Our garage door folded in the middle and collapsed on itself, leaving the garage exposed. There are so many companies online advertising emergency services and after hours repair, but we couldn't find anyone to come out at 10pm. I took off work the next day to get the door taken care of, but after calling around all morning, we couldn't find anyone who would install a new door the same day. On about our 20th call, we finally tried 614 Garage Door, and I am so happy we did. They were the ONLY company in Columbus who would install a door same day for us. Not only that, but they showed up within a couple hours and completed the job quickly. AND, they came in at $100 less than the next best quote we got. Some of the other companies we talked to said that anyone who installed same day and gave us such a low price would do low quality work, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Chris and Pete did a great job explaining our options, and didn't try to pressure us toward a bigger sale when we told them we wanted the most basic door. Even though we got the cheapest door, they still reinforced it with steel struts, and also took the time to adjust our chain, check the motor, etc. We really got the sense that they take pride in doing quality work. Based on the great service we received, I would expect to pay a little more, so it was really amazing that they were by far the lowest price as well. They didn't add any emergency service fee like some of the other companies talked about. The quote Chris gave us is exactly what Pete charged out the door. Great company! Chris was prompt, polite, and very considerate of my time. My garage door would not go up, it was broken and my car was still inside my garage and I needed to drop my dog off at daycare and go to work ( I had a 9:30 meeting that I couldn't be late for ). Chris made it to my house in record time, fixed my garage door and did not take advantage of my situation ( I was afraid that since I was at the mercy of being in a precarious situation that I would get gauged financially, in fact it was just the opposite, he worked with me on the price since it was an unexpected repair that I did not budget for and he charged me way less than I expected. I contacted Chris a little later than one normally does for a typical appointment. He was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. I met with him the following day. He gave me a temporary solution for the issue I was having with an older garage door opener. We talked about a couple different options to replace the existing unit. He made a few adjustments to the old one and when I asked him what I owed him for his services? He just thanked me for my service to our country and said nothing.... He's a truly a great guy and conducts himself very professionally. I would recommend him in a heartbeat for any garage door issues you may have. My trouble began at 10 pm when I came home, entered my garage and after parking I went to close the garage door and the spring broke. The door was too heavy for me to lift manually and I needed a way to get my car out of the garage to go to work the next morning. I found my torsion spring had broken late Friday evening. Submitted a request for an estimate using their website. Heard back from Chris early the next day, set up an appointment.
