My husband and I visited this restaurant in late April, 2024. We've been traveling cross-country and, on that particular day, we were dodging tornado warnings as we travelled from Arkansas to Elk City. We stopped at this restaurant for dinner. Based on the menu (burgers, pizza, and the like) and the restaurant's ambiance, we were expecting fast food. However, our selections were cooked fresh-to-order (which took a bit long to arrive) and were a cut above typical fast food. I ordered a mushroom-and-Swiss burger with all the fixings and deep-fried cheese curls (mostly to find out what they are!), while my husband got a pulled pork sandwich and fries. Both meals were very tasty. We REALLY also wanted some of their creamy frozen custard but we were too full. Not to worry, we got it to go & put it in our RV's mini-freezer. This was truly a special treat for us later on. Excellent Butter Pecan! We didn't have any kids with us but they had adorable car-shaped containers for their kid's meals. We also appreciated the friendly locals who were very friendly with us. Breaking weather warnings were on the screen of the television in the restaurant -- but we had no clue where the affected areas were in relation to where we were in Elk City. They reassured us that we were out of the danger zone for tornadoes but that we might experience high winds. For any Harvest Host RVers out there, 66 ToGo is a participating host. Wow! A great place to stop on Route 66 in Elk City. The dining room is fun with plenty of seating and all of the fun little cars. The burgers are really good. Very gracious with the toppings and sauces. Love the grilled onions. The service has been great every time. They are always very helpful and the food is ready quickly. I can't have gluten, and they have been such a huge find for me. Dedicated fryer for the fries. And by the way, they have frozen custard that is so very delicious. I watched them serve my veggie burger to another customer (who handled the burger and returned it), place it in the back, then bring it back to me and my family today. I will never eat here again. The grease from the other patron's onion rings was still on my tray. They did swap the tray for another color to make it seem like they made a new veggie burger, but they kept the same paper. The time between them bringing the wrong order (my burger ) to the back and bringing my family's food out was less than a minute or two... This is the third time my family has eaten here. Came here as a #harvesthost spot where you can stay overnight on their property in our RV, and it was perfect, not only because there was plenty of space for us to park, but the best part is their food!! We always "pay it forward" and spend money at whatever business it is that opens its doors for us to stay, but this place is one I'd come to and come out of our way to come to again! We had cheeseburgers, and they were perfectly made, juicy with all the fixings and great bun! Then we had their fries and were the thin and crispy ones and were amazing! Then we had onion rings that were freshly made and delicious, and we bought some pints of ice cream to take with us, and you definitely have to do the same!! If you love caramel, the cashew caramel is a dream!!
