It definitely felt like a spot with a lot of regulars, which is always nice to see, and the overall vibe was very family-oriented and welcoming. One person handled both my order and preparation, and he was kind and friendly, especially once I started the conversation. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and loved that I could choose the bread. I went with the croissant, and it was a great choice. The sandwich was toasted, really good and filling. For my drink, I had the Cinnamon Toast latte/Americano Macchiato with oat milk, and it was delicious. Flavorful without being overly sweet and very well balanced. A couple small things worth noting: when I tried to use the restroom, both were locked, which was a little inconvenient. Also, the napkins available were the small coffee-style ones, and I definitely needed a few more for the sandwich. Overall, this was a solid stop with good food, a comforting atmosphere, and friendly service. If I'm in the area again, I'd come back to try more items on the menu.

Very nice ambiance with comfy chairs and a faux leather couch. They even have some board games adults can pull off the shelf and play while having their morning brew. Kid-friendly for the right age. We had a couple cups of regular coffee (nothing fancy, but 4 star stuff), a scone (nice 3 star scone when not heated up; our first was a sodden mess after heating), and a croissant sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese (4 star tasting sandwich that also might have been a smidge better on firmer bread ... the microwave just melts the whole thing together). We also got three 3-star muffins to go ... and they were excellent even the next day. All in all, this was a 4 star stop for us in the morning. While a single server handled the whole room, she was up to the task. We'll return.

This turned out to be a calm and surprisingly peaceful Starbucks, the kind of spot where the drive‑through hums along outside while the inside stays quiet enough to settle in for a few minutes. There's an outdoor patio that looks over the parking lot and plenty of space inside, clean and orderly in that familiar Starbucks way. I ordered my usual cortado and it was prepared well enough to take the edge off the morning and make the wait pleasant. The baristas were friendly, moving the queue along quickly without any fuss, and the whole place had that steady early‑morning rhythm where everyone is just trying to get their day started without drama. I've definitely been to worse Starbucks. This one was solid and decent, a reliable stop when you need a warm drink and a place to sit while watching the clock inch toward opening time. Review for Amélie's French Bakery & Café…read more As a transplant from the West Coast--specifically San Francisco, where high-quality bakeries and true French pâtisseries are plentiful--I was genuinely excited to try Amélie's after moving to Charlotte. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing, and after giving it more than one chance, it's simply not a place I plan to return to. The concept feels more like a themed destination than a serious bakery. The interior is whimsical and eye-catching, with decorative elements like a faux Eiffel Tower, which clearly appeals to visitors looking for a fun atmosphere. However, if you've spent time in authentic French cafés or bistros, you know the real charm is understated elegance--wood, mirrors, tile, and craftsmanship. This felt more theatrical than authentic. Where it fell short for me was the food. For a place calling itself a French bakery and pâtisserie, the absence of classic laminated pastries was surprising. I was expecting staples like Napoleons, kouign-amann, or beautifully executed croissants. What I found instead were pastries that looked average and lacked the refinement and technique you'd expect from a true pâtisserie. On my visits, I tried: * A leek soup that was supposed to be cream-based but tasted thin and under-seasoned--more like warm vegetable water than a properly developed soup. * A baguette sandwich with fig, Brie, and apple that sounded promising but was poorly executed. The bread was overly hard, and the balance of ingredients felt off, making the sandwich less enjoyable than expected. I gave Amélie's two chances, hoping the second visit would change my impression. It didn't. To be fair, the café clearly has a loyal following and works well as a social or casual gathering spot. But if you're specifically looking for high-quality French pastries or refined bakery craftsmanship, there are stronger options in the Charlotte area. Personally, I'd recommend: * Renaissance Patisserie for more traditional European-style pastries * Paris Baguette at Rea Farms for consistency and better execution * Or trusted local favorites closer to home Bottom line: Fun atmosphere, but the food didn't meet expectations for a French bakery. After multiple visits, it's a pass for me.

Unless…read moreyou go on a day that has a special you end up spending ~$10 for a large coffee with oatmilk. The last few times the coffee tasted burnt - okay, I can give them the benefit of the doubt they were just having a bad day. The bragles started tasting more microwaved, thrown inside a horrible tinfoil wrap so it's soggy and chewy and boiling hot. This last visit sealed the deal - I'll never go back and I hope you consider your options before going. My husband went to pick us up 2 large coffees with oatmilk (I have a dairy intolerance and whole milk KILLS me, I'm also breastfeeding my 2 month old daughter who has a dairy intolerance as well) and a turkey havarti bragle. It was $25!!!! I have 1/4 of my coffee and a few bites of bagel before I can tell something isn't right. The coffee was definitely made with whole milk, but even more than that I was VIOLENTLY ill. My husband calls the store to talk with a manager about the coffee being made wrong. They said "sorry, there's not a manager here, we can't tell if the coffee was made with whole milk or oatmilk because we all collectively make the coffees together so there's no way to tell, come back tomorrow to get a new coffee" I spent the day in the bathroom - again with a newborn and 2 toddlers who need their mom at 100%. I call the next day hoping to speak to a manager, I get the same "there's no manager on duty" I told them I thought I had food poisoning and wanted a refund and to speak with someone. The kid suggested I go to "biggby dot com and fill out a complaint because that would be quicker". I told him I'd prefer he write down my information because I'm a mom of 3 and I have food poisoning - I don't need to hunt down an email to speak to someone about getting a refund. (Hindsight he never shared my information because I never got a call) I ended up going online to fill out a complaint. Got the full run around, the owner reached out and apologized - asking questions about the visit and then radio silence for 5 days. I reached back out appalled it had taken almost a week to hear back. The owner got an attitude - saying they had a family emergency and they would refund me. TLDR: go literally anywhere else for coffee, you'll save money and you won't get the wrong type of milk in your coffee.
