Their web site…read morementions the concept of Holistic Dentistry: Dentistry should do no harm, and dentists must look at the mouth, teeth, gums and jaws as integral parts of a larger, whole-body system. The health and structural integrity of the mouth both influence and are influenced by everything else going on in the body. Health professionals tend to focus on their area of expertise rather than looking at the body as a whole. Holistic Dentistry looks at the mouth and teeth as they integrate with the rest of the body. Along with being mercury and fluoride free, Riverstone Dental also uses cutting edge technology such as digital X-rays that use a fraction of the radiation as traditional x-ray equipment as well as ozone infused water as part of cleaning and other procedures. Riverstone staff are very friendly and I was delighted to be able to get a next day appointment for a cleaning and general check-up. I had made an in-person visit because of a tooth that was hurting quite badly. Erika handled my cleaning. I have some areas that are very sensitive and she was awesome. Most dental cleanings are quite uncomfortable for me and this is the most comfortable I've been with a cleaning in a very long time. Dr. Price is very friendly and knowledgeable. He explained what was going on along with treatment options in a manner that was simple and easy to understand.

Current review: 2025 · 2* Original review: Over 14 years…read moreago. · 5* Do you know those upscale restaurants where the waitstaff create a non-intrusive, seamless dining experience? Versus places where some of the waitstaff are "so attentive" they're announcing EVERY arrival to the table, asking how everything is every two minutes? And you spend more time and effort attending to THEIR "service" versus why you came to the restaurant; to enjoy the LIVING of life? Post new management, and more specifically post pandemic, Saby Dental has shifted from warm personal interactions & the cheeky "marketing" of a warm cookie after each appointment to incessant reminder emails, texts, & calls, repeated requests for a review, and recommending seemingly excessive visits. (No dental problems, decreased build up, yet recommending I come in for cleanings 4 times a year!) I get that everyone runs their business differently, and even that some customers will appreciate these methods. To me, it feels more like I have to manage their way of doing business rather than them coming alongside me, living life. I manage my side of the fence by accommodating my anxieties and sensory challenges of going to the dentist. Now, I also need to manage Saby Dental within & beyond the four walls of their business, since they don't seem to consider how they impose on clients. It's more labour than I'm willing to put in for a business. No, I will not be your outsourced marketing team of 1, by writing you a review after every visit. No, you can no longer reach me by phone, text, or email. You lost that ability, when you didn't respect multiple requests to interact on my terms. I don't want to manage your incessant "give us more business" methods dressed up as "friendly reminders". (The cheeky warm cookie was far more effective.) I want to be respected as a responsible adult, not infantalized or prodded to do your labour (Even considering to engage or ignore is unsolicited labour I didn't consent to). I don't want to manage your doubling down, when you slip past my blocks via new email addresses and phone numbers. (When I haven't been back for a few years!) I don't want to recognize or feel like I'm being funneled into and down your business practices pipeline before, during, and after an appointment. Just see clients as fully human instead of business model pawns. I've communicated directly (multiple interactions) & indirectly (blocking, withdrawing business). It's still not enough. So, let's try this. I'll use a language that might have more significance to Saby Dental, and leave a negative review. I not only gave them 5*, back in the day, I told everyone, friend/stranger, how amazing Saby Dental was at every level of care and service. Now, I tell no one. Saby Dental was my dentist for roughly 20 years. While I've received quality cleanings & checks under Dr. Sandhu's management, I feel more like I'm serving Saby Dental than Saby Dental is serving me. Increasing my visits for no reason? Increasing all communications in frequency, type, & method? Requiring more forms of labour from me to manage your choices? Shifting from 'fellow human' to 'another number' mentality? I'm moving on. Particularly, when going to the dentist already requires a lot of self-care, self-management, & personal accommodations, I don't manage what isn't mine.

Dr. Sandhu is the first dentist to spend the time and work with me to do a full mouth restoration…read more After consulting with at least four other Dentists, I chose Dr. Sandhu, and I am glad I did. Not only was my case very complex and time consuming, he only has ever shown patience, understanding, and preformed meticulous work. He was also able to see me quickly when I was having pain and made sure I left comfortable. He is extremely kind and has taken all of my numerous issues seriously. His dental assistant and Hygienist are hands down the most amazing ladies I have ever met in my life. The receptionist has been extremely kind and patient with my numerous appointments as well. For the first time in 20 years I am not embarrassed to smile with my teeth showing. Amazing clinic and amazing staff!

When I questioned this, she became extremely rude. Citing a regulatory body to pressure patients into giving a photo without true consent is a major red flag. Unqualified Staff: My mother was taken in for a cleaning, only for the staff member to admit she was a dental assistant, not a hygienist, and was not trained for the procedure. This is a significant safety and regulatory concern. Privacy Breaches: When we decided to leave due to these issues, the front desk person was rolling her eyes and openly discussing our departure with another customer in the waiting room. As someone who values health information privacy, seeing a staff member gossip about patients in a public area is disqualifying. Poor Professionalism: Beyond the ethical concerns, the office ran late without notice, and the front desk attitude was dismissive and hostile. Verdict While a different team member eventually came out and was very kind, the fundamental issues--lying about "required" photos, using unqualified staff for clinical work, and ignoring patient privacy--are far too serious to overlook. We will not be back.

Inhumane and horrible human beings. Beginning of November…read morelast year I went in with extreme tooth pain. I saw Dr. Appalraju, who was pleasant and professional. He talked me through a plan and process that I agreed with, and he wrote me a prescription for antibiotics to get rid of the pain. The plan was to clear out my top teeth, which I'd have to go to Edmonton for, and to see a denture place for replacements. Front desk assured me (I asked several times if I needed to do anything) that they would take care of everything and that the places would call me. Five days go by. No call, no nothing. The pain is unbearable so I've filled the prescription in the meantime. I phone concept to see what's going on. They assure me that I will be phoned and that they don't know why I haven't been. The pain is still unbearable and I tell them this. Another day goes by. I phone again, same thing this time - I tell them I'm in unbearable pain and I haven't heard from anyone. Again they tell me that it's all fine and the place will phone me. Another day goes by. I phone again. Whomever answers the phone is now exasperated by my daily phone calls because I'M IN PAIN. They offer NO solutions, no reasoning for the lack of contact. I'm not exactly happy with this. My wife offers to take me to her dentist, Image dental. I go in there and they tell me I need 100k worth of work. They won't advocate to just get rid of the last six teeth I have on my upper half. I tell them I don't want to save them, I want them gone, and I leave. Given my experience with concept at this point, when someone on this very page asks for a dentist to recommend, I tell them to stay the hell away from concept. Fast forward to today, the pain has become unbearable again because another tooth has become infected. I phone concept because I was under the impression that they still had a plan and such for me. Front desk has the manager call me back, who, despite my saying that I'm in unbearable pain, says that because I went to Image when they refused to help me, that I am no longer with concept dental. She also stated that because I said what I said on Facebook (no bad reviews left, nothing other than replying to a rant on this group page) that they don't want anything to do with me. How absolutely inhumane and unprofessional can you possibly be? You ignored my unbearable pain for a week and forced me to go somewhere else and I'm supposed to be happy about that? I'm supposed to recommend you to others? DO NOT GO TO CONCEPT DENTAL.

Although he recognized that he needed to reverse the claim, he only did so on his end and failed to reimburse my $1200. I have been waiting over three years (2024) and have to file a legal claim to obtain my refund for what he should have refunded me for the crown failures. In addition I have to take legal action to obtain refund for my dental damages that his gross negligence has caused. As the crown base needed extraction that cost $250 and for installing an implant for $2000. I contacted Bower Mall Dental and Dr Der repeatedly over 2021 2022 2023 and 2024 in Writing and by phone - they never responded and never refunded. Still ongoing on April 5 2024+. I have switched dentists and have had excellent cleanings with Parkland Dental Mike Mah. dental care, extractions, implants, crowns, general check ups, and hygiene appointments with Parkland Mall Dr Mike Mah. He also owns other dental groups in central Alberta at Blackfalds Dental, Aspen Dental Rocky Mountain House, and Passion Group Dental in Calgary. Forget about the negligence at Bower Dental and go seek the excellent dental care at Parkland Mall Dental. They also accommodate your timelines for correcting your smile. Bower Dental: Attention Dr Henry Der: I have contacted Alberta Blue Cross and they have advised me that Bower Dental, for Dr Henry Der, has not reversed the claims properly for the crowns relating to Tooth 14 and 15, dated on April12, 2021. This means that you have not reimbursed me (as the patient) for these crowns in over 3 years. They have provided me with the details of this claim as follows: The total cost of Tooth 14 and 15 were $1290 for each tooth, meaning $2580 for both. Alberta Blue Cross notified me that they reversed the following for Bower Dental's portion: 735.96 for Tooth 14 731.45 for Tooth 15 Alberta Blue Cross has verified that Blue Cross still owes me my portion of this claim reversal and they have not reimbursed me for the following: Tooth 14 = 554.04 Tooth 15 = 558.55 Total (for both) = $1,112.59 I have emailed Dr Der, on several instances throughout 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 to request that you refund the amount owed to me for this Alberta Blue Cross Claim. At the very least, contact me to arrange payment regarding this claim amount of $1,1121.59 (that I am owed). It is simply not right and doesn't meet the CDSA Standards of Practice or Ethics, to simply not refund me any of this money, since April 12, 2021. I am sure that you are aware that it is currently April 5, 2024 and I could be using this money for my current dental Implants. Please arrange immediate payment, either by cheque or direct deposit - I could come by the office for this to occur. Should you not be willing to arrange for my immediate reimbursement, I will be forced to submit a legal claim at the Red Deer Court House to ensure that I am. I have also explained that I have just installed an implant, for tooth 14 - on March 15, 2024. I would like to request that Dr Der call me to reimbursement for this extraction and implant costs that I feel I am owed, in order to make me whole. As the dentists were not able to crown this tooth, extraction and implantation were required. The February 2024 Extraction Cost was $250 and the March 15, 2024 Implant Cost was $2000. While I realize that the Crown costs are more expensive over Implants, I am willing to recognize the reimbursement of my Crown claims sufficient in making me whole for the crown costs. As Tooth 14 needed Extraction and Implantation, I am hoping to discuss this matter with Dr Der to reach understanding that he claim this cost on his business insurance (in order to make me whole). I feel that we should be able to reach understanding that Bower Dental and Dr Henry Der, should (at the very least), refund me the $1,112.59 for the claim reversals for the failed crowns. I am sure he will recognize that I had a conversation with him that questioned my thoughts that (given my medical and dental history with these teeth) that we should have been proceeding with Dental Implants in 2021. Given that Dr Der made the decision to attempt crowns, that these failed and I am now proceeding with Implants, I out excess money to replace Tooth 14 with an extraction, implant and another crown. As Tooth 15 was crowned since 2021, I simply need the refund of the crown of Tooth 15, in 2021. Should Dr Der Not be in touch to provide immediate reimbursement of the 2021 Claim Reversal of the 2 Crowns, and negotiate making me whole for my added expenses for the Extraction and Implant of tooth 14, I will only be forced to file a legal claim regarding this matter. I had hoped that Dr Der felt that achieving CDSA Standards of Practice / Ethics, not to mention ethical ABC Claims processes and Better Business Bureau industry standards important.
