We sat down and the bartender was chatting with patrons at the corner. She turned and looked at us, but then turned away and continued talking to the patrons at that end of the bar (at the "L"). She then turned and looked at us again and the guy setting at the very end got up and went to the restroom. He returned and she looked at us a third time. After that we got up and left. I used to think that The Abbey was just a bar (by no means a bad thing!) but I stopped in for lunch and had a spectacular pulled pork sandwich a few days ago. Dare I say it... The best pulled pork sandwich in downtown Menomonie?! The sauce sounds like it would be weird because there is mustard in it but I can confirm that it is delicious and really makes the sandwich. Props to The Abbey for having a limited menu and having a few really good dishes instead of a bunch of average bar food. Apart from the atmosphere, food and staff there are really good drink specials at The Abbey as well! Every day there is a near unbearable special. When school is in session these deals are definitely taken advantage of by the Stout students.
