Worthless company. Purchased some tunes from them for a '22 F250 7.3. The tunes were fine for normal driving, but as soon as I towed with them (yes, the tow tunes), there were shifting issues. Reached out and they attempted to revise, but when I told them it wasn't any better and running stock was, they started getting pissed and blaming me. I offered to have them drive it, or at the very least discuss over the phone, they further refused. They then blamed me for not driving around for a couple hundred miles to guess rpm shift points. Don't waste your time with them. If you need anything they will refuse. And of course, no refunds. Nothing but thieves. read more

Do not recommend this company. I purchased a tuner with 3 custom tunes. all was good until I had a check 4x4 error with my vehicle and a diagnostic scan tool would not communicate with my truck. I figured out if I removed the tune returned to stock it allowed the tool communicate, uploaded the tune again and no communication. They locked my module and their advise to return to stock drive the vehicle till it acts up again to diagnose. This takes time and money for shops to do. I asked them to adjust the tune to allow diagnostics but they won't respond to my message. There is no reason for this, so I recommend get your tuning done elsewhere. I edited this review and put it up to a 4 star review as someone else from the company reached out to me and made things right. he revised my tunes to allow a diagnostic tool to connect to my truck. Really wish the 1st person I was emailing would have done this to resolve the issue quickly instead of getting the response I received but again they made it right. This would be perfect if I didn't have to really escalate the issue to get it resolved. read more

Would not recommend, they apparently don't know how to tune a basic GMC. Once you pay them there customer service goes downhill, you wait all day trying to get ahold of someone and at the end of the day your tune has been ready they just typed in the wrong email even though you send them your stock file from your email. Once you upload your tune your car won't even idle long enough to log it and what do you know there's no one to get ahold of. The next morning they say they will get you a revised tune within the hour. You spend all day checking your email, calling with no answer, leaving voicemails to finally get ahold of someone at the end of the day again for them to say it's been done not sure why they didn't send it. Upload revised tune still extra crappy, car can hardly idle. Ended up taking car to a local tuner where I should've gone in the first place, he turned something off on there tune just to get car to drive off trailer and then got it dialed in perfect. He was very surprised on some of the things he saw on there tune. read more

Called to buy some parts as a surprise for my husbands birthday, and 2 of the prices online were not correct and was told a price 2 times more then the original online listed price. What a scam company. I read other reviews state the same problem so this is not a accident. read more

Bad customer service. I have called left messages regarding my order but still have not gotten a response back. It has been two weeks and nothing. I emailed them proof that my truck was not registered in California which is why they have not sent my tuner. If they would check their email and messages, they would know to send out my stuff. Hopefully they can send me my tuner soon so I can actually review the product. read more

I'd like to report a totally positive experience with 5 Star Tuning! Richie was very informative and patient while answering questions before I decided to buy a tune for my vehicle. I've never done anything like this, so it was intimidating, but I'll tell you, 5 Star makes it a great experience! I bought the tune, and after the purchase they helped me dial in my tune to suit my needs (I mostly drive like a grandpa, but like to have fun every once in a while...) I recently bought a 21' Ranger Lariat 4x4 , I was disappointed with the power of the 2.3L after the first few days. "Until" I installed the tune from 5 star, Tires spinning in 2nd gear every-time, even with the 285/70/17s. A WELL SPENT INVESTMENT, I actually disliked the Ranger more then my EX-Wife, because of her uneven power surge, and yes it applies for both. No luck with support trying to unlock a device when the original owners vehicle got reflashed. Even with receipts and all they just wouldn't want to help with resetting it. Pretty bad customer service, safe to say I'll unlock elsewhere and won't be purchasing their tunes for my new ranger. read more

Had my F150 tuned there and the service was amazing. The truck runs like a scalded dog. Not sure what kind of fairy dust they used but it is a night and day difference. Took my GMC Van to 5 Star Tuning for some engine and transmission tuning. They assigned an employee "Price", who had just been hired at the time and had virtually no training or experience. He could never get my engine or transmission to perform the way I wanted--in fact it was worse in every way. Could have even possibly done damage to my transmission. After nearly two years of trying to work with Price and get the appropriate adjustments, I brought it to the owner's attention, Price's incompetence and lack of training and that he shouldn't have been trying to custom tune any vehicles. The owner assigned "Jacob" to try to tune it. Jacob was extremely rude, took offense, and seemed to try to blame me for their incompetence. Apparently Jacob took offense at this, got aggressive, and blamed me. He showed me a very poor attitude. Even when I brought this to the owner's "Mike" attention, he didn't seem to really care about any of it, even though he seemed like a nice guy. My vehicle is still not tuned correctly. THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU FOLKS. I suggest you look for another place of business. You should never be treated this way as a customer. read more

Ordered my tunes online. Got them fast. I did my tune revisions during covid, just ended up being bad timing. But they where still great and got it back to me in the time I was told. The e50 tune for the f150 has been great. No issues so far. read more

Can't really comment on how good the tunes are as I cant get them downloaded to my tuner. Ordered custom tune for my new 2019 Ranger. Still waiting for it. Was 1st sent email saying here are your tunes with no link, Then was sent 2nd email with direct link to download tune. When accessed it diverts me to google drive sign in. When signed in it says you need permission to access this. Of course it is Fri so I can't reach anyone until Monday. The downloading of tunes should be much easier. Can't recommend. read more

Have had several vehicles tuned by the 5 Star team. They recently did an exhaust, intake and tune on my 18 2.7L. The truck shifts very smoothly, has great throttle response and you can now really notice the torque! Looking forward to adding more and getting more out of my vehicle. read more
