This was our first escape room adventure. We really enjoyed it. We went during a weekday. It was fairly quite and we did each of the 3 adventures with just our group which was nice (they will combine groups up to 12 people if it is busy). The challenges were fun and most were not too difficult although there were a couple of tough puzzles. The staff was friendly and played their parts well. Overall it made for a fun afternoon. My only complaint would be that it was a little expensive (especially if you were only thinking about doing one of the attractions). read more

I took a group of teenage boys (14-15 yrs old) and 2 young girls (10 yrs old) to 5 Wits in Albany, NY. Both age group had a great time. The kids enjoyed solving the problems to escape from one room to the next. The special effects and interactive experience was phenomenal. I recommend requesting that you enter with only the people in your group to make the experience worthwhile. I especially would like to compliment all the people who worked there to make it a fun experience for our group. Alexis, Kayla, and Todd made sure that we had a great time. This is one of the best activity places I have been to in Albany! My sister, boyfriend and I came here for a night and we started at 8:30. It took us till 10:15 to finish all three and the store manager actually kept it open pash their 9:30 closing just for us! I visited 5 Wits last night and completed the "Deep Space" adventure -- it was an absolute blast! The staff are extremely welcoming and the concept is unique and fun. It feels like you're in your own interactive video game. I now plan on going back to complete the remaining two adventures and would also love to visit the other 5 Wits locations in NY. Went to front desk 4 times. Told me to come back at this time etc . Oh sorry we don't reserve times. You have to be in line. They told me the last time I went to the desk that they have a party going in at 4:30 to come back ( for the 5th time ) should be able to go at 4:45. Went back was in line. Told me I have to wait again for the 6th time that there are 2 more groups ahead of me and no one was in line behind me ( when they told me they don't hold times u have to be in line ). So after waiting 5 + hrs to get in we walked out. Very disappointed and un-organized on a Saturday after wasting 5 hrs in the mall. Asked for my money back. Had tokens for 2 adventures for 4 people. read more

This place is freaking awesome! I came here while on vacation just on a whim and me and my friends had a blast! There are really fun challenges that require some teamwork and it truly brings friends together. 10/10 would go again! We did all three rooms and were thoroughly impressed. read more

My boyfriend and I have now done all 3 adventures and had a great time with each one! Tonight we did the space adventure. We'd done the other 2 on different nights, just the two of us, and asked if we could wait to just do it as a pair. The manager, Zephyr, said we were welcome to wait, but no guarantee we'd get in alone, and he mentioned this one was better with a bigger group. He had a very trust worthy face so we partnered up with a pair of friends who were in line and went to space! He was right, and it was awesome! After a victory and a dance party at the end, we've decided we'll need to come back and do them all again because my boyfriend is obsessed with finding all the secrets. I would definitely recommend a trip to 5 Wits for anyone who wants something fun and different to do. read more

I was there on Monday, January 16th with my sister aunts. We did the space adventure and the medieval castle adventure. We loved them both!!! We will definitely be coming back to do the ancient Egyptian tomb adventure!!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to have a blast!!! read more

I took my work associates to 5 Wits a few weeks back for a team building experience. We completed all three of the adventures that 5 Wits had to offer. While "Deep Space" seemed to be the overall favorite of the group, all of them were quite fun and challenging at the same time. Zephyr, does an amazing job with the intro stories to each adventure and takes in any feedback you might have. I would gladly come back another time with anyone interested in a fun activity to kill a little time and get a solid brain workout all at once. read more

Me and my friend have been eyeing this place since it first opened and we finally got to go. It was amazing! Even though you can have up to 12 people doing each adventure at a time we were still able to get through all of them with just the 2 of us. I'm now planning on taking my sister and her friend as a graduation gift. It also is a good price to do all 3, you don't have to do them all in one day if you don't want to since you get tokens. read more

Had a really good time at 5 Wits. My 21 year old daughter and I did the dragon's castle option. We had many, many laughs. I learned I do not possess any logical thinking, whereas she was excellent at it. It was pretty challenging and would likely be better with more than 2 people as there is quite a bit to do in a short period of time. However, I do have to say, I would not bring a very small child into this option because it was dark (lights out) at times and a little scary. No, a guy in a fur suit dressed as a dragon does not pop out at you, which I must say was my biggest fear! It is a little pricey - probably best to buy the package of 3 tokens versus just doing one game but my daughter is only home for a short while. I would go again. I recommend viewing the preview videos on the side of the entrance to get a glimpse of each theme. I have heard the space theme is good for kids. There is a party room therein and I must say, for the preteen through teen this would be an awesome party. It takes about 30 minutes to do the activity if you are not good at it and need help with the clues. A very unique experience that would be an excellent team building activity for high school youth groups, workplaces, etc. read more

This was so much fun! We took our 10 and 12 year old. They had a blast and so did the parents! Staff was very nice, fun and helpful.

My childhood friend and I went yesterday to celebrate my 60th birthday. We loved games and adventures and LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS!!! We never stopped laughing or being a little scared. We only did 1 "the tomb" b/c we want to come back with our grown kids but could have easily done all 3 adventures. We were alone but you can bring a group or be grouped with up to 12 people. I don't think there is enough action for 12 people and people may get in the way. Go early or pay extra so you can be with just your friends. Couples could have contests for the fastest time and bragging rights. We were told that there are different scenarios so each play could be slightly different. The staff was really into it which added to the fun. I highly recommend 5 Wits it was a blast. Only include your fun friends or family. read more

A group of friends and I completed all three adventures and it was fantastic! The puzzles were fun while still a little challenging. The humor and interactive nature of each were wonderful. The host did a PHENOMENAL job, I wish I had gotten his name because even though we were dorks and went through all three within a hour and a half, he was still as charming and played along with the theme giving us his A-game. The facility was clean, there were quarter lockers to put away our stuff, and the staff were all just phenomenal. I highly recommend 5 Wits for anyone, the adventures were still fun for a group of adults and I can only imagine how much fun a group of kids or teens would have. Staff was very rude. They insisted that we go into the room with other people even though we told them we were willing to wait so we could just do it as a family. They proceeded to tell us that sometimes they make a dozen people go in together and that they are general admission. I had already done the other 2 rooms. I can't imagine doing it with more people! That would totally take away from the experience. And when a family tells you that they are willing to wait, why not let them wait??? We walked out without doing the 3 rd room. I will make sure all my friends and family know what happened. Poor poor business practice! read more

Today I was up in the crossgates mall location with my fiancé , sister, and 3 year old son (his birthday)! My sister and I decided we wanted to give this a shot! We were greeted and treated very well by your counter staff. This was about 4 pm Saturday February 4 2017 if that helps! We purchased the 3 room deal for all 3 quests! We than choose to only do one for the allotted time we had which was the tomb! We were getting ready to get paired up with another set of people whom were less than happy about us joining them and quiet frankly Mr granite hat dead fish hand shake would have ruined our experience all together! So he made a fuss we than said hey we will wait for the next game so we don't have to be with set blow hard! Your employee kalie handled this situation with extreme professionalism and class that I am taking the time to write set review because I hate doing these and half the time it's complete bs, due to the fact on how this 1 employee upheld herself and maintained professionalism with Mr granite hat douche bag treated her! By the way we kicked his ass in score! So thank you Kalie sorry if I botched your name and we will be back this coming Saturday for much needed adult time with a group! See you there!
