Chicken Quesadillas with chips and salsa
Stephanie H.

Great drinks, good service, but food is always slow to come out. We are used to it and know when we visit that we will enjoy a couple of drinks before the food arrives. Multiple TVs in the bar area, or you can sit outside and enjoy fresh air and a nice patio. As long as you aren't in a hurry, the food is usually worth the wait! This particular day we had lunch, but weekend brunch is a fav as well! Bloody Mary & Mimosa specials on the weekends... For lunch we had Chicken quesadillas with chips and salsa for me and my husband. Our son had the Buffalo Mac & Cheese with homemade chips as the side. Tons of food! Edited to add pics of brunch.

The bbq nachos are awesome, highly recommend! Great service

The barbecue nachos were fabulous. The tacos were delicious. The surface was awesome. Everything was just perfect.

Nashville hot chicken sandwich with fried mushrooms.

The service was excellent never wait for refill and food was brought out promptly. The place is nice if you know you are going to a pub. The food was good the Nashville hot chicken was not hot it was a mild heat nothing like in Nashville. Wife really enjoyed the horseshoe.

Our server was great! She recommended the Kentucky hot brown and it was delicious and I had the Cuban which was also good. Loved the strawberry beer

We visited the 618 Taphouse recently to watch a football game. It was close to our hotel and it offered us another option besides the usual chain restaurants that surround hotels off of interstate exits. The wife and I bellied-up at the bar, in front of a television, and took at look at the 3 page beer menu. They had a very nice selection of local, micro-brewed beers, plus a full bar, so our visit started strong. The place was super-clean, and despite other reviews on Yelp!, they had plenty of staff on hand to make sure we had everything we needed. We weren't super hungry so we asked our bartender for a recommendation. She suggested the loaded steak nachos. Pretty safe bet for a sports bar, so why not?!? They weren't bad, however they also weren't very good?!?! It was a strange dish, to say the least. They featured their signature beer cheese sauce, which was good. Not very Latin inspired, but good. It was the only thing on the plate that was warm, which was strange?!? They were supposed to come with steak, pico de gallo, corn salsa, lettuce, beer cheese, salsa and house made southwest ranch. Ours didn't end up having the pico or the corn salsa. Also, the chunks of lettuce and steak were huge!! They didn't really fit on the tortilla chip?!? The steak was tender, but almost tasted as if it was boiled, and had NO seasoning on it whatsoever?!? Why not just season the meat a bit and chop it up so you could eat it - bite size?!? Again, it didn't taste bad, but it wasn't really good either. There was an overall lack of "Mexican", or Latino flavors, which just kind of confused the wife and I. Now my daughter ended up joining us a little later in the evening and she ordered their Cajun fried pickles and their Buffalo fried cauliflower - which came with crumbled blue cheese and the southwest ranch dressing. Both of her apps were good. Exactly what you would expect from a place like this. So, bottom line is that we ended up having an okay time... nothing memorable aside from a really nice and extensive beer list.

Working for the weekend IPA

Its called a Taphouse for a reason. Beer first then food. Menu is just to give you something to munch on. Don't come expecting a gourmet meal. Ain't that type of place. I like good long bars at beer spots but when I walked in it had to be 55 degrees in there. Grabbed a beer n went to the patio. Holy smoke batman. There were so many folk smoking my eyes immediately started watering. Small patio. No circulation. What to do? Freeze or choke on smoke. I kept going back n forth. So I end up ordering my food to go because I can't stand this. I ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and it was okay. Their whole menu is bar food but overpriced. The single IPA I got was $8 and most of their food is $10 regardless if it's an app or entree. This beer was made right there in nearby Chicago. $8 is high. The bartenders were nice and friendly to me so I don't have any complaints on that but they got to get the temperature controlled and get some more fans out on that patio. Non-smoking people like to sit outside too

Severely understaffed. Service is terrible. Existing staff barely competent. Been here several times. Same story every time.

Great brew selection, AMAZING lemon martinis-according to my wife, and she is never wrong, lol. The "bar food" is extremely well prepared.

We ordered appetizers a calzone ( burnt in on end, blackened on the bottom -bitter tasting) and a sandwich ( warm, chips oily and soggy). It seems like there are only 2-3 staff working on a graduation / Mother's Day weekend ???? Service was slow but these folks were clearly overwhelmed. They were polite and apologetic for the food preparation time. There were very few folks there so they weren't slammed busy and overwhelmed, just overwhelmed. We likely won't be back. $325 Dinner and drinks bill and any chain place with mid quality drinks and food ( Chilis, Applebee's, Cheddars, ) would be 1/2 the cost and clearly better. An upscale place ( Flame, Texas Roadhouse, Outback) would be a way bether choice for comparable money. The Venue is stunning and looks clean. Hopefully they get it together, or get someone in the space who can. Disappointed at best.

My favorite was the crimson eclipse. Food- 3/5. We ordered some appetizers and they were a little disappointing/did not match the description of the menu. The margarita pizza was a little spicy. Fruit and cheese plate had some nice jam, but the presentation was off. Crab cakes were small. Also, the menu on their website was slightly outdated. I would still recommend this location as it's very classy, great for groups, and plenty of parking. Service was excellent. Indoor and outdoor seating.
