You can hardly read any of the labels and most of the fruits and veggies are different from your average supermarket. This place had lots of persimmons fruit and kumquats - little tiny oranges. Theyâre also known for their cheap take-out food, which to me, looked a little scary, but thatâs probably just because I donât know or recognize what they were selling. This shop doesnât feel very clean, and the veggies looked a little worse for wear. I donât think Iâd choose to shop for fresh produce here, although there were some good deals on nonperishable and snack-type stuff. They had preserved mandarin rind sold like dried mango might be, in long sugary strips and other variations of sweets and snacky food that were foreign to me. The great thing about China town, which surprised me, is that most of the shops in the area are open until 7 or later, which is pretty cool, when the rest of the cityâs shopping areas seem to shut down at 5 p.m.

Because there's also the gas station, it can get busy when time to pay. Convenient location before heading out on the Henday. There are 2 bathrooms if a pit stop is needed.

It's been a while, but I can still vividly remember some key things about this place. First of all, it's extremely jam packed, from floor to ceiling, with goodies commonly found in the Philippines. Odds are, you will find something to snack on in here. Two snacks I often enjoy are the familiar Chippy corn chips and Sarsi (tastes like root beer) pop. There's quite a variety of items in this store - you just need the time and patience to look through everything. The store layout is a bit awkward. The "aisles" are pretty tight. Clausterphobic people might have trouble maneuvering inside. It's a bit of a maze to find your way to the cashier at the back of the store. Nowadays, there are larger Asian grocery stores available that sell the same or similar items. However, I do see the value in supporting these smaller stores and their owners, whenever we have a chance. For those who live in walking distance to this location, this store is convenient compared to other places where you might have to drive farther.

I like the atmosphere as it is clean and bright...another example of the pride taken by employees and management in their place of business. It is a great spot to slip in and out of as well with the strip mall, Tim's, two grocery stores, several liquor stores and fast food restaurants. My impression is they like people who purchase extras and not just a token coffee so the benefit of being a regular may amount quickly aka getting away with parking in the front and not on the side which makes a huge difference for a momma like me who has three kids in the car.
