Really good beer! Friendly atmosphere. Nice little break from the slopes. Great views

    Deer under the ski lift.

This is a bar and snack bar at the top of Beech Mountain. The view is great. Patio seating is comfortable - no shade to speak of. A band was setting up for the afternoon. We ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a smoked sausage sandwich - both were very good. Beech Mountain is lovely in the summer. Ride the ski lift up to the top and quietly float over mountain bikers zig zagging downhill, deer, a hard working muskrat (perhaps.)

    Great view

Nice observation deck with great views. The beer was good, the sandwiches and wraps were tasty and the service was fast and efficient. We spent a nice sunny afternoon there.

Bar with a great view!! Definitely worth the $10 ski lift ride to the top of the mountain. They have cold beers from Beech Mountain brewery, ciders, wines. This place is a great hang out with corn hole, great music selections and friendly bartenders.

The bar, the deck, and the view!

The bar did a great job regulating crowds! There was a line to get in and groups that were together were allowed in to order drinks once the previous group left. The bartenders were professional and poured a good, strong drink !!! Prices are appropriate for a ski resort (read: a little high but the drinks are strong so...) The selection of liquor, beer, and snacks were perfect - the only thing better was the stools on the deck to lookout onto the long range Mountain View's. Excellent!! There are single use bathrooms there too, be prepared to wait in line for those. But you have great views and great drinks to tide you over in the meantime!

This bar is amazing with spectacular views! The bar tender was so friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed talking to him. They have clean bathrooms and comfy chairs to look out at the mountain. The bar is open year round so you can hit the slopes and then head up to the top to enjoy a drink. Every drink we had was expertly made and delicious. Go check it out for yourself!

If you're looking for a good time and amazing views, this place is it. Family friendly, corn hole, amazing beer, amazing service...our personal experience was Cam. Super accommodating (and handsome always a bonus) thank you for a great experience!

The 5506 bar is the absolute best.

Cam and Billy the bartenders are fantastic and the view is bar none. We love coming here and the view is better than anything I've ever seen.

Great views. Great day to have a beer outside sitting in tall Adirondack Chairs! Could use a little larger beer selection but I enjoyed what I had. I will go back!

Take the ski lift up to 5506' and enjoy the views (and a good drink)! Corn hole, picnic tables, and usually a band for entertainment.

We popped in before a late dinner reservation and I'm so glad we did, because they're only open Friday-Sunday from 5-9 PM--blink and you'll miss it. The vibes are immaculate. Think live music, low lighting, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer than you planned... and almost miss your dinner reservations lol.... The staff was beyond friendly, truly made us feel right at home from the second we walked in. We didn't order food since we were heading to dinner, but the chef was so proud of his menu that he brought out a sample of the soup of the night (some kind of green gourmet magic), and wow... it was delicious. It made us a little bummed that we had reservations and debate just staying and trying more of the food. Drinks were phenomenal, service was top-tier, and the whole experience just felt special. If you're in town while they're open, do not miss this spot. It's giving hidden gem vibes, it's giving main character energy vibes, it's giving... I need to go back immediately instead of writing this review lol

We tried three different entrees and each were unique and carefully prepared. I thought the complimentary soup was a great idea and we actually ordered a few bowls because it was so good. It was nice to have a quiet dinner, with jazz in the background and nice drinks in a place you can have good conversation over excellent food. Well done.!

Nothing at all fancy. Very expensive small portions. They had a blackberry old fashioned as a drink special. I love old fashioned but not flavored so I asked if a regular one could be made. What I got was bourbon on ice with a cherry. No orange peel, no muddled fruit, no orange bitters I could taste but at least the pour was decent. $12.00. As soon as our drinks hit we were asked if we were ready to order. We haven't been there 10 mins. I'm not a fan of that in any way. It's supposed to be a dining experience not fast food. So off to a weird start. After a second visit in 5 mins to order I asked for at least time to finish our cocktail. Why the rush? 8 tables were empty. I ordered the heirloom tomatoes app, $18! See photo and what I got was a bowl of chopped tomatoes in juice with olive oil and chunks of cheese. One step above a cold chunky tomato soup. The server did say it was "different" but $18 for 1 chopped tomato? I asked for salt as it was lacking but it was never brought. We ordered a bottle of wine called Caymus The Walking Fool Red Blend, menu price $100. It was very good so after a sip or two I looked it up on Vivino as I might buy some at retail. The retail price at Total Wine is $29.99! A $70 gouge mark up! Ouch. We like expensive wine and are aware of restaurant make up but $70? Now we are wondering what the main course is going to be like. We have growing discontent. I ordered the Ciopino $48.00. It was a tiny serving of tomato-ish broth, with 1 scallop, 2 shrimp and a tablespoon of codfish seasoned with slivers of fennel and a piece of bread. The piece of bread was the only reason you don't leave hungry after that dish. On a positive note the peach cake was pretty good. $12.00 Now my bill comes and there is a $7.71 Credit Card use charge. Jeeze, prolly won't go back.

'The Gamekeeper', what name could be more intriguing for a unique dining experience? I was not disappointed in the food. All selections were ideally prepared, seasonally balanced, and well paired. What I was really pleased about was the service. The staff elevate the entire experience. To name one or two would leave out what was an incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and cohesive Team. I would certainly recommend The Gamekeeper to anyone looking for the complete dining experience.

The wine and cocktails assistance was great and the mixed grill appetizers were perfect. The bison short ribs are killer. A very enjoyable evening. Everyone in the party raved about the meal and service. Bravo to the chef, staff and management. Our first trip to the area proved challenging on a rainy night in the mountains. We opted for transport via uber and Lyft services. FYI it's almost impossible to confirm service in Blowing Rock. With no show transportation at 9:30 pm the staff jumped into action. Lucky for us the one driver that did show agreed make 2 trips.
