    Vegan gelato

Delicious gelato perfect for a hot day or any time really! This spot has plenty of vegan and/or gluten free options. The cones and edible spoons are also vegan!

5 Terre Gelateria offered delicious gelato in the gorgeous town of Manarola. On a hot day, this was the perfect cool treat to enjoy on our walk back to the train. I had their signature lemon flavor and their cherry flavor. It was perfectly creamy and refreshing! Great selection of flavors, including lactose free options too. Staff was very friendly!! Gelato served with a side of unbeatable scenery!

Delicious gelato! We came here a couple of times and tried different flavors. LOVED the coconut one!

OH MY. You need to come here. Cookies is the best flavor, but they have several choices to please anybody. The staff are super nice and speak English.

Read about this place on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a go! I accidentally ran into this place, forgetting which village it was in but so happened that I got lucky! The flavors they had today were very simple, such as strawberry, cherry, chocolate, mint, etc. Nothing too out of the ordinary even though I have heard they have a 5 terre flavor. Got the kiwi and fior di latte; 2.50 euros for two scoops in a cup. YUM. They perfectly paired well together and this is the first time I had kiwi in a sorbet/gelato form. They charge .20 for each taste and add an extra .50 if you want a waffle cone. Very small place but not very hard to miss!

This entire little shop in Cinque Terre's village of Manarola was also entirely gluten free. I read about 5Terre on someone's gluten free travel blog and am so grateful for the suggestion. I had my first cannelloni since being diagnosed gluten intolerant. Helpful tip from the blog I read: There are two Gelateria Cinque Terres, the gluten free one is the one closest to the sea (turn left out of the train station, not right). Also, it opens at 11 NOT 9, as it says on Tripadvisor.

Gluten free cone and spoon. Gelato.

Heaven on earth. The gelato was insanely good. Everything there is gluten-free, including the waffle cones, and other cookies and waffles that they sell. They also have a range of cannolis. Absolutely delicious.

Gelato in Italy. Gelato in Cinque Terre. Gelato in the sun. Gelato by the sea. Gelato is... JUST FINE BY ME! Dark chocolate + Caffe flavors in a small cone and served by a sweet, nice smiling Italian lady? She even let me practice my Italian a little bit. Count me in! €2.20 for 2 scoops. JUST FINE BY ME -- Gelateria!

Kiwi and lemon gelato (in cup) and fior di latte (in cone).

Perfetto! My husband and I enjoyed gelato as an afternoon snack at Cinque Terre Gelateria. I ordered the fior di latte, and my husband ordered kiwi and lemon gelato. Both were amazing. I'd heard of fior di latte gelato but had never tried it before -- I'm so glad I did! Not only was it very vanilla in flavor, but it was extremely rich and extremely creamy. I was pleasantly surprised at the kiwi flavor for my husband's gelato. I would have expected kiwi gelato to have a light flavor, but BAM! -- his gelato was super flavorful and delicious! We also ate gelato the day prior in Corniglia, and the Cinque Terre Gelateria gelato in Manarola definitely wins.

Fast forward to now, and it's not quite the same. The staff isn't very friendly, and trust me, that matters way more than you think when you're on vacation. The gelato itself is still solid, especially if you're into fruity flavors, but it doesn't have that old charm that made it memorable. Definitely good for a quick fruity fix, but "service with a smart smile" was lacking compared to the way it used to be.

I didn't expect to like it as much as I did, but almost every review I read mentioned it as a must-try, and I'm so glad I did. It's a strong but delightful cinnamon flavor, and it's not overpowering. Our eyes widened as we ate it, because it tasted exactly the way a cinnamon stick smells. They somehow transformed a basic common spice into something new and exotic. I've never eaten anything like it before. Meanwhile, my husband got a lemon slush because we were hot and sweaty from hiking between towns. It hit the spot perfectly and was so refreshing without being too sweet. Even though I loved my gelato, I also couldn't resist stealing more than a few sips. The location is perfect too, just near the center of town and also near a ledge by the water where you can sit while you people-watch and enjoy your sweet treat. Definitely make this your gelato stop in Cinque Terre. Order the cinnamon, and I promise you won't be disappointed!
