The staff is very nice, the maintenance team is very quick - we had one issue and it was easily fixed on the same day. The apartment has nice renovated interior, and it's quiet here. I work from home, and I do not hear any noise except for maybe some trains and traffic outside - but that's pretty much everywhere the same if you live in a big city. They do not have the best bike storage here- it's a tiny room with only a couple of shelves (for such a big building), not super convenient to "park" your bike there, and the spots are not assigned to residents. This was not on our priority list anyway when we were looking for the place, and we have only one bike per family, so that's OK. In general the impression has been good so far, we like it here.

I have attached the photos they provided as "evidence". You can judge for yourself whether this justifies full replacement. Over multiple email exchanges, management could not describe the specific damage in writing, could not provide documentation proving the blinds were custom, and when I requested an invoice, admitted they did not have one, meaning I was charged before the replacement was even completed or documented. Draw your own conclusions about how this management company operates. And if you really have to live here, document everything before you move out, photograph every inch of your unit, and know your rights under the Chicago RLTO before signing anything here. p/s: What makes this worse is that none of this came after any prior notice or conversation. Their very first communication after my move-out immediately threatened collections and credit bureau reporting if I did not pay within 30 days. Whether this is intentional or simply a failure in their notification system, I don't know. Either way, tenants are blindsided with a payment deadline and a collections threat before they even know a balance exists.

I feel like the cool kid in class now amongst my friends, because I'm proud to bring my friends over to entertain; and its located 2 blocks from the el, close to Roscoe Villiage, and row of bars & restaurants along Lincoln Ave. And as Guy mentioned below, neighbors are awesome, and have, probably, the most beautiful dogs I've ever seen. As we meandered through the unique spaces we were enamored by the look, the feel, the sense of community. There is a genuine sense of home from throughout the private residences and common spaces. The concept pulled in "like and like" as the owners at 1800 represent genuine, unique and compassionate. It is so amazing to share skyline lit, roof top wedding and birthday celebrations, holiday open loft spaces, a friendly hello on an early Saturday morning and a "concierge" staff that serves with delight. For real. We saw "loft" spaces all over the city (due diligence) and were continually pulled back. From selections that satisfied the smallest details to service and financing we were completely served. We worked alongside of friendly faces who guided us all along the way. They genuinely got to know us. The Kopley team led by Stefanos Karavolos is built on honesty, integrity and passion. These core tenets thrive in the residences that are created. Laughter, fun and well serving our interests were included in the deal. My agent, Cindy Wilson, advised me to bid very high right at the outset, via an escalation rider. Then the sellers of my unit refused to allow the rider. At that point, Cindy refused to offer ANY input to help shape my bid. She had no "Plan B" to help me think through my decision in this pressured situation -- and she made no attempt to come up with one. Other agents I later spoke with found it inexplicable that no input was offered. Complaints to Cindy and to the team lead, Amanda Austin, went unanswered.

Here's the other wonderful thing about living here, the staff!! Darnell, who sits in the lobby and welcomes so many people with is genuine and professional demeanor will be missed. . I can't say enough about Darnell, he's been here since the beginning like we have and I will really miss seeing him regularly. My BF and I agree it was always nice to come home from whatever and have Darnell's great smile waiting for you, corny maybe but I consider Darnell a friend, he's really just the best. The maintenance department is top notch, if you need something fixed, they're on it, plus, always friendly when you see them. This place is 5 star through and through. I could not have been happier. DO NOT BUY FROM ALAN CANDEA!…read more We bought new construction from him and his lackey, Chris, in 2023. They lie, cut corners, and refuse to be held responsible for their lousy construction. When we were looking at the unfinished unit, he promised the building would have a Butterfly system, instead we have a call box with no video. And it is not even hard wired so the plug falls out from the outlet there is no way to enter the building. When told he needed to fix it, he put tape on it and labeled it "do not remove." He promised to furnish the entry way, it is still empty. There is a storage room, the lock was installed wrong so it gets jammed often. He refused to fix it. The lock for our unit was also installed upside down, and jammed. So we had to hire a locksmith to fix it. Every unit had issues with the sealing on the windows and we had moisture damage on the window trims, this took MONTHS to remedy because Alan refused to admit it was a problem. The Internet cables were left uncut and dangling from the walls, had to hire an electrician to come and finish what Alan could not. The patio is on raised tiles. Throughout the building, we have over 50 tiles that were cracked or damaged on install. Several people fell through those tiles and were injured. When it was time to form an HOA, we managed to get someone from all 18 units present so we could elect a board. Alan actually forgot to bring his lawyer, so it was postponed by several weeks. ' He did not even have all of the fire extinguishers hung up in the building, we had to wait until a management company was hired to get that done. He promised to power wash the garage, still not done. I recently found a tube of tooth paste wedged in between the sink countertop and the cabinets below. It was sealed that way, I cannot remove it. When I reached out to Alan about this, I got no response. DO NOT BUY FROM ALEN CANDEA.

I understand that you also have been questioning the door staff at the building. Further communication from you will be considered harassment of our staff. [...] We can be of no help to you."
