I rarely buy liquor and live so close to a grocery store that picking up wine there is my easiest bet more often than not. But since this place is next to the newly opened Civic, I saw them promoting the tasting on their social media as they plan to carry wines from this maker at their location once they are able to serve alcohol. Either way, I was around the way so I dropped by and was pleasantly surprised by how nice everyone was as well as the sense of community that felt present among folks that dropped by for the tasting. Most people I spoke with lived nearby and represented all walks of life. It was nice to just chit chat with folks and sample wine in a warm, cozy and unpretentious environment. I'll definitely be back to support now that I'm more aware of what they have to offer!

However, my nail salon is just a few businesses down, so I've dropped in once or twice for a mixer or a bottle of liquor if I'm entertaining. However, most recently I received some wine from here via Drizly delivery. I was actually pretty impressed by their wine selection, which I had never taken time to look at previously. I was able to buy a bottle of one of my favorites and also try a new wine that I had never seen before that I also really enjoyed. Thank you Drizly and Capitol Wine for keeping the wine flowing during this quarantine. With all of the virtual happy hours I've been going to, these bottles have really come in clutch (and the delivery time has been top notch!)

Despite being in a bit of a rough neighborhood (they have to buzz you in once they recognize you as a customer), I found it to have an AMAZING selection of liquors! You're not going to find 20 bottles of the same liquor here; it's just not that kind of store, and the footprint is pretty tight. D led me to one of each that she wholeheartedly endorsed. The price point for each was reasonable (i.e. she didn't foist their most expensive options on me) and both were great choices. The pinot noir she recommended I could just chug; it's that smooth. The shop is small but well-curated, and the advice is impeccable. I look forward to my next excuse to buy some booze.
