....wow. just wow. Whoever it was that stole some of her cups, shame on you, you probably don't even Yelp, cause you are classless. Bring money, the ATM had a waiting line like Disneyland. Although there was no fee if you were a BofA member, which was nice. Parking was $5, but close by, and not bad at all. read more

We really enjoy coming to this event every year but was shocked this year. $ 20.00 to pay for parking ! $ 17.00 for a regular Philly cheese steak ( which the prices were not posted). You would think at that price they would at least b nice to u but nope. Expensive n extremely rude to people. At a different booth $ 15.00 for a cheeseburger but they at least smiled. At those food prices they'll get our business once but there will not b any return business. If that is their goal then mission accomplished. For that price we will sit down n eat at a nice restaurant b4 we go. But other than that the street fair is great. Love the atmosphere n the people. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with 4th Avenue Street Fair. It always sounds fun in theory: I fantasize about seeing Tucson Artists and crafters displaying their goods, getting out among others from the community, meeting some new people, catching some good live music, and sampling some delicious Tucson street food. What really transpires is: shuffling along the street in a herd of people who are trying desperately to catch a glimpse of what's going on in the many vendor booths that populate the Avenue; looking for a bite to eat and realizing that it's all the same crappy carnie food you find at any State fair; not being able to hear any live music, let alone find it; realizing that most of the stuff being sold at the fair you could find at your local swap-meet. There's very little in the way of quality art or crafts. Much of what's being sold is mass-produced garbage from overseas that you could find in any Pier1 or discount big box store. Avoid the crowds and go to a park for the day instead. read more

People decide to park in my private driveway when they can't find parking close enough to 4th. I'm not a vindictive person by any means, but I fantasize about carving crude drawings of genitals into the driver's side doors of these rogue-parkers with my house key. Mostly I just look out my living room window and scowl. Usually it's an SUV or other large, high-occupancy vehicle. Growl. The street fair itself is all right as far as fun outdoor ambiance is concerned, and my neighborhood association raises key funds by running a beer booth there. It's great for the city and the 4th Avenue merchants. There's tons of food choices and decent music throughout the day. I know a lot of people dig the moderately upscale/artisanal, hippie swap meet vibe, but most shit is hella 'spensive. I just wish street fair guests would let me know they're going to block my driveway and render me and my guests unable to park. At least holler up to my balcony and let a sister know. read more

OK I use to love the 4th ave Street fair. Heck I love all Street fairs. I use to love going to one's in NYC and the 4th ave one use to be much better. Well I don't know when it happened but it got a lot more expensive. $4 per kid for a 15 foot ferris wheel? Come on now. We use to park way far away because it was free. Not anymore. Every available flat space from 4th ave to Yuma costs $4 to $5 dollars! The music use to be better too. I remember seeing Al Foul and the Shakes there once! The street was filthy too. I mean really grimy and filthy. The only reason why my family goes back every spring and fall is for the tri-tip sandwiches. In fact the tri-tip sandwiches were getting smaller and smaller while its price was getting higher and until today. It was the best tri-tip I have had ever! read more

I always want to come to the street fair, but I always come away a bit disappointed. Sure, it's fun. Sure, it's a Tucson staple. Sure, the people watching is great. Sure, the "fair food" is yummy. But in all honesty, the goods to be purchased are seriously pricey and the amount of people walking up and down the venue can send you into a serious anxiety attack if you don't like crowds!!! I will continue to go but only because it's a Tucson staple and because it's a great place to get your tan on! read more

I was very disappointed with the street fair this year. mostly because the vendors seemed to by hurting by the economy and taking it out on me. No one can afford to spend $65 on a very small plate that is one of a kind, so it cant be used with their everyday things. its not big enough to be a specialty platter and all and all its just not worth the time. This was my feeling with most of the items there. The common refrain between my husband and i was "i could make one of those" The saving grace is the roasted flesh. mmmmflesh. We have been attending this fair every year, twice a year, for the last eight years. Overall it has been improving. While a lot of booths seem to be repetitive, the last fair (Spring '11) had quite a number of new booths/venders with some merchandise I had not seen before. My only complaint is that the vendors market their goods at some incredibly high prices. The economy has been bad for a few years now and I thought the prices would come down to reflect that but they seem to be going up. I can find much better prices at other "art fairs" in parking lots of area shopping centers where the the bulk of the vendors are local. Maybe that is because we do not have to pay for the vendor's travel costs? read more

(Funny, I don't mind the crowds at the All Soul's Procession or the Festival of Book as much.) I just love that Tucson has this street fair twice a year. I have become customers of many of the vendors. I have to say this winters despite the cold and rain it didn't stop people from getting out and shopping. If you haven't gone to the street fair it's a must. The only recommendation I have is to give out maps or publish them online or something. I hate trying to find my little spots I like to shop because they are moved every time. People come out in droves to stroll along 4th Avenue shopping for arts and crafts, munching on food or just soaking up the great weather we take for granted in Tucson. Although the vendors seem to be largely the same every year, it never gets old just walking around drinking a nice cold beer or lemonade and people watching. Tip: There is a new parking garage on Toole right at 4th Ave. You can park for $5 and walk under the underpass right into the street fair. There is also another lot downtown where you can park and take the free shuttle to and from the street fair. The revitalization efforts in downtown are sure to help the continued success of this event. Slather on the sunblock, grab your hat and head down there! read more

since moving to arizona in 2011, i've made it a habbit to tag along with someone in my extended family to the 4th avenue street fair at least once a year. i really like coming to the one during the winter because it's not hot when you walk around, and since christmas is just a couple of weeks away, it's a good place to look for some christmas gifts. i heard that the wait to get on the list to be a vendor is very, very long. there are so many different tents, you can find a lot of stuff here. also, the normal 4th avenue shops are open along the road and it's nice that this brings them a little extra business. there are also a lot of food trucks towards the middle of the fair to get your grub on if you're hungry. next time they have this, i recommend you check it out! read more
