The cooking team have been together for quite a few years and this is possibly the oldest restaurant in the village - an as yet relatively untouched fishing village that didn't tick enough boxes to get the developers mouths watering at theprospect of profit. Its a great menu, founded primarily on fresh seafood, a superb location, and fabastic cooking. Turn off on the main road between Puerto del carmen and Playa Blanca just before you get to Yaiza. Sadly, recently (2008-9) a few other bigger island players have opened up here as they think PlayaQ is the next big thing - more a case of the last untouched thing- but this restaurant is in my view the all round top of thepops for location, food, service and value. We ordered 6 and the waiter was shocked saying we'd never manage it! As we waited, we thought maybe we'd ordered too much but we had 4 hours til the restaurant closed so we were in no rush! As it happens, we managed 6 tapas, basket of bread, pudding, a cheeseboard, bottle of wine and liqueur. Don't know what that says about us! We didn't find the portions huge but they were delicious: The fried Lanzarote goats cheese and black pudding with baked strawberry and pepper cream gets a special mention. Staff were really warm, welcoming and funny. We're really glad we chose the old harbour to stay in as it's a lot quieter and with lots of great eateries serving fresh and artistically presented food.

It is not very easy to find, but it is located on the right (sea) heading towards Matagorda and before the San Antonia Hotel. In fact it is right next door to a brand new boutique Hotel, Lanis Suites de Luxe, on the main Avienda. The food is nothing special really, but very good all the same, and similar type fare to most restaurants around, but the location is really something special and not to be missed. It would be particularly romantic for dinner on a warm sunny evening.
