It needed more boom sauce so asked for extra on the side. The burger patties themselves were mediocre but will all the fixins, it was very good. The boneless wings were surprisingly big pieces. The bbq sauce was Smokey and slightly spicy. Solid choice for a wing sauce. This was the first time I've been to Elk City, but this has to be the best restaurant in town. Got there at 11:15 in the morning on a Saturday. The music (techno dance club) was still set to whatever it was at close the previous night - loud, I'm sure due to the nighttime clientele. We were the only people in the restaurant and asked for it to be turned down. The server had to ask the manager and the response was a notch from 10 to 9, we finally moved tables to get away from the speakers, dropping down to an 8.5, we literally had to raise our voice to talk to the waitress. Here is a hint, no one ever walked out of a restaurant because there was no music, but we nearly (should have) left due to the music. We actually mentioned it the second time we asked for the music to be turned down. Food. Don't get the pizza if you are in a hurry. I got their Hawaiian pizza, the pineapple was spoiled as in canned pineapple that has been in the fridge too long. Mentioned it to our server and it was "thanks for telling us", no offer of a refund on a 1/3 eaten pizza. My friend got the French dip with fries and it was decent but nothing to write home about. If you are coming in off the highway, I'd recommend the Arby's next door. read more

The boneless wings were good! The fettuccine Alfredo.... The pasta was absolutely bland. The sauce wasn't sauce.. it was bland and watered down. The salt and pepper packs sent with the dish weren't even remotely close to enough to season the dish. The portion size was great for the price and even honestly more than what I paid for, but if they'd cut the size down and increase the flavor to more than bland it would be great! read more

We thought we would try this since our last trip we visited Fred's next door a few times. The bar at Boomtown looked as impressive but we only had beer & wine. I just had a first time experience in any restaurant. It was like something out of Bar Rescue. I don't know who the owner is, nor the manager... it didn't appear that either was on site this Fathers' Day evening. We got seated quickly enough, but then the fiasco started. My wife ordered Chicken Fried Steak, and a side salad. I ordered a Pizza. Our server was clearly new, and appeared to have received ZERO training. My wife knew she was going to receive get meal with no salad. She absolutely called that one. He brought out our food and lo and behold, no salad! Once she had the salad, her meal was good. However, this is why you only get pizza from pizza places, unless you want something that tastes like frozen pizza. My entire pizza was served on a dinner plate, and I was given no plate from which to eat. By the time I got a plate, my pizza was cool, but it wouldn't have made any difference. As we began to eat we could tell the wait staff was ill-prepared or understaffed or something chaotic was afoot. This next part is what I'd never experienced before... about halfway through our meal the host began turning away guests! Guests would step up to the hostess station, and he would tell them they were not accepting customers at this time. The guests would respond with a puzzled look, sometime asking him to repeat himself, then they would turn and walk out, muttering to one another. I've never seen anything like it. He turned away at least four parties in a matter of 15 minutes. The owner needs to give this staff a bitty more attention and training, or should be there him/herself. Their sign needs some attention too! read more

Saturday afternoon during a visit to Elk City. Very busy due to multiple sports tournaments in town. Servers and kitchen did pretty well for the amount of diners there. My husband had chicken fried chicken with loaded mashed potatoes while I had surf and turf with sweet potato fries. His meal was very good but I was very disappointed in my sirloin steak. Although the cook on it was fine, it was a very tough steak. I ate less than half of it. The menu also said our meals came with a salad and one side but we were charged $1.00 for our potatoes. I would highly recommend Boomtown Grill. We had been on the road for 12 hours and I was looking for a restaurant that stayed open past 9:00 on a Sunday, and had a full bar. Our waitress was great and our food came quickly. The local beer was light and refreshing and the Chardonnay was perfect. I ordered the cedar plank salmon, sweet potato and salad for under 20.00. It was the best meal ever, and I patronize a lot of fine dining restaurants. My husband had the patty melt and he said it was one of the better burgers he's had in along time. Having a dependable chain when you travel is priceless. The lunch special was below $5 and was fresh and well prepared. It was a small lunch size chicken fry. Doesn't look like much when you pass by it, but they have great service and great food. Facility was clean and restroom had big space for people with wheelchairs. No changing tables in female bathrooms. We were a group of four and were seated almost right away. We order surf and turf: it came with sirloin and two sides, we went with a salad and baked potato . We also order just the sirloin with veggies. Plus a side of wings, she was kind enough to give us 3 sauces to try with them wings. Barbecue sauce is a must.
