Where do I begin! Well, things started off great, the classes although unstructured were intense…read moreand I did see an improvement in myself weight wise and muscle tone wise. This gym and the people who work in it gave off the impression that they genuinely cared, but like many other places they only cared when they were getting paid. When I started I was told that any personal/financial issues I had with proof would be considered and I could rework my payments or put them off for some time. Now, this ended up happening for me since I was in school I had to quit my job. I quit my job in October, but still I did not ask them to stop with their automatic payments until January when I could no longer afford it. I contacted the gym, zero help. The staff there always redirect you to the "billing company" they gave me a dead end phone # and a generic gmail address. After multiple attempts to contact them they finally responded to an email where they asked for proof that I was no longer working AND proof that I was in school. I thought it odd but I went ahead and did it anyway. I submitted all the appropriate paperwork and was sent in writing that my payments would stop until I was done with school. NOT EVEN A WEEK LATER, a payment was again deducted from my bank account. I contacted the gym and again the staff that pretended to be so nice and courteous could be of NO help to me whatsoever, I had to call the billing company on that BOGUS number they gave me. Funny that as soon as I told the woman at the gym that I was going to contact my bank and file a complaint with them she wanted to be helpful. I stopped responding to her and immediately called my bank. When the bank finally got someone on the phone, they said they had "no record" of my payments being put on hold. When I read them the e-mail I received from them stating otherwise they were quick to magically find it. Meanwhile, I have the woman from the gym messaging me and telling me SHE had taken care of it for me. I mean it just doesn't get better than this people. Do yourself a favor, save your money, time, and frustration and get yourself a regular gym membership something like this where you're stuck for a year with crappy service, crappy location, and shitty people just is NOT worth it. I have learned my lesson. For the amount I was paying with what I received it was in no way worth it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CROCK OF SHIT AND THESE CROOKS!!!!!!

Not only are the instructors great but all of the attendees are too. I would recommend for anyone at any stage.

North South is a fantastic place to train jiu jitsu. I have been a member at the school since July…read more2018. And it has had an incredibly positive impact across many facets of my life. The schedule has a well-attended 6 a.m. class for local commuters (it's one of the few times I know I can get on the mat) as well as competition classes and extra-curricular strength training and stretching classes. The school has cultivated a great community that supports all levels (and age groups) of jiu jitsu from high-level competitors to novices just finding the sport. Adam and Karen, the owners and head coaches, provide excellent instruction and truly care about their students. When I competed in a tournament in Manhattan, Adam went with me to coach from the rail. I was the only student competing that day and he still made time, away from his own family and commitments, to head into the city. Last, the kids program is great. The coaches create a fun atmosphere that is still conducive to learning and building their skills in a safe manner. If you're curious about training, I highly suggest checking out the school.
