Steven Stanczyk, aka SKUBA, is the MAN!! I've been tattooed at different shops, in different countries, and Stanczyk is the best I have ever had put ink to my skin. I saw two different guys who had been inked by him, and the quality of work was on such an incredibly high level, I literally questioned if their tattoo's were real. Between having the steadiest hands, artistic eye, all his years of experience, there is no place else I will ever go again. He won't rush you or the job, ink you for your money, slap random garbage on your body, or give you anything less than his honest opinion. By no means am I an expert in anything tattoo-related, so please know that I'm not writing this with some sort of superiority chip on my shoulder. But in my 37 years of life, I've been tattooed many, many times by six different artists, one of them being Matt Mueller at 7DG. Here is where I tell you my honest truth: I'm never getting tattooed by anyone else. Like...never, ever, EVER again. There. I said it. I started getting work done by Matt nine months ago, and in that time, I've seen him for five appointments. Every single time...he just knocks it out of the park. Yesterday I was on the fence about getting my elbow done (I'm working on a forearm half sleeve) and Matt was supportive, not at all pushy (he never is), and honest. Nothing is worse than when someone tells you tattoos don't/won't hurt. Because let's be real...I think I have a pretty decent pain tolerance, but that's legit the biggest lie of all time. Ever. So when I asked Matt if it was going to suck, he very honestly responded in affirmative. And he wasn't lying: it *did* suck. But that being said, if you read my prior review, I mentioned Matt's incredible combination of speed and attention to detail. I don't know how he does what he does so f*cking perfectly and so f*cking fast, but he does. 101% the best. Period. End of story. Never getting tattooed by anyone else ever again. The. End. *****previous review below***** Easy five stars. Today was my first tattoo at 7DG and it will certainly *not* be my last. Matt is the owner and he was my artist. Seriously awesome guy. Totally down to earth, easy to talk to, warm and inviting. I really dug his approach to tattooing: all for client input, but not afraid to offer stylistic suggestions. That's definitely a plus in my book. He helped me find the perfect placement for the anatomical human heart I requested and it looks so.f*ck*ng.good. The shop is spotless and Matt changed his gloves a ton--something that matters to me as a client (and should matter to anyone getting tattooed, to be honest). He's competitively priced and while he's booked way far out...he's definitely worth the wait. One of the best parts of the experience? He works with precision, but quickly. Like...mindblowingly fast. As a mom of five kids (a few with special needs) every second tends to count. I was SHOCKED when he said my piece was 90% done. It looked amazing, but the final touches sealed the deal. It was such a positive experience: zero pressure, zero attitude, and zero pain (truly). I booked two more sessions with Matt & have zero intention of stopping there. I have a fair number of tattoos as it is, but I foresee adding quite a bit more of Matt's awesome work to my body. Looking for a tattoo artist in the suburbs? You found him. Seriously. I have been going to Matt for 8+ years for every tattoo I have gotten. I cannot say enough about how professional, patient and is truly an incredible artist through and through. I stoppped into this place back in July 2020 during the height of COVID and it was an unpleasant experience from the first step in the doorway. I was wearing a mask which got me some mean looks from everyone in the shop, including some woman sitting near the entrance who didn't look like they worked there, but didn't exactly look like a customer either. I talked to Steve as he was given to me by recommendation. I explained I was not really sure what kind of tattoo to get but it was going to be in memory of my friend who passed away from brain cancer when we were in high school. Steve brought me over to his computer where he scheduled a "virtual consultation" with me. I kind of felt like this was off but still went through with whatever they were going to suggest. By the time I realized I was being messed with since I was wearing a mask, some of the other artists in the back were visibly laughing at me while taking a short break from their ongoing sessions with customers. Steve had set me up for a Zoom meeting to "consult my tastes" and I could tell I was not going to be taken seriously. There was no other indication to this business that I was trying to not gain their favor, other than the fact that I was wearing a mask at the time when the US was at a pretty stressful time. It did not feel like I was even welcome to shop there, despite me not giving them a reason to deny my business other than the fact that I was wearing a mask. read more

If you're looking to get a piercing done then look no further because Derek is the man! I have been going to him for years now and he is extremely knowledgeable about everything piercings and I cannot say enough good things about him. I've gotten almost all of my work done by him and have not had a single problem. I never have to question his judgment when it comes to piercing placement as he always knows the perfect spot for just about anything I come in to get done. There have been times when I have wanted a piercing done in a certain spot, but he always politely explains his better-judgment and why getting it somewhere else would either heal easier and/or look better with the jewelry I want. I started going to 7DG to follow the tattoo artist that did my second tattoo. As of today, this artist just did tattoo #5 for me. Never in my life would I have ever gotten a tattoo, unless it was special. I lost 3 family members in 2 years. My tattoos are in honor of those I lost. Bob Gray made my tattoos special for me. He's an amazing artist and does an amazing job. He definitely shows pride in his art. This piercing parlor was one of the best i've ever been to. I'm from out of the area and decided to get some new piercings with my family, and Derrick was more than happy to assist us. I got a conch and tragus piercing- both of which were nearly painless- and was very satisfied with the service. I've been coming to Matt since I was 18 years old, I've never been disappointed with any work he's done for me or any of my friends I've sent along his way! He's a proud owner of his very own shop here at 7 day gallery and it's beautiful inside, he's also an artist and has a good amount of his work all over the walls, just ask him if your interested in purchasing one of his pieces. I highly recommend this artist, he's honest, super friendly, very fair prices and will let you know right away if your tattoo will work or not. (Always listen to your artists, they know how things will heal and they know if it will look right later in life) I have a ton of pictures I'll be posting here for this place, he's working on my sleeve now, and we're almost done woohoo! The place is super clean and there's another artist there named Steve, whom Ive met and seemed like a very nice guy. I've also learned they have a lady there that does cosmetic tattoos if that's something your looking for too. The shop is very open concept, clean and comfortable. At the end of your session your given a generous after care kit with a small sheet on how you should be taking care of your knew tattoo, a small bottle of lotion to get you started, a business card, a sticker and a sweet little pin of his own work. Bravo Matt and what an awesome new tattoo shop! Where ever you live, going to him, he's VERY MUCH worth the travel! You will not be disappointed! Also, be sure to get in your appointments, good artists book up, so get them in, definitely worth the wait, if you have to wait a little. Derrick was amazing! Clean, knowledgeable and to the point! I got my nosed pierced for my birthday and I love it!!!!

I went to see Derrick, the piercer at 7 Day, to get my industrial piercing redone. Well, long story short, he was able to use the holes from my old piercing and just stretched them a little bit to accommodate a 14g so I could eventually use a custom ball I had made. I appreciate his honesty as I would never have really known he was able to use the old holes. He could have re-pierced my ear which would not only cause undo pain, but would have cost me more money. He explained everything very thoroughly and gave me some great aftercare instructions. read more
