Now I don't know these guys on first name basis, but I probably should as we have used their…read moreservices several times to get printing done for advertising, sometimes 4000 flyers and sometimes 8000. This lovely couple work very hard and are friendly and accommodating when we have needed things to be done in a hurry or made necessary changes at the last minute before or after the printing has taken place (such as having flyers trimmed). I generally email them what I need done and outline the details clearly, then go pick up the printing when it is done, usually within a few days - however I am sure the time frame would depend on what you are having done. The printing has always been straight and I would recommend local business' to give them a go. They also sell lots of stationary items to fill the home or office.

It was probably a good opportunity for him to offer me binding he didn't and afterwards I thought of that option myself and came back for it minutes later. For 31 pages it cost $7.40 for the printing (including a $2 fee for retrieving the .pdf file from a USB) and $3.49 for the binding, all of which I thought was reasonable. So I got what I came for and it was a pleasant and totally hassle-free experience, which surely is what everyone wants.

Copy Solutions is a chain with several locations over Auckland. I can't speak for any of the…read moreothers, but I would particularly like to recommend the Newton branch. The reason for this is the staff. Like most copy places, the Newton Copy Solutions does photocopying, colour printing, large scale printing, some binding and finishing, and graphic design. So far, so generic. I think the quality of their printing is quite good (and, for the price, very good), but there are other places around Auckland you could get a similar result. But what sets this place apart is the staff. I've dealt with several of them over the last few years, and each of them has been friendly, attentive and helpful. And best of all, they know their stuff. I can ask them difficult questions about print quality or binding techniques (I'm a graphic designer, so I'm full of difficult questions) and not only do they know what I'm talking about, but they have a helpful answer, and will suggest different ways of doing things that will work out cheaper or faster. This is my go-to place for small scale printing.

From the two times I have used this store I assume the store is family run, as staff incessantly chat to each other and friends in their mother tongue, obnoxiously paying a minimal amount of attention to customers. The interaction with staff is composed of a series of short barks with an outstretched hand, for a USB key or for money (and prices push toward the expensive). Perhaps they are trying to create a laid-back atmosphere. It doesn't work as customers feel inferior, unimportant and relieved to leave.

This is one of those print shops where you can use the printers yourself but I had absolutely no idea how I would do this so I explained it to the girl working there. After a few trial and errors she got it spot on, it was exactly what I had wanted and all for around $5! I wouldn't come here if I was looking for exquisite high quality printing but it really is so convenient for small, quick jobs. It's cheap and the people really do know what they are doing, there is some street parking but Manukau Rd can be difficult so I often go down one of the side roads.

I found these guys after a quick search when I needed some posters printed for an event pronto. They were super easy to deal with. I was able to send through my creative via email and pick it up ready-to-go within the hour. Also, big ups for their central location - it can't be cheap to rent there but it sure is super handy. The only slight mark against their name is that they said they'd email me the itemised receipt and I'm still waiting.... just as well it was so cheap! What's an unclaimed $3 riiight?!
