Been wanting to come here for some time. Would have rated 5 stars had the kitchen been open as I was really looking forward to trying their food however we got food from the food truck outside which was still good. Will revise once I go when the kitchen is open

Bucknuckles - you did not disappoint. This bar/restaurant is literally in the middle of nowhere town Wisconsin! We had quite the hike to get to this gem and after a long cruise with no service we made it! The restaurant is super goofy inside. Strange decorations allow throughout allow your eyes to wandering around. This includes old missiles and a bar plastered in pennies. We were there in the dead of winter, but I imagine when they open the garage door downstairs in the summer that it's a cool spot to hang out. At our table we had a variety of food. The cheese curds were fantastic as well as the onion rings! They have exotic burger options which were fascinating and delicious...where does one source camel meat in the middle of no where. None the less - all of us had fantastic meals. The service was slow, but we weren't looking to rush through our meal. It's not an in and out type of joint and I think life needs a few of those! We'll be back Bucknuckle!

Lots of memorabilia from long defunct breweries. My Bloody Mary was excellent as were my fish tacos. There are multiple options for pescatarians though probably a bit more challenging for vegans, which is not unusual in this part of the world. While we visited their onsite brewing was on hiatus because they need to be re-licensed after the ownership change. Looking forward to that happening!

I had the soup special, a bowl of the French Onion Soup, and my wife had the Pub Burger. Although both dishes were presented attractively, neither one had a "wow" factor, and in fact, were bland and lacking in flavor. It's too bad because,I was really in the mood for Onion Soup. The onions were cooked well, but the soup really was lacking in taste. I think the broth tasted like canned broth and did not have any depth of flavor. My wife felt the same way about the hamburger; it also was bland. So neither dish was particularly memorable. So one less star for food. They also loose another star for their continued surcharge for both a credit card and a debit card. When I rated this place two years ago, they were charging a 5% "employee pay supplement" which is no longer legal. However, it is also illegal to charge a 3% surcharge on both credit cards and debit cards (this new law was effective in January of 2025). Restaurants CAN charge for credit cards, but it is illegal to surcharge for debit cards. In fact, not only is this a Minnesota law, it is a Federal law, and part of the rules for Visa and Mastercard. Another option is that restaurants CAN give a cash discount from the menu, but to do that the menu must show prices using the credit card price and state that they give a (in this case) a 3% discount for cash (note: a menu discount, not a menu surcharge). If a credit or debit card is used, then it must match the MENU price and the check needs to show the menu price total, and separately show the cash discount. I tried to show the General Manager this law and explain it, but he was very dismissive and borderline rude. At first he tried to tell me their was a discount for paying in cash, so I asked him if that was discount off of the menu price, and he said no. A lack of a surcharge is NOT a discount; it is a surcharge!

She knew we'd wait and wait for everything, and kept smiling the whole time. After we received water and drinking it (waited 30mins after finishing) I flag down the hostess. Back rubs and phoney smilies and a "let me see if I can find a wait staff." "How about you take our drink order cuz the wait staff are everywhere and ignoring us and it's not busy. Even that kid who used to work at the Pier 4" comes out of my mouth. Drinks soon follow from a waitress we've not seen yet on the patio. She was good, but not enough to change the review. Food is 4 star:I ordered the shrimp po-boy, best I've had outside of Louisiana no kidding. 2 of my dining companions had the pasta al Alfresco and a burger was eaten by my semi vegetarian woman. I tried the pasta it wasn't bad, cooked perfectly al dente! The chef has a clue at this establishment. The rest have apparently never worked in a fine dining restaurant. Or even care about patrons dining experiences. The patio is exquisite and a great place to have a meal. If you're in town staying at a small bed-and-breakfast this might be a great place if you have time to have a wait until you get it meal. If you're just passing through, just pass through. We come to this area often and we'll stop back, I'll keep you updated. FYI: the table next to us asked for their wine twice in the time it took us to get our meal. Uncork grab two glasses, they'll wait for food if they're enjoying themselves.
