Basically my mom and I found it to be a antique store with thrift store prices. The most collectible goodies are at the shop entrance. I kind of ignored them at first, figuring that they weren't in my price range. Walking around the store in the "not collectible" area I found several pieces of USA made vintage plastic picnic plates and cups for 25 cents each. That's all I was going to buy, really. Then I started looking through the collectible stuff. Asked about an ornate Victorian brass candelabra with crystal pendants...they offered it to me for TEN dollars because it had been languishing there too long. WHAT?? It had some missing or broken crystals, but it's still the thrift find of literal dreams. OK, now I started really looking through the collectibles. Spent $40 for the candelabra and picnic ware, plus: Glass clown figurine that looks like it's probably Murano; Genuine signed capodimonte from Italy porcelain piece, with no chips!! 1930's-40's women's fur felt hat, very jaunty; Matching set of two 30's diorama wall hangings; Vintage can opener; Some other small stuff that I couldn't resist throwing onto my pile. I'll post pics as soon as I return from this epic cross-country road trip with my mom.

To say this place is cool is a gross understatement. They have an amazing selection of architectural savage so if you are looking for doors or cast iron sinks and things like that, these guys have it and much more and prices are killer. I'm guessing that's their mainstay but what totally takes this place over the top is all the rest of the stuff they have. For a guy who loves crusty pieces with character that I can repurpose into something else, this is a goldmine. I found this place while in the area on business and one piece in particular caught my eye. A big old hand riveted tank. Sucker weights over 1000lbs. None of knew exactly what it was but that's just part of the fun right? Bought it on the spot after talking to the folks and owners who if you look up Uber Cool in the dictionary, their pics come up. They loaded that beast up and I drove 350 miles back to the KC area. Come to find out it's an old pressure tank that was made by Kewanee Boiler between 1905-1920. Now where can you find neat shit like that I ask you? Salvage Candy is where. I'm already planning a return visit as these folks rock and their selection and prices are to die for. One item had 2 identical .25 cent tags i tried to explain this and she cut me off raised her voice at me and explained she had all the tags here. maybe she should have counted the items... anyways due to her rudeness I asked for my money back. You could tell it made her very angry. She handed me my money back and said: YOU ARE NOT TO COME BACK ANYMORE!!!. L.O.L :P Fine by me Didn't plan on it anyways:) I'm Going to explain some additional reasons why family friends and others IMO should not visit this store. 1. As Stated above The owner Has a Huge Attitude Problem. 2. The Store Has no Climate control. The heat is left off in the winter and it is always very very cold. 3.The store is always very cluttered. Many isles are blocked off and when you are inside you get a "crowded" feeling at least I did. 4.It Was very loud today. Power tools where in use in another part of the store. 5.The prices IMO are VERY HIGH. Many items seen elsewhere including the dollar store are much higher at Brumfields. 6.They have a sign at the doors and desk to check your bags/purses and you MUST leave them with them or in a unlocked locker......If you can trust them....So I would just leave them at home or in your vehicle. 7.On yelp they claim the store is wheelchair accessible although that is not a possibility due to the very small isles that are blocked off and cluttered. Many items are sitting in the way on the floors. The floors are also slanted in a few places. Also you will need a grabber or assistance with many items. 8. They Have a tip jar. Not a bad thing except the only service they provide is "running" their own business. I can see tipping people who provide additional services or are in the service industry ( I.E Waiter E.C.T.) but Having a tip jar for doing your normal job that you get paid more than enough for is in my opinion tantamount to begging and there are many many people who need/deserve "tips" more than Brumfields. 9. Many items I have purchased from Brumfields Have not been usable. I Have Bought Many items with foreign cords or missing cords/attachments/pieces. Be sure to check items before buying. On the plus side they do have a bathroom customers can use despite the fact half of the sink waterspout does not work and the bathroom is also dirty. Its odd but they also have items for sale in the bathroom.....(No they do not charge for toilet paper. But if they did it would not surprise me). Thanks for Reading if you made it this far. In conclusion I hope you make a well informed decision about this business. I myself wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If it was possible to give negative stars I would. This business does not even deserve a single star.

They offer a variety of home goods with a broad selection of ceramic objects in particular ranging from candle holders to soap dispensers to spoon rests. They had candles, jewelry and a small selection of furniture. All in all it was a reasonably priced. The exposed brick walls and tall ceilings give the shop a nice feel.
