Came here for some beach volleyball fun. Had no idea this place existed until now! This is located in the middle of nowhere (aka Mitchell Island). It's actually pretty tricky to get to as it's NOT directly on Mitchell. Instead, you have to slalom through a parking lot and around another large warehouse. It's hard to describe, so be sure to follow the sandwich boards placed strategically on the path. However, parking is plentiful thanks to the location. This place really is a beach, and they did a really good job. 5 courts, and a ton of sand. I had my shoes off in no time. It's a bit pricey at $15 a pop for drop in (usually 2030-closing), but from time to time it's worth it. The sand is clean, the equipment is pretty decent, and there are a TON of people. A few too many, in fact. On Wednesdays it's $10 a person, and on Thursdays, ladies play for free. If you are in a small group (ie not enough for a full 6-person team) no sweat. The staff are good at arranging and plunking people into random teams. Make some new friends, spike a few balls. When you're not playing, there's also a ping pong table and some benches there for you to chill. My only suggestion is that they should have some kind of locker or shelves put up. Everyone was piling their bags and shoes against the side of the playing area. Sand was getting everywhere. Other than the price, I have no complaints at all. If volleyball is your thing, this is a great place to play in the winter.

Was invited to my gfriends bday party here. It was awesome! I didn't really know what to expect, and since it was a beautiful day out I thought it would be a waste of money. but it wasn't at all. Are group was big about 30 people. We had a round robin tournament, the place had 4 courts, we had reserved 3 of them for 2 hours. All of our games were timed. They had a "picnic" area with a ping pong table, beach chairs, and tables. The place is located under the KnightStreet bridge on Mitchell Rd. behind the Badminton building, kinda tucked away. I have to keep this place in mind when the winter season comes around.

He showed me how to run it , telling me that if I had trouble starting it, I should hold the choke while pulling the starter cord. We did that and it started. I took it home and couldn't start it without choking it. I couldn't reach the choke while pulling the cord so had to use a twist tie on the choke while pulling the cord. The collection bag leaked badly, half of the leaves escaped. The gas task was only 1/3 full. The height adjustment was rusted and very hard to adjust. The pull start cord wasn't recoiling properly and needed coaxing. The nozzle and hose attachment (for vacuuming in flowerbeds) was missing (even though I called beforehand and was told it was there). Waste of time and money. All they did was give me a 25% discount. Very poor maintenance.

I needed more power, and with that I called these guys to rent a generator for a weekend (yes, for the Yelp RV). I told them what I needed and thought that it was all pretty clear. Until I went to pick up. When I arrived, I had to force myself to open the door to the dirty, dingy and smelly mechanic shop with a coffee station that gave me the heebie jeebies just looking at it. Shudder. Me, obviously out of place, wearing street clothes with clean hands, said I was there to pick up an order I had made over the phone. The problem - they didn't have what I ordered because either A) I had ordered from the wrong store or B) I had ordered the wrong sized generator. Hmmmm... well, I know for a fact that I was supposed to pick it up from this location, since I didn't know there was another one until that moment and since I told THEM to tell me what I needed on the phone meaning, it would be pretty difficult for me to order the wrong size. After a few minutes of phone calls and some head scratching the crisis was averted. Soon, I was loaded up (appreciation for the help with getting this into my car) with a much bigger generator than I had ordered, but at least they charged me the price of the smaller one. The thing was heavy and huge, dirty and filled with rocks that left marks all over my trunk. But none of that bothers me more than the lasting smell of gas in my car that reminds me of that grubby place. Yick!

Patricia works hard to run a fantastic business for archery classes for people of all ages, and the whole Lykopis team does a great job of sharing the knowledge and love for archery. Lykopis teaches historical and intuitive archery, meaning priority is given to embedding the form into your muscle memory first (for good reason). I'd never been too interested in history, but learning the practices and long, long history of archery has sparked a new passion for me. I come home after every lesson eager to share what I've learned with my partner. But Lykopis is more than just an archery school. Sure, they also sell equipment, and they have workshops and viking camp among many, many other things. Their instruction is given with a vast depth of knowledge and with personalized, caring, and fun instruction. But above all, Lykopis has helped me pay close attention to my mind and body, helping to combat an anxiety disorder I've dealt with for the majority of my life. I've realized that I can become even more confident in myself, and I'm grateful to be able to work towards that with Lykopis. TL;DR: Take a class. Try it out. It's both fun and informative, and well worth it.
