Walk-in vending machine for the 200th review- all to replace Apu!…read more http://www.lyricspedia.com/simpsons/who-needs-the-kwik-e-mart-lyrics/ I wanted to find a interesting business for the my great landmark in yelping. (I find this funny because I did not pay attention to what I reviewed for the 100th) The business was presented to me as the first self serve mini-market in St Louis. Think of this as part mini-market & part walk-in vending machine. No teller to greet you, thank you or wish you a good day. Just a faceless black box to scan your items then take your account info, credit card or foldable cash (no coin). While the 24 hour (with access to building) convenient ability of buying sandwiches, salads, chips, drinks, ice cream, gum and cereal sounds great... I still feel like I am cheating someone out of a job. I decided to buy a pack of gum with no price on it, but it was $1.99 plus tax & two packs came up on the screen. I decided that was telling me I did not need the gum. The $3.99 salad (pic) looked better than anything I have seen come out of a vending machine. The ice cream was only $1.39. I just keep thinking I am going to see "The Simpsons" episode with Apu being replaced by a black box. What is going to happen to all those babies? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eight_Misbehavin'

I haven't had any of their other sandwiches but I've had their gyro a few times over the years and I like it a lot. I remember the Riverfront Times article years ago saying how it's the best gyro in town as well so I had to try it back then and I think it was a little better years ago than it is today however it's still a good deal price wise with the gyro being pretty filling with a drink and bag of chips. Just know it is a takeout place only since there's nowhere to sit and eat inside and so its good for a picnic in the car or nearby park if you're hungry and can't wait until your all the way home and want to eat it right away. The service is okay, never had any problems. The deli shop itself is clean but basic.

I really wanted the Philly cheese steak, but they were out of the beef and I wasn't feeling chicken. My son ordered the breakfast sandwich on a bagel with ham. There's no pic because he inhaled it and asked when I was going back. I settled for the gyro and was glad I did. There was so much meat on it, I'll add to a salad for another meal! The flavor was like nothing I've tasted before...so delicious! I'll definitely go back to try other sandwiches and make the rest of my family try it. It looks like an old 7-11 and you aren't eating inside, but don't let the looks deter you. A piece of advice I got...order online or call in the order so you get the freshest ingredients.

I think this place has good coffee, but for a place that prides itself "hustle culture" it is the…read moreslowest coffee shop I have ever been to. Today, I literally had to leave because when I walked in, there was no one behind the counter, I stood there for a few minutes until someone finally came out out of the back section, and then I assume, went behind the counter to tell the worker that I was waiting. When the worker came out, she had a bunch of cookies in her hands that she then had to proceed to fold and put into a bag and then she started making the coffee of two people that were sitting at the counter while I was still just standing there. She did acknowledge me, which I appreciate, but at that point, I have been standing there for at least five minutes and I still hadn't ordered my coffee. I told her that I had to leave because I had to get to work and went to Starbucks instead, which I really didn't want to do. But this has been a pattern with this place- either they're not hiring enough staff, the staff that they have is overwhelmed or something is going on. I've been coming here for almost a year- and I definitely would prefer to patronize a local Shop, but not if it's gonna take five minutes to even just get my order taken when I am literally the only person in line. Also, I wanna add, I literally used to come here three times a week. This is not a new experience, but this one has really taken it over the top. Like I said, I want to support a local coffee shop, and I want to like this place, but particularly in the morning when people are on their way to work, this type of delay is totally unacceptable. I'm not blaming the worker, I'm blaming whoever's doing the scheduling.

This place is kind of a hidden gem! My GPS found it tucked away when searching for a place to get…read morea chai tea. It's fun, quirky, and filled with delicious goodies -- a great place to get coffee and tea, with the added bonus of sweet treats! I love the rotation of seasonal drinks, and the baked goods are a small but mighty selection of scones, muffins, cookies, brioche cinnamon rolls (my favorite!), and other yummy baked deliciousness! Staff are friendly and helpful in offering options -- for example, I needed some dairy free milk choices. The barista also offered great recommendations with the seasonal drinks. Pricing is really reasonable... which allows you to indulge in some additional baked goods or one of their fun merchandise items like homemade dog treats, t-shirts, mugs, etc. I also like that they have a small shelf of books, records, and games if you want a little BFF time - with your bestie or for just yourself! I enjoy stopping in for refreshments and a little break from shopping on Lindbergh, or getting something to go to enjoy at home. The vibe is relaxed, and easy-going, and marching to the beat of its own drum. You gotta love places like this! There is plenty of parking, and the lot is easy to get in and out of. Just watch your step at the doorway entry/exit. It's got a slight incline - so watch your step. Seating is limited, but it seems to work, because there is a steady "to go" crowd that doesn't take up the tables. I love this cool spot in South County! It's local, and I love that over bigger, more expensive alternatives. I've been thinking a lot about those cinnamon rolls. So, I need another visit!
