--Location/Parking-- Saw plenty of parking, but it was dark…read moreand not well lit. --Ambience-- I didn't go inside, but the gas pumps were kind of lit because the area was dark it was a spot to gas and go. --Service/Staff-- I didn't interact with the staff. I mainly gassed and went. --Products-- Gas and go and was on the road quickly. --Capacity-- Unsure because it was dark and late in the evening. --Overall-- Quick and easy in and out of the highway. Recommended if you need to get in and out and be on your way.

Looks can be deceiving…read more Not much to look at on the outside. Valero Gas Station in a rather nod-descript building. I've known about this place for sometime now and even posted an exterior shot from when I was driving around looking for another place with a footnote to come back some time. Don't know what I was expecting but I walked into a very nice convenience store and it the back, a very nice Cafe, tastefully decorated and a full kitchen that could serve a much larger space. Not an expansive menu but from what i could tell, the emphasis was on quality and not the number of menu items offered. You walk in and follow the signs to the counter and after reviewing the menu, you place your order and then you pay. If you are dining in, you come back and grab a table till your number is called. If it's take out, you come back and pick it up. Looked over the lunch menu and a couple of things looked good. Breakfast menu looked very good as well. The lady at the counter asked me about todays special which was a Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich with Honey Mustard which sounded good. For a side, I had the potato salad. Place my order, paid and in short order my number was called and I picked it up at the Counter. Looked good and when I bit it, it was as good as it looked. Steak was nicely cooked and while I was a bit leary of the Honey Mustard, it turned out to be a nice compliment. The Potato Salad was excellent with a bit of a tang from the mustard used in it but not overpowering with a nice taste and texture. A bit hidden and not well marked on I-77 but it's the at the Tomlin Mill Exit North of Statesville on the west side of the interchange. Worth giving in a try.

Well it was a good spot, I've been a patron over 20 years. Until today when my girlfriend got home…read moreand said the lady working there said foe me not yo come back if i was going to raise hell in her parking lot. Confused i decided to go to the store to question why, immediately i was met with "i don't have time for this" i said i just want to know what was meant. Because the day before i had yelled across parking lot to get my girlfriend to see if gas pump was on or i needed to reset it. Apparently my first mistake was yelling across the parking lot, yet I've seen it so many times there. But the lady cleared it up she said i was mad because pu.p wasn't cut on quick enough to suit me, at least thats how it looked to her on camera. A week or 2 prior i walked in to store because i was early on getting ready to pump, and hear her tell abother customer " the dumb ass probably don't know how to hang it up" i thought it was funny, figured she was having a bad day. Now i think she don't like me. I would once drive by bigger more modern stations for hamptonville grocery, but no more. People who look for drama in everything so much so that they begin to assume based on silent video, need to work away from public. I didn't want aan apology just making sure she didn't think i was being inappropriate. But i found as soon as i tried to speak she was convinced in her ideas and happier costing the company business than getting over her personal issues. I have no clue why i was the 1 she felt the need to attack, because I'm the guy that would do anything for anyone. I didn't want her thinking i was some hell raiser. But there are stations where you can speak across parking lots and that be ok, and not walk in to her cashiers talking shit about customers. Its obvious the woman isn't the owner, because that takes people who know how to be professional and she's more of a busy body masquerading as a boss. Bedides that whats wrong with expecting a gas pump to be cut on after person paying has already made it outside and talking to a friend. Its sad how far some people will go for absolutely nothing other than pointing a finger for assumed reasons. My 100$ weekly spent there wasn't enough i guess. If you go ignore the womans problems they are made up, and don't expect her to have gas ready to pump for several your faults immediately after paying.

Yelp doesn't allow negative stars, hence the one-star rating. Avoid this establishment at all…read morecosts... Keep driving. What are the two things that every convenience store MUST have? 1) gas, and 2) bathrooms. This place has a permanent sign announcing that they have NO public bathrooms. This tells me that the staff (or the owners) are too freaking lazy or too freaking cheap to clean the bathroom. Don't reward them with your money.
