Absolutely terrible place to buy a car. We purchased a 2014 Subaru back in June 2020 for 10k after taxes/registration/mandatory warranty and interest the total was closer to 17k. My mother in law purchased the car in her name as a buy here pay here- we put $4000 down and did $312 a month. The vehicle was driven by myself and her son. My mother In law passed away in November of 2021 and we were told as long as the payments kept coming they didn't care where the car was. They still received payments for a loan of a woman who was passed away for months. In January we went to the dealership to try to get the loan and car transfer to our names- they were willing to sign the car over to us by making us repurchase it for 3k more than what was owed as well as they were planning to sign my mother in laws name on the title after she had passed away to sign the car over to us. They also ran my boyfriends credit to see what kind of vehicle they could get him approved for incase we decided to trade it In. This was a hard hit to his credit as they tried multiple banks for a loan. The whole buy here pay here thing Is a joke they would rather go through a bank than finance the car themselves. We had them do some Warranty work in the mean time, they had to car for over a week we paid the deductible and we got the car back. The issues we told them about were never fixed or addressed, the control arm needed to be replaced as well as it had a terrible oil leak/burned oil. It still made horrible squeaking and clicking sounds and we turned and we needed to constantly put more oil in it. They were supposed to have the car for a few days and ended up always having excuses for it not being done and they had it for over 2 weeks. After we got the car back before they would sign it over they told us it needed to be inspected and insured- we got that done the next day. We had already set up auto pay and gave them all the information they needed as well as gave them the title they claimed they needed to sell us the car. Weeks went by and we would not get in touch about signing it over to ourselves- we finally were able to speak to someone different and they tried to help us. We looked at another vehicle they had just gotten in, a truck that was $19,999. They told us they would do anything possible to get us in the truck since we had a great payment history with them. As well as told us they would give us $5500 trade in for the vehicle we still had that only had about 4k left on the loan. They gave us a 45 day temporary registration since they were closing until the following Wednesday and it was Friday. After we left once again they ran my boyfriends credit for 4 different banks looking for a loan. This again screwed up his credit since it was the second time in a few months he had multiple hard inquiry's on his credit report. The loan they got us was way out of the budget we had discussed so it was not doable. We got a call later that night saying they wanted the car back since it was their liability since the car was not in our name although this was the second time we tried to get the car in our name or trade it in. After about 2 weeks of going back and fourth with them they kept telling us they would work with us and never did- They ended up taking the car back although we paid over $11k towards it. They refused to sign the loan over to us or let us get the car registered in our names. Absolutely shady business practices- openly talking about forging my mothers in laws name on the title to sign it over- trying to resell the car to us to make more money instead of transferring the loan, just giving a 45 day registration tag they printed without making a copy or anything to make it legitimate, forcing us to buy the warranty and not fixing a single issue that should Have been covered ETC. Also they all lie to your face saying they are the owner or co owner when they are not, promising to work with you all while screwing you over every step of the way. It's a sad world we live in that these are common business practices. read more

BUYER BEWARE. We purchased a 2010 Tundra from 613, and have had problems since the day after we bought it. The normal dents and dings, random paint sheens on the fender, and squeaky brakes are to be expected on a 12 year old car, and we take no issue with those. We live out of state, and the truck has failed our state's (MA) safety inspection. It is now legally undrivable. It has holes in the top of the muffler (as well as 4 other issues we told them about), which the dealership originally said they would fix if we drove it back to them. But the exhaust leaks directly into the cab of the truck, giving us headaches, burning eyes, and a burning plastic smell when it's driven. When I told Mark that, he suggested I roll down one front window and the opposite back window to let the exhaust out. Um...what? No. They also refused to bring a mechanic in over a weekend, so I would have to miss work, pull my kids out of school, drive 3.5 hours each way, rent a car to drive home, pay said rental car while they worked on our truck, and drive the 3.5 hours each way BACK to pick it up once they fixed it. The absolute WORST dealership I have EVER dealt with. Complaints have been filed with the BBB and the NY Attorney General's office, with copies of all correspondence showing when issues were reported and the lack of response from the dealership. Buy your car literally ANYWHERE else. read more

They will lie to you, they will make you think they are helping you when in fact they are defrauding the warranty company and , when you have had your car fixed for the 4th time they will laugh in your face and tell you to suck it up and get a rental. How does it get any better than this? The staff member that helped me to pick out a car was so much fun to talk to on the test drives. I came in for Lexus or Nissan and found my dream ride in a Jeep. It is not your regular Jeep but one that turns heads when you drive down the street. I had a beautiful red Juke and got an amazing trade in. The financing was a magical. To work his magic it took a minute because I am self-employed which was very confusing as I work for a big company. So after the credit union figured out the reality of my situation and lots of patience from the finance guy, who I bugged for two days - I signed on the dotted line and now driving a dream Jeep. The Jeep was so clean and shinny, I felt like I owned the road. They put new tires, wipers and batteries in the key fobs. These guys are a joke. They began their downward spiral by scheduling my test drive at the same time as another customer for the same vehicle, They gladly took the deposit on the car, then decided that they wouldn't be able to deliver the car, something they had already said they would do. Then they needed another two weeks to get the title and registration straightened out. it wasn't until i took two consecutive days off to go fix it for them that i was able to get the car. Their sales staff are liars, and the rest don't understand how the dmv works. When i finally had the key in my hand, the car had a dead battery. Not worth the time or effort to shop with. They'd have to pay me to get my business again, and then only if they had a different staff. read more

I just read the response from the owner to my post about our bad experience and it was filled with lies. So to correct the record, I'll start from the beginnjng when we were first considering buying the car. When we test drove the car it had a terrible vibration. When we got back to the dealership my husband, who happens to be a mechanical engineer, discovered that the lug nuts were not screwed down and the wheels could have fallen off while we were test driving it. The Manager, Chris, told us "we go over our cars with a fine toothed comb." Well apparently they missed the loose lug nuts - and dry rotted tires that my husband also noticed, which are a common cause of tire failure and car accidents. So they replaced the tires and said they would have the car aligned by Meineke in Kerhonkson. We bought the car on August 26th. A few days after we purchased the car it died 20 miles from our home. We had to have it towed back to the dealership and arrange for transportation home. Chris, the Manager, told us the VW dealer had done some electrical work on the car and they were to blame (My guess now is he lied and it was their own negligence). Then in November, less than 3 months after we purchased the car, we were out and it began snowing, the first snow of the year. We bought the car for our son and fortunately he wasn't driving because the car went out of control. Had my son been driving I doubt he could have kept the car on the road. My husband took a look at the car and discovered that the new tires, only 2+ months old were worn down to the steal belts. He surmised that the car had not been aligned as Manager Chris had said they had. So I called Meineke, which is where 613 said they have their cars aligned and asked if the car had been aligned and the service rep said they had not aligned any Passats for 613 Automotive during the time in question. So we had new tires put on and took the car to be aligned. The owner of the service center in Liberty, NY worked on the car for a long time and finally said they could not align the car, that it was the worst misalignment they had seen in 40 years and that we should return the car, that it was a dangerous vehicle. The mechanics were all standing around marveling at how awful it was. But my son loved the car so we took it to another service center in Monticello with more advanced equipment for a second try and they were finally able to align the car. But we were also told that the car had obviously had a serious accident because bondo was found in the car. 613 Manager, Chris, lied and said the car had been in no serious accidents. The owner of the service center in Monticello was very angry about 613 selling us a car in that condition and offered to go to 613 Automotive with us to get our money back. He also told me to tell the owners at 613 Automotive that "if they thought they were going to come to Monticello and pull that crap, they should think again!" (Apparently 613 has opened another dealership in Monticello.) It was at that point, less than 3 months from the date of purchase, that I called and spoke with one of the owners, Levi Hecht, asking him to reimburse us for the tires and the alignment work, which came to almost $900. Mr. Hecht said that he would reimburse us for our expenses if we sent him the receipts. Unfortunately, my mother had a serious stroke right around that time and everything was put on hold while I was caring for her for an extended time in her home upstate and I didn't send them. I didn't think it would be a problem since I had been assured, first by Chris, the Manager, that they would take care of any problems, and then by Mr Hecht that he would reimburse us. So it was the better part of a year before I sent the receipts by certified mail to Levi Hecht. Much to my surprise, instead of being reimbursed I received a very nasty phone call from the other owner, Roger, who badgered me, asking, bizarrely, why we bought a dangerous car. The real question is why are Roger and Mr Hecht selling dangerous cars and having their Manager tell lies that they're safe? Roger offered me $500 (a clear admission of their wrong doing), and I refused because they were responsible for the dangerous driving experience we had and the bills we incurred. We did not sue 613 Automotive, although we could have, but if any other customers who were lied to and had bad experiences would like to join us for a protest this spring, a group of mothers who care about lying used car salesmen selling dangerous cars to their children will be carrying signs and protesting outside 613 Automotive. Our children's lives are more important than money. read more

I purchased a 2005 Subaru Outback from them in April. I was fine with replacing the 4 dry rotted tires, one of which was the wrong size. I was fine with fixing the gas tank door which wouldn't close. I was fine with fixing the hatch, which wouldn't open. But when the check engine light came on the day after I got it home, that was a problem. I took it back (37 miles from my home) and left it with Chris for a week. His "mechanic" said he fixed an O2 sensor. Drove back and got the car. Two weeks later, check engine light. Back to Monticello, the "mechanic" supposedly put in a new O2 sensor this time. Three days later, check engine light. I went without the car for two weeks while the "mechanic" put in a new catalytic converter. Back to Monticello to pick it up, and as I drove away the check engine light came on, and by the time I got home the exhaust pipe was dragging on the ground. I took it to a real mechanic and there was a hole in the exhaust that cost me $936 to repair, which lasted 2 weeks before the check engine light came back on. AND, the AC stopped working. I now have to pay $300 dollars for a new O2 sensor, and I was told that the catalytic converter that 613 put in, may not be compatible. Fingers crossed. read more

I looked at many different online dealers for the used car I wanted. I visited a few and was treated poorly by the staff. I was losing faith in the whole online process when I finally went to 613. The staff was pleasant, showed me the car and let me test drive it. There was NO pressure or mention of money till I was ready. All in all it was a terrific experience. I will keep them in mind for my next purchase and I recommend them highly. My only complaint is that the office was a bit chilly for my liking considering it was like 40 degrees outside. read more
